I had a very serious problem when I set off a flea fogger that went wrong. It never cleared up and left a film to which I was violently allergic. There was no help from the product manufacturer, my insurance - nobody...except ServPro, San Luis Obispo. They came in with the right tools, people , experience, ingenuity and attitude to solve my complex problem. They saved my house and my ability to stay retired on the central coast! Thanks, ServePro! Description of Work: ServPro washed every interior parts of my home, floor to ceiling, with appropriate cleansers for both hard and soft surfaces, cleaned upholstery and hard services on carved antique furniture, expertly cleaned all vents, ducting and replaced filters, isolated each room separately as they went. All large appliances were removed, cleaned and a bed and dryer were taken to the dump with other contaminated trash. Finally, they used a hydroxal and ozoneating circulating systems to aid in the deep removal of remaining smells from the bug bomb. They showed up every day at 9 for a week with, crews of 2-8, depending on the goals of the day

SERVPRO was the preferred contractor for my insurance company in dealing with water damage--I do not know how much they were paid as the insurance company paid them directly. They were very responsive to our needs in dealing with the water damage with prompt assessment of the problem and complete explanations of what work was necessary.
Description of Work: SERVPRO evaluated the extent of damage to our rental house from a water leak and performed the necessary demolition work to remove the damage. They made recommendations and coordinated the work of the other contractor who dealt with the asbestos abatement.

First problem what to do about the water, the company ripped up the flooring, stripped the padding, then turned on the blowers to dry out the carpets. Only after we had vacuumed up all the standing water with a shop vacuum. ServPro should have informed us that we'd need to stay in a hotel, while the work was performed. We were in the house during all the work, which was a big mistake! The drywall was taken off only half way up the walls, they also removed the insulation. But, they didn't install replacement insulation. We live in a Condo, and now we have to hear everything our neighbors say and do as if we were right there! The drywall they installed was 1/2-inch drywall, we needed 1/2-inch for the walls as well as 3/4-inch for the ceilings damaged by the water. The 3/4-inch wasn't installed, just the 1/2-inch drywall everywhere. Never mind that the assessment stated that the bathroom needed to be replaced, that was work ServPro claimed was done, but it wasn't! We were told by the building inspector that the stairs would need to be rebuilt, ServPro told my mother: "that would add to her bill, which was going to be another $15,000 out-of-pocket." The insurance carrier, later notified my mother that the contractor should've included the building inspectors comments in our damage assessment. What really set my mother over the edge was that ServPro contacted our insurance carrier directly and informed them that ServPro would be installing the new flooring to be put into the house, never mind that ServPro had my mother pay for the same thing. What is the results of the work performed? We have a house that is colder and draftier in the winter, hotter in the summer. We've had to have the house treated for mold, especially in the bathroom. Mom would love to have the rest of the house rebuilt, but as a result of our experiences with ServPro, Mom is less inclined to trust anyone.
Description of Work: We experienced a flood in our home, 2 days after New Year 2005. In desperation we looked for a local company, we found ServPro. We called and found that the owner of the company lived just across the street, they arrived and found that the carpet was flooded, the walls needed to have the drywall removed, the kitchen ceiling and part of the living room ceiling needed replacement, we lost the following appliances: television, VCR, and microwave oven. The damage was caused by the wax ring under the toilet failed, the toilet continued to refilling the toilet over and over. The amount of water was around 40 gallons in over an hour. The inspectors were worried about mold developing on the walls and carpets, so ServPro order as many blowers as possible. We had to have the living room, dining room carpets replaced. New flooring put in the master bathroom, living room, and dining room; subject to our approval. We needed new drywall installed on the stairs, the living room, the bathroom, the closets, and the hallways as well as the kitchen and living room ceilings. What needed to be done was have the bathroom remodeled new toilet, new sinks, new bathtub, and fixtures. All this for the price of $25,000.00, thankfully the insurance company paid!
