It was a beautiful transformation of our kitchen.

Very well. All key tasks were completed on time, on budget, and with high quality results. Each key task was undertaken by skilled workers (usually teams of two) and, except for exterior painting, finished the same day it was started. Exterior painting was completed in a systematic and precise way over about a week by one crew (same workers each day). House has never looked better!

They showed up on time and completed work in a timely way. Carpenter needed to be called back several times. Work was satisfactory but there are two trees outside our house that were apparently in their way, so they cut the tops off without advising. We would have tied them back out of their way had we known but they didn't think to let us know. A year later and the trees still look chopped. Very disappointing. We paid a princely sum for this work but would not recommend them because of their failure to communicate what they were doing to our landscaping.

The whole experience was remarkably easy. We started with the need to replace some rotted wood trim on the front of our house. Most of the contractors I tried to contact through Angies list either didn't respond or didn't even offer to give us an estimate. I finally managed to get three estimates, and Lucia was much cheaper than the other two. Based on their excellent reviews on Angies list (not to mention Yelp and BBB) we decided to take a chance on the low bidder. As long as we had them there, we asked for an estimate on painting the whole house, and it was low enough that we didn't bother getting other estimates. We were not disappointed. Except for a few very minor issues that required return visits, everything was done within two weeks. The quality of the work appears to be superb, and the crew cleaned up nicely after themselves. I would definitely do business with Lucia again.

David and his team were punctual and did a lot of prep -- they paid attention to detail and were very professional. Hard-working group, with great supervision. We are extremely happy with the result. Very high quality work for a reasonable price. A neighbor even stopped by just to tell us how great the house looked. I would definitely hire them again.

The two people that came were Pedro and Rosa and they were fast, professional, and their workmanship was top quality.

The painting and staining were part of a major remodel so I'm not sure of the exact price of the job. All of the crew did an extremely good job, were very neat, clean and considerate. They perfectly matched.

Professional crew, punctual and professional.

Both the owner and crew were great and very easy to work with. They showed up on time, did quality work, and cleaned up after themselves. The owner was patient and helpful during color selection, and arraigned for sample quarts at no additional cost. Transaction was easy, and scope of work was clearly defined and executed. The crew had good attitudes and were willing to accommodate any adjustments during the week, and I never got the impression that they were pressured to rush the job. Price was fair for the quality of work performed. You can always find someone cheaper, but that usually comes at the expense of quality. We'll be calling them when we are ready to paint again!

David Lucia's high standards, professionalism, artistic insight, honesty and trustworthiness are the reasons I highly recommend his company for any of your painting or remodeling needs. He has a skilled crew and uses subcontractors that are professional and polite. They also left my place clean at the end of each work day! During the entire time my home was being painted and remodeled, David Lucia listened to my ideas and concerns and offered his professional opinion on paint colors and design. His thoughtful ideas and attention to detail gave me a bathroom I love. In addition, even though I made quite a few changes orders, everything was done in a timely manner and without problems. I think everything ran smoothly because he stopped by regularly to check the progress and quality of the on going work. Since this is my second time using Lucia Painting and Contracting, all I can say is another stellar job. In the near future, I plan to use them again to paint the rest of the inside of my house and to remodel my kitchen!

We received four estimates. Mr. Lucia submitted the most professional and detailed estimate. He provided all credentials, and if money were no object, we most certainly would have chosen him.

David Lucia is the type of painter and contractor that I am happy, I hired. He is professional, thorough, knowledgeable about construction and paint colors, very easy to deal with and explains in detail each step of the process as it unfolds. His crew of painters arrived each day on time, cleaned up each day and painted to a high standard. Due to the great paint job, I am thrilled with how my house looks. It turned out better than I imagined!!! Since I was floundering and needed direction with the paint colors, David helped and guided me with choosing the perfect colors for my front door and garage doors. In the near future, I definitely plan to hire Lucia Painting & Contracting for some indoor projects.

!From the start, Dave Lucia and his wife, Noel, were a pleasure to deal with. Dave came out to see the scope of the work and assess if it could be realistically accomplished in one day with a crew of two. After he said yes, we set a tentative date to later be confirmed. It needed to be shifted to the following week which was very reasonable. Through email and telephone, Dave and Noel kept us abreast of all developments. Their communication was excellent. Dave himself did the power washing the day before, in order to insure all would be dry for the following day's painting. He did an excellent job and in fact, did more than originally discussed, like power washing debris and leaves from the driveway and additional exterior walls. He showed me the work for my review and it was really well done. The following day, the crew of two painted the exterior trim and eaves. They were so professional, quiet and unobtrusive, that I didn't know they were there and completed the work before I went out to check on them later that afternoon. Other than the perfectly painted trim and eaves, there was no sign whatsoever that they'd been there -- not a spot or drip of paint or any trash to be found anywhere at all! I cannot recommend Lucia Painting & Contracting highly enough. I will be calling them in the future without a doubt.

From the first contact with Noel, the experience was more then I could have hoped for. Even though it was not a big job by construction/painting standards, David handled it like it was just as important as a large project. Prompt, professional and extremely easy to get a long with, he understood our budget from the beginning and stayed well with in our numbers. His whole crew was kind and respectful all the while doing an incredible job. They started on time and finished on time with fabulous results. We contacted Lucia Painting along with 2 other companies for estimates to paint a family room / dining room combo with very high walls which restricted us from doing it ourselves. Lucia returned our email on Angie's List within 24 hours and came to do an estimate a few days later. Since we were already in the process of painting the rest of the house, we knew there was only 1 coat necessary with the color we were using. Lucia gave us a fair estimate which was competitive with the other companies but it was the professionalism that set them apart. Once we agreed on the statement of work, they put us on the schedule that week and even ended up getting our job done a day sooner than first expected. On the day of work, David arrived on time with 2 painters and thoroughly explained the job to them. The painters finished the job in 7-8 hours and did a great job. We were very pleased with the quality of work and the experience of doing business with Lucia Painting. They are highly recommended and we will use them again in the future.

I purchased a deal for two exterior painters for a day, and I am very happy with the quality of work and efficiency of the painters.

The owner, David and his workers came and some painted while another removed the old vents and installed the new vents. There were some problems that they encountered but they were able to resolve them and complete the job. We were so satisfied with the outcome of all the work they did. Our home looks so much nicer and we feel more secure about our house not burning again if there should be another wildfire in our area. They painted facia to match our custom security door, and painted the downspouts to match the stucco and painted our front door. I was so pleased with the quality of their work.

The job was done well, completely, and in good time. No problems! I would recommend them and hire them again.

From start to finish this was an excellent experience. We had several painting companies come out to give us estimates, David's was by far the most thorough. During the estimate he gave us a ton of confidence in his expertise, pointing out things we hadnt even noticed (for example, two boards around our windows were beginning to rot and needed to be replaced) and he took time to really look over the house and give us an idea of what he could do. To give some background, the house was a hideous pink color and needed to be updated, but additionally the previous owners must have had an aggressive dog because there were scratches and gouges all over the exterior in the backyard. During the estimate he told us what he could do to fix the gouges as well as do some cosmetic work on these balcony posts that were very chewed up. Even though his estimate was not the lowest we got, we knew that the quality of work he would do was worth the extra cost (and this is coming from some penny pinching folk, we almost always go with the lowest bidder to save our budget!) We discussed our low budget and David was willing to negotiate the price with us so it would still be within our budget. We felt very lucky. The crew that came out (Marcos, Jesus and Carlos) were extremely professional and hard working. They represented the company well. They came early in the morning to get started and cleaned up thoroughly when they left in the afternoon. David came by almost every day to supervise and ensure the crew were doing what we had agreed upon. I felt absolute confidence in their competence and abilities. When they finished painting the house, and fixing the chewed up portions of the posts, we were shocked at the transformation. It went from being shabby and run down to being the home we dreamed about when we bought it. David came out against after it was all done and walked around ensuring it was done to our satisfaction, and even with our critical eyes we didnt find anything that was left undone, or done poorly. I wish every home improvement company had this level of work ethic. It was such a pleasant experience, when we figure out how we want to paint the interior of the house we wont bother calling other paint companies, we will go directly to David Lucia.

Dave Lucia runs the best painting company we have ever contracted! His painters are top quality. They arrived on time each morning and were very professional. More importantly, Dave Lucia was also there each morning to make sure they had materials they needed, review and instruct on the day's plan, and make sure that we knew what to expect. Dave would usually come back in the afternoon to check on the work and see what was needed for the next day. His approach to communicating with the client is great and really suited our needs. He keeps the client informed, he ALWAYS returns call promptly, and he forgets nothing. He also does things to improve communication and avoid misunderstanding. For example, we worked with him to develop a master list of paints by room, area, color, finish and type and he posted it as a reference for his painters. Dave Lucia is a contractor and is able to do home repairs and other work. This is a capacity that we grew to appreciate because it meant that during the painting work, we could also deal with issues that would have normally required our contacting an additional contractor or sub. As a small example, we discussed with Dave the need to change all of our door hinges to improve the overall appearance. Once we agreed on a plan, Dave obtained and installed all the hardware! We have had other well-reviewed contractors but by far, the quality of the work by Lucia Painting is way beyond what we have experienced. He uses excellent products, he uses the best approach for the surfaces he is painting (for example, spraying doors, baseboards and stair risers for an incredibly smooth finish), and he inspects the work for quality. Dave says that he may be more expensive than other painters but we don't think so. And because of the quality and the efficiency of the work, you cannot help but save money. Speaking of money, dealing with Lucia Painting for payments, etc. was painless. The billing is super clear and any questions are handled quickly. David's wife Nicole handles this aspect of the work and does a great job. We have already recommended Lucia Painting to others and one of our neighbors contracted him - they were extremely pleased with the quality of the work and grateful that they had a painter who could handle other work needs like replacing drywall. When you contract Dave Lucia, you are contracting a person of integrity who, you will learn, sees each and every aspect of the company's work as a reflection of his reputation and professionalism. If there is anything not quite right (we had few if any), Dave is the first to want to correct it and he always follows through. As we said earlier, he forgets nothing!!! There is really no reason to keep looking for painters once you have found Lucia Painting. We give Dave Lucia and his company our highest recommendation.

This job was done promptly, equipment was first-rate, workers arrived on the job when expected, and completed the job as promised. Mr. Lucia was followed the work closely every day, and was always available by phone. Frankly, the house looks like a new house since it was painted. Mr. Lucia is the best painter that I have ever hired, and I recommend his work unconditionally.

I can only repeat what I've described above, except I'm sorry I did not get this listed at the time, but, if only everything I was confronted with since then were even remotely as professional as Lucia, I'd not have had any delay. Example: It's June, & I have yet to complete my taxes due to discrepencies on my Social Security report that took far longer to fix than all that was done to that door. Another example: Got the rabies shot & sent the license renewal. It came back each month for 4 months & required a letter to the County Director to simply get it listed!!! And these were only 2 of least convoluted examples of about 2 dozen such time & energy draining incompetencies I've encountered since the door was painted. If I had time to list them all, you'd understand why ... I am one who GREATLY appreciates professionalism. I've seen very little of it, since Lucia. I repeat the "dos & don'ts" as above:I have an older wooden double garage door that had faded all too quickly, would swell in rainy weather & stick. Lucia was prompt to arrive for the estimate & due to the types of fading & swelling problems I'd had & issues inside the garage at the time, I opted to paint rather than replace the door so, I asked them to not just double coat, but sand the offending spot on one side & add a Thompson's seal I had to deal with the swelling. They started precisely on time on the set date, took precautions to protect surroundings from spills or drips, were thorough, neat, efficient, wasted NO time & did an excellent job. I could not have been more pleased and relieved & would both use them again, with confidence & recommend them to friends. I set out to submit this shortly after they finished, had computer/access issues then, before I could return, my life "erupted" ... in the ensuing bedlam, I misplaced their card & remained sufficiently sidetracked to be far less effecient than Lucia. It recently surfaced & I could easily have said, oh well, it so long ago, but, they 'earned' better than that & the fact I did not forget & am writing now, speaks to how pleased I was with them. I'm still happy all this time later.

I could not be happier with the work that Lucia Painting did for me. David Lucia and his wife run an outstanding company, and they exceeded my expectations. I was looking for someone who would do meticulous work, and David turned out to be as much a perfectionist as I could hope for. I found him to hold himself and his crew to the highest standards of workmanship. From our first meeting to subsequent conversations about colors and styles, his expertise and attention to detail were clear. David made several excellent suggestions, including replacing existing bathroom fixtures, mirrors, and lights as they would be removed for painting anyway. In addition, he had all the right contacts to get last-minute plumbing work done and replace a shower door. It all came together to really make the place look like new in the end! The work needed to be done between closing escrow and moving in, and Lucia Painting managed to do it in the exact time frame that I needed. Not only that, but David coordinated the work of his men with that of the flooring crew (a different company), ensuring that the condo was ready for us to move just in time. In about eight days, the Lucia Painting crew removed all hardware and carefully repaired and painted walls and doors -- no drips; absolutely impeccable work. The cabinets in the kitchen, bathrooms, and hallway were re-stained and finished to perfection. Their carpenter worked well in the evenings to painstakingly install the baseboard and crown molding. Every one of the men working for Lucia Painting was polite, respectful and hardworking. If you?re looking for a company that does cheap, fast work, do not hire Lucia Painting. If, however, you want an experienced contractor who will be truly involved with all aspects of the work, who will take pride in the results, and who will complete the work within the estimated timeframe and cost, then Lucia Painting is the company for you. I have recommended them to friends and family and will definitely go back to them for any future painting or remodeling.
