I contacted Action Air through Costco and requested an estimate for a new HVAC system for our house. Mario, the estimator, came to our house and gave us the estimate that was done through Costco program, with a 10% Costco cash card deal. We were interested in the Lennox system with 2 XC16 Elite Series 3 ton 16 SEER Dual Speed A/C units and 2 SL280UH070XV Signature Collection Dual Speed 70,000 BTU Furnaces and a Power Humidifier. The quoted cost was extremely high and the sales pitch was very pushy. We felt uncomfortable taking to the estimator, who was somewhat arrogant. This was surprising, as we assumed that the Costco HVAC dealer would be upholding the Costco's high standards of customer service. As a result of this negative experience, we decided to go with another Lennox premier dealer Aire-Force Heating and Air Inc in Santee. We are so glad that we did because we saved over $6,000 and got a top quality estimate experience and installation service.

I could not get the pilot on my gas furnace to light so based on Angie's list of reviews I hired ASI. One of their technicians came out on November 27, 2015. When he looked at my furnace he saw that I still had a solid gas intake pipe and said it needed to be changed to a flex pipe by law. I told him that SDG&E has told me that the solid pipe was grandfathered in and it did not need to be changed. I told him to get my furnace running and then we can talk about the flex pipe. The next thing I know he is tearing apart my furnace and changing the solid pipe to a flex pipe. He also changed the thermocouple all before even testing the furnace. He finally tested the furnace and it would not light. He said I needed a new pilot/control valve and that would cost $499, but he had to go back to his office to see if they had the part. He charged me $125 for the flex pipe. I did not hear back from ASI so I called them on December 2nd and was told that the part was no longer made and I needed a new furnace. I asked ASI how do I know their technician didn't break the part since he hadn't tested the furnace before tearing it a part? I also told them that ASI will never come into my house again. Later I found a part of my furnace laying at the bottom of the furnace that had never been put back by the ASI technician. I had SDG&E come out to my house on December 10th and they agreed that the control valve had to be replaced, but there is an aftermarket for the part and couldn't understand why ASI would tell me there wasn't. I was also told that the job replacing the flex pipe was a very sloppy job. I then went online to find a company to do the work. I found a company called Action Air that said they had the control valve my furnace needed and gave me a quote that was much lower than ASI's. They came out on January 7, 2016 and replaced the control valve, fixed that bad work ASI did on the flex pipe, put the part I found back where it belonged and got my furnace running. They did not charge me any extra for redoing ASI's work. I was very pleased with Action Air's work. I had SDG&E come back on January 20th and they gave my furnace a clean bill of health.

I had an absolutely great experience with Action Air Conditioning & Heating. The technician, Travis, arrived promptly at the time I was given, he was incredibly professional, knowledgeable and courteous. He clearly explained to me what the problem was with our broken heater and fixed it upon my approval. My husband and I are looking to install air conditioning in our home and Travis took the time to talk to me about what some of our options on a/c are and answered all of my questions thoroughly. Super impressed with this company and without a doubt I am going to schedule an appointment with one of their sales people for further work in our home. 100% pleased with my service today!

They were affiliated with San Diego Gas & Electric and I got a special deal for them to come out and inspect everything. I was not happy. They ended up telling me I needed a new air conditioner when mine is working perfectly just because it's old, and the heater. The heater was working too. I needed a filter and I needed a tune up on my air. In reality, they gave me this whole shopping list of things I needed that I might as well get a new system. They showed me pictures of disconnected vents upstairs. I had my nephew go up there and take pictures. There was a lot of trash in my attic. Pieces of what the venting system was when the house was built were just left there and they took a picture of the piece and told me my system was disconnected. I'm not happy with them. I'm 65 years old so I can't go up to my attic and look, but I knew that air was coming out of my vents, and I'm not stupid. I was just furious because I think they are taking advantage of other seniors. This is a government-funded program with San Diego Gas & Electric. They are getting money and it's one of these government deals. Another person that had the contract with the government that was not Action Air was the one that was hired and then they hired Action Air and several other companies to do the actual inspection. He came out and he apologized. He said this won't be happening in the future and he will take care of it. I was just assuming that hopefully he did, but I haven't checked up on it. They were deceptive. I would never hire them. I would never have them do anything for me. The price was great because it was subsidized. I don't know what their pricing would have been had I called them to do the same thing. I have a funny feeling it's going to be a lot more. There was no work done, really. They did replace the filter. I can replace my own filter though. I have done it. Outside with the air conditioner, I wasn't out there looking but I probably should have been to see exactly what he did. It was running before he came and it's running now so I don't really know what he did. The first guy they sent out here seemed like a straight shooter. He came on time for the appointment and he started his work, and they called him on the phone. He said that he was a trainee and they had determined that he hadn't finished completely his training and so somebody misscheduled him. He couldn't finish the job and so I would have to reschedule with them. Then they sent out a guy that was a fast talker. The first guy was fine. The second guy had a way of talking around a subject that he wanted to talk about. I was trying to pin him down exactly which vent is disconnected, and he said it's the one in my room. Why is all this cold air stuff coming out? He said there's cold air coming out of the broken end, and I'm probably feeling that. I knew there was something wrong that was why I called my nephew. They always have an answer for everything and then he was giving me free coffee from some company that I looked them up too. He knew that a little pack of the coffee was supposed to have some vitamins in it. I looked at the name of the company and it was one of those pyramid sales scheme things. I told the guy that hired this company and he was infuriated. It's like this guy not only had his little scam going on with this company that he works for, it's probably a scam company. They were on time. They were not professional. The first guy was pretty johnny on the spot, and he knew what he was talking about. It was bad that they took him out of here.

We found them on Angie's List and also through Costco. When they came out, they were extremely professional, efficient and they didn't speak above our heads, like many contract workers do. They took their time. They were very conscientious about laying down tarps and clean up and just making sure before they left that they let us know what they were planning on doing. So, they set expectations and then followed through with them. There were four people I'd like to point out - Daniel, Jason, Gennaro and Benjamin. They were all up and down throughout the attic in my house and outside and inside installing stuff. They were just fantastic. I would definitely use them again and I would highly recommend them to anybody who reads this review. Don't bother calling anybody else. The price was excellent. We paid a fair price. They were well worth it. Especially the fact that we got it through Costco, we're getting a rebate back from Costco - Costco cash card. So, it reduced the price by about $2000.

It was good. The price was alright. The only problem with these guys is that after a numerous service calls on our furnace and air conditioning blower, they missed the fact that there was a large hole where the gases from the furnace went into the ceiling to the roof out. There was a large hole there and for years, we have been cooling outside of the heating outside air. I had to fix it myself. I was very annoyed by that. They have never noticed it. It's as plain as day, but they didn't see it. Responsiveness is good. They didn't recognize the hole in the ceiling while it was wasting a lot of electricity. We had a huge bill for years. They haven't mentioned the fact that the filters for the blower come loose regularly and they tried to fix it over and over, and they can't. If there's none to hold the thing up, the filter falls on the floor. I was annoyed. I bought that blower from them. Other than that, they are great.

The airflow is improved and the condenser is extremely quiet compared to the original unit that came with the house. I appreciate the workers kept the area they performed work clean. They came in at the time expected and finished early. They took two days instead of the three they had mentioned. I had them come in on Thursday and they wrapped up on Friday. I am glad this was done before the weather became more hot. They were very professional and would recommend them again. Thanks to Larry Swain who was a pleasure to talk to and work with.

Outstanding service. They did a very thorough assessment at the estimate appointment, which they were early for. They had availability within the week and the replacement was scheduled. The installation team showed up on time and worked all day to ensure that the job was completed, and made sure to clean up after the project. They really showed pride in their work. Replaced the furnace and all its 25 year old components, insulation, and piping, as well as super old air conditioner and components. They also vented my dryer exhaust to a more convenient place, which we discussed during the estimate. They were punctual, professional, and there were no surprise additional costs. Very happy overall.

I wish it were possible to give this business and their personnel an "A" with lots of stars! They scheduled with us ahead of time AND showed up on time. They explained the process and then proceeded to do everything they said they were going to do. The operation of the new system, including the new thermostat, was demonstrated and they stayed to ensure we were able to do go through the steps while satisfying all of our questions. The clean up at each stage of the removal of the old heater, the duct cleaning, and installation of the new equipment was done as each activity was completed . . . a better job than I would have done! When a water leak developed they demonstrated a sense of urgency, escalating the issue until it was resolved and EVERYTHING was running perfectly. The knowledge, thoroughness, customer service, and professionalism of the personnel is only exceeded by their pride in the Company and a desire to continue to get better. ACTION is now our first call for any routine maintenance. JOB WELL DONE!

He was very nice and treated me well. He completed the job in under an hour. With the plan I purchased their initial visit was covered and I am a priority customer.
