Archer Painting

As previous reviewers have stated, Gino is a real craftsman, and a professional. He is the kind of workman that you wish ALL your hired workers could be; friendly, diligent and shares as much detail as you want while not overwhelming you with more than you need to know. He goes out of his way to make sure you're happy with each step of the process. We are so pleased with his work, that we've already hired him to do more.

Gino did a wonderful job painting our house. He was meticulous and exacting with his work. He was very informative about his process and what he would be doing each day and always told us when he could be expected on the jobsite and how long he would be working each day. He always kept his worksite clean and picked up and was an unobtrusive as possible as he did his work. He had good ideas for paint trim when we were needing input and willing to put up paint samples. He was always very polite and cheerful and easy to talk to. We would recommend him to anyone looking for a good house painter who does his work the old fashioned way...with love and respect for his craft and his clients. We thought his price was very good, plus he gave us an Angie's List "senior discount" off his original bid. We couldn't be happier with the whole experience and final result.

Gino was very professional in handling my interior paint job. He painted three rooms for me and did a wonderful job! He was very conscientious and took pride in his work. Most impressed. The job did take a bit longer than what was discussed, but the time was well worth it. I would definitely recommend Gino to anyone!

Gino did a great job. His advice was right on target, when he saw the shape of the toppers he suggested it be replaced as, in his opinion, painting the detiorating composite board would be a bad choice as the material beneath would not hold the paint. I was impressed with Gino's honesty as he had nothing to gain, he doesn't do the carpentry work, but he wanted to make sure I made the best decision for the work. He responded to all of my calls and was able to fit me in within a week which also impressed me as I know he was very busy. He was very neat and carefully put away his tools at the end of each day as I have two toddlers roaming around. Gino is a good painter. He takes pride in his work and made sure that every nook and cranny was properly covered, which is not easy with all those 2 x 2 spindles. He is also an honest professional as he did not raise the price even though there were issues that came up which required him to spend an extra couple of hours in order to do an excellent job.

Gino was extremely thorough and professional. He was on time, got the work done as planned and did an outstanding job. In addition, he did more than just come in and paint. He pointed out things that needed to be replaced and repaired and had wonderful suggestions to make the apartment perfect for the next tenant. I would highly recommend Gino and Archer Painting. I will definitely use him again.

Soot damage on my ceiling in my great room. Gino was on a 12 ft ladder for a day washing and rinsing the soot off. The next day he covered the floor, walls, furniture, cabinets, etc with plastic and tarps and painted the entire ceiling. He came back the third day to trim out and touch up. I was very pleased with the results.

Gino was prompt with his estimate. He was very professional, and always let us know what time to expect his arrival. We needed a lot of smaller jobs done and were afraid we wouldn't be able to find a good painter who would take a small job. Gino did excellent work, protected all surfaces not being painted, and cleaned up well. He was also very flexible in accommodating my schedule. We have already scheduled another job with Gino. We've hired other painters in the past and it wasn't always a great experience. Gino has such a common sense approach to painting, and the care he takes in your home really shows. We are extremely satisfied with Gino's work and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Archer Painting to anyone.

Gino is that rare, old school craftsman that takes pride in his work and did the job as he would want it done. He works alone, no huge crews of strangers showing up at your house. He cleaned up while prepping and at the end of each day. I hired him to paint the exterior of my elderly mothers house. He did a fantastic job and was pleasant and friendly with my mom. You better book him far in advance of when you need him. He is very popular. I liked the job so much that we gave him additional money beyond what he asked for.

This was our first time using a contractor from Angie's List and we are glad we found Archer Painting I've painted the exterior of our house the last two times but, because I don't do well with heights, was never able to paint the wood 20 feet up which included the fascia boards and wood around the fireplace. I wanted someone I could trust because we have a tile roof and I would not be able to inspect the work around the fireplace once it was done. We read a lot of reviews on Angie's list and Archer seemed like the best around. We could not have been happier with the work Gino did. We had to wait six weeks because he was busy on other jobs but it was worth the wait. He is the first contractor I've met that does not seem like he is just there to get the work done and get paid. He takes pride in his work and really wants the home owner to be happy. He takes time to explain the work he will be doing and some possible options that will save you money. I explained to Gino before he started the work that my main concern was to weather proof around the fireplace because it had not been caulked or painted since we bought the house. He did a great job. I know this to be true because it looks great from the ground but also because he took pictures from the roof(was not expecting that). Gino really takes pride in his work. After I paid him, he was still going around making touch-ups. He did not give us a business card before he left but I'm keeping his number for family and friends.

Deciding to paint our house on the outside raised the question, who can we trust? We decided to join Angie?s list to see what was available in our area. At the top of the list was Gino (Archer Painting). We looked over his references and they were excellent. He has now finished with the job, within budger, and we can report that his work for us was impeccable. That, along with a pleasant and personable personality, was a bonus. We found him to be very reliable and meticulous in his work. He was also very helpful with his suggestions for trim colors which have changed the look of our home for the better. Needless to say we feel very fortunate to have found him for our painting job. We are now planning to have him return for some inside work later this year. Scott & Joanie

Gino's labor cost in setting us up and providing hands on instruction (this involved his working on the project) was $60.00, which was included in the cost mentioned above.

We called Gino and he was able to come out on fairly short notice to look at the job. He was very patience, friendly and had some good ideas. He started working a few days later. The job took about 10 days, most of that time we were not there. He did a great job and went over and above to make us happy. He is very neat and is completely reliable. We already have him scheduled for more work!

He is really good. I am getting ready to call him again for a follow up. He really did a good job. He came back to do some extra stuff. He was on time, personable and gave a lot of good advice. He will provide information for you if you want to do it yourself and he works with you. He does good quality, is hard working and he had good products. I was very happy with him. He was stuck in traffic and called me to tell me he was going to be 20 minutes late. He came on a Sunday.

Gino is a paint master with excellent attention to detail. All exterior painting was done efficiently, cleanly and precisely. He does what he says, and stuck to his estimate. There weren't any surprises as he contemplated as many possible complications as he could find before the estimate. Gino goes the extra mile and aims to please in all ways. He's friendly and very creative. Besides all that, he's a wonderful human being who cares about the planet and people, and doing a good job. Bravo Gino!

We are very happy with the overall results but Gino did have significant weather/nature challenges in Los Osos.

He shows up on time, is extremely neat and works fast. He finished on time and it looked great when he was done. He even came back to touch up the walls because the acid from the trees left some stains and he did this just before a party we had so the walls looked great for it. He goes above and beyond.

I contacted him. He came out to estimate and gave me a quote including furniture moving and said it would take 2 days. We agreed on a start date and he showed up when he said he would. He worked from 8:30 in the morning to 7 in the evening the first day so he could move all our furniture back into place and he completely cleaned up the room so we could sleep in it. The second day, he did closets and trim. He left the place completely clean with no paint spots anywhere. The job was perfect.

I am a picky person, but Gino was relaxed through the entire process and was patient while I changed my mind on colors three times. He also resolved every issue concerning quality. His initial timeframe was seven days, but the actual work took about 10 days separated by a couple of weeks because of a scheduling conflict. I would use his services again and have recommended him to another homeowner who was seeking a reliable, honest and hard-working painter.

Gino shows up on time, is professional, honest, affordable and the best painter we've ever had. We had several bids on our Tahoe house and he is competitive but worth much more because of his great attention to detail. He also cleans up completely when he's finished and is much faster than other painters! He is the kind of person that goes the extra mile to make sure you're happy. We would highly recommend him to anyone for any painting job interior or exterior. Our house looks great!

I haven't gotten any comparative estimates yet. He was here for a long time and explained everything that I might want to know about the job. He does it all himself so it would take a long time.

We decided not to go with them because of the price and not because they were not a good company. They were about $1000 more than the company we decided to go with and we went with $5400. It was also going to take longer because he was one person doing the job. He was going to work long hours from 7am to 7pm with a two hour break in the middle and that just didn't work with our lifestyle. I know that he is excellent from people who have used him. We wanted him to paint the exterior with the same color that we already have. It was the same color trim as well. He knows that his price is higher than other people who are bidding but he is comfortable getting jobs with high end payment. We won't be using him because we can't afford him.

The antique dresser was stained, pretty beat up, and kind of hopeless looking before Gino took it home. It is now a lovely piece of furniture again. Gino loves what he is doing and it shows in his treatment of the furniture and of his respect of the customer.

My husband and I just moved into a new, very white house. We were a few weeks away from having our TV mounted on the wall when I realized that if we were going to paint the wall we'd better do it before the TV went up. I found Gino through Angie's List, and he was able to provide an initial color consultation and estimate within days. (If I hadn't phoned him between Christmas and New Year's I'm sure it would have been sooner.) Gino was extremely patient, knowledgeable, and friendly throughout the entire process - he dealt with my manic indecision on paint colors with a smile, and gave me heaps of great advice on how to sample and test the ones I was interested in. After finally deciding on the colors, he started the job and explained what he was doing as he did it, which not only revealed his skill and expertise, but also made me VERY happy I hadn't tried to do it myself. He completed the four biggest rooms in my house in three days, and exceeded my expectations on every level. I'll definitely use his service again when I decide what to do with the rest of my white walls!
