Description of Work: The installation on my solar was done safely and in a professional manner. The pipes and wires are all hidden from view, one just sees the gleaming panels. The Sunrun team kept me informed every step of the way.

Description of Work: We signed an agreement on April 28, 2014 with Sunrun to install solar panels on our roof. Financing was to be handled through California's HERO (home energy renovation opportunity) program. In mid September we received from Sunrun a copy of the solar panel layout for our roof. In October we received a "welcome to Sunrun email from customer service. That was the last Sunrun initiated correspondence we received. In mid December we received notification from the HERO program that we had until February 28th to complete the project or lose our financing. I contacted Sunrun and was told there would be no problem completing the project before HERO's expiration date. The expiration date came and went with no further contact from Sunrun. Our initial agreement with Sunrun stipulated that if the project was not completed within 180 days we reserved the right to cancel. We proceeded to cancel the agreement March 3rd. |In summary I cannot recommend this company. Their lack of timeliness and responsiveness was unacceptable. We wasted 6 months with them. | |

Description of Work: DISCLAIMER: You may not want to use this review, as it does not relate to Sunrun Palm Springs. I used the corporate offices of Sunrun, not Sunrun Palm Springs. Sunrun corporate oversees my contract and they used a manufacturer/installation partner on my job, i.e., REC Solar. I can recommend Sunrun corporate unconditionally, as they gave me an incredible price. I pay 9 cents per KWH for 70% of my power for 20 years, when wholesale prices were 7 cents. The first tier of four tiers with SCE is now 16 cents. I now receive about 80% of my power in the form of solar, as I became more efficient in many ways. Of course, my contract required a prepay of the entire amount. That deal may no longer be available and, it was only because I used a solar broker, who was able to make this happen without any cost to me. The solar broker was One Block Off the Grid located in San Francisco and they provided multiple contracts for me to review. I think One Block Off the Grid is the only broker out there. Sunrun had the best price and terms and $15,000 was all I could afford at the time. The prepay allowed me to lock in my rate for a really long time and, help me with fixing the electricity cost as I go into retirement. It also gives a new homeowner a chance to have solar without any extra expense other than buying what power they don't make, to SCE. It is a real gripe with home buyers that they need to assume a solar contract requiring payment to the solar company and, possibly, to an electrical provider when they buy homes powered by solar. I thought about that 20 months ago and that was my reason for a prepay. I personally do not know anyone who would risk that much money up front, just to make a home sale easier. I may stay in my home for another 10 years, but I will be clear with my prepay in a mere 4.6 years, as I was using an average of $3,200 per year in cost or 12,000+ KWH. Now that the rates have increased, it may be closer to 4.3 years that I become clear with my prepay. My buyer will need to assume the contract, but will not have any associated expenses on the contract. A solar lease contract is now a big negative for home sales as reported in the LA Times about a month ago, i.e. December, 2014. Again, my buyer will just pay for the power they do not make, and just pay SCE at current rates. My entire bill for the first year was $309. I am now in the middle of my second year of solar. It is the best way to pay for power and Sunrun corporate was really fair to deal with.

Description of Work: I recommend them highly. We were more than pleased with them and are very happy with the system they installed. Everything went very smoothly. Jessica was our salesperson. She was excellent, thorough and even helped with getting water solar removed from our roof and finding a roofing company.

Description of Work: They provided estimates on solar panel installation. They’ve been great thus far; they’ve answered all of our emails, question come out to see us, and kept in touch with us. So far they’ve been very helpful, but we haven’t continued with their work yet.

The process went very well - they were very professional and the installation was excellent. The only minor glitch was that there was turnover in who was to handle the project management of the installation. I think we got handed off between the beginning of the permitting process (which takes a few weeks) and the actual scheduling of the installation. Once it was sorted out and we were lined up with our new project mgmt guy, everything went very smoothly.
Description of Work: We had multiple consultations with the sales rep. Then the engineering team came out to assess roof slope, area available for panels, etc. The data was fed into very sophisticated analysis software that calculated the predicted power production for various configurations, etc. Follow up visits by the sales rep helped us understand the differences between various systems (we looked at three different systems). We finally settled on one. Then the permitting process was accomplished by REC Solar. Later the installation team came out and did a great job with working with us to make minor adjustments such as where the inverter was to be installed and how the conduit would be run from the panels to the inverter.

Very professional, knowledgeable sales person discussed with us our options and worked with us to size a system that best fits our house and budget. The installation went seamless and was completed in 4 days. They handled all paperwork and contacts with PG&E. They (REC) fronted the PG&E rebate which reduced our out-of-pocket expenses. Total turn key system cost was $33,351 with final out-of-pocket cost (after rebates and tax credits) was about $18,000 and will save us $150 - $175 per month! Highly recommended!
Description of Work: Installed 4.2 kw solar system on top of our house. Mounted 21 Sanyo 200 watt modules, installed Sunny Boy inverter and ran conduit through attic.

Very professional, efficient and timely from start to finish. Les Kangas was our Solar Energy Consultant, and he was very friendly and low key. Les presented us with several options for different sized systems, and he was forthright and clear about the costs and benefits of each. The engineers and installers all showed up when they said they would and did a great job. The installation of our system took two days. REC Solar was able to coordinate their installation with a roofer installing a new roof on our house, which was very helpful. REC Solar's office obtained the rebate from the State of California on our behalf ($2,633), and credited us up front for the rebate. We also will receive a federal tax credit of $2,000 on our taxes this year. REC Solar was very good about following up with the electric companies to get our system approved and up and running. We have had the panels working for about two months now, and so far they are producing more electricity than I expected.
Description of Work: Designed and installed grid-tied solar photo-voltaic system for our home, comprised of an array of eight 190W panels (roof-mounted) and inverter.
