I highly recommend Romarts. I am so happy I decided to work with Romarts. I have a small galley kitchen. I wanted to replace the existing countertops and add a tile backsplash. I was a small job and I didn’t want to use a contractor/remodeling company. I worked Andreea. I told her what I wanted and she showed me a few samples. They were exactly what I wanted. She didn’t try to push more expensive products. I was very happy with the outcome. The workers were polite and professional. They showed up on time (one day they were early!). This is the first project I had completed on time!

Not cheap, but an excellent outcome and experience
Description of Work: Amazing countertop for an outdoor kitchen.
Romarts was fantastic. They are extremely professional, the folks doing the work were really great and on short notice, they were able to some how fit my projects in. Their prices were fair. I have two areas for improvement - (1) the countertops take 2 weeks from date of measurement to install - that seems like a long time. (2) I wish more care was taken to clean up debris and dust after each day.
Description of Work: Initially, I hired Romarts to do only my countertops, but when my handyman husband decided to take off mid-kitchen-remodel, I was left with a whole lot of work and no one to do it. George from Romarts stepped in and gave me fair prices on most of the remaining work. I had them do plumbing, cabinet installation, plywood for the countertop support, counters, dry wall and a pony wall for my island.

Michael (one of their sales reps) came to our new home with samples of cabinet doors, quartz, and granite. He was about 30min late for the appointment, but with a good reason -- I only took the punctuality down to a B for it because after talking to the owner, I believe him when he says that they are never late in delivering a job (and that is way more important than one sales call). Michael was helpful, taking us through the process and doing a bid on the spot -- something we got from no other contractor we have spoken to. It was a good bid so we put down $100 and said we would go visit their shop. The reason for the other B is that Michael was a little heavy on the sale close for our taste, but not enough to keep us from going forward (a heavy close attempt is a show-stopper for us). The day after the in-home visit we went up to their shop in San Leandro (by the way, if you go do NOT follow the directions from Apple iPhone maps to their address -- it took us to the opposite side of San Leandro; their place is to the west of 880). We met the owner, George, who helped us understand different granite edging options and showed us the granite they had. He even showed how on L's in a kitchen countertop they often cut it as one piece from slab quartz so there is no seam. We then went up to the cabinet factory in Oakland a couple miles away (in a bad neighborhood, but low land cost for factories is a good thing). Nick, who runs the cabinet shop, was very nice and gave us a tour and showed what he could do with styles, stains, and paints. Prior to going up we were concerned about the cabinet quality because the samples Michael had with him weren't good (he said they were old and not representative, and he was sure right). The shop had advanced tools and the cabinets were very high quality. Nick had an amazing amount of styles to choose from and he can match any color you bring in. The next step would have been for Nick and Michael to come to our place to take the detailed measurements and do a detailed 3D design. We ended up cancelling that appointment because of the reason given in the section above (no fault of Romarts). We called and told them to keep the hundred dollars we put down (which by the contract they could have), and George was really nice and said he would send our check back (and did it). If you are looking for custom granite or quartz and/or cabinets I definitely recommend checking them out.
Description of Work: Romarts provided a good bid to remodel our kitchen. The bid included 1) demo of the kitchen including removal of a soffet, 2) making and installing 42 linear feet of custom cabinets, quartz countertops, and granite bar, 3) moving a divider wall, 4) putting in a vent to the outside, 5) full backsplash tiling, 6) installation of sink and appliances, and 7) putting in new LED, pendant, and under-cabinet lights and some electrical. We visited their granite and cabinets shops, and we were very impressed. The cabinets were full custom, appeared to be higher quality than the semi-custom from all the lines we'd seen like Dynasty, Medallion, etc, and at a lower cost. In the end, we decided to take a risk (as far as quality) with really low-cost pre-made, in-stock, Chinese cabinet supplier instead because it worked better for our very tight schedule and budget.

The scheduler had the designer first come out. He had lots of small samples (3 x 4and quot;) of different granite and quartz samples. I kept telling him that I didn't like any of them. But he made me choose one. I asked some lady friends if they liked it and when I told the scheduler that, he said and quot;don't ask anyone because it was up to meand quot;. I asked to have a 12and quot; sample and at one time they said they had dropped it off, but they hadn't. I decided to go to a Fabrication Company and I found a Silestone Quartz that I liked. Romarts said that they already had my original order and that this would cost me an additional $375 because the slab was bigger. That was okay with me. The communication between us was not good. I finally started emailing them but it would still take four days to hear from them. They had to sand down the cabinets and even though they put up plastic the dust went everywhere. They spray painted the cabinets with a plastic cylinder going out my window. Two drawers were not completed correctly so they had to be redone. The doors were done somewhere else. The whole job was finally completed and it does look nice. I am happy it is done.
Description of Work: Refaced existing cabinets in two bathrooms and installed new doors and new quartz counter-tops and the same to a hall cabinet.

Romarts brought countertop samples to our home for us to see how they would look in our kitchen. They provided a lot of guidance on how to select material for the counters and backsplash (a new experience for us). The quotation included the cost of the counter material and a new sink. We provided the new disposal and faucet which they installed. We also selected and provided a 12 tile mural which they integrated into the large backsplash behind the stove top. We also selected a new range hood which we installed ourselves. Romarts worked with us to make sure all of these new items would integrate into the overall design. The accuracy of their measurements and templates was absolutely correct. The sections of countertop that were finished in their shop fit together perfectly in our home and the seams are hard to find. It was a very professional design and installation. They would clean up their work area every day. We worked with a total of eight different people from Romarts in the various phases of the project and they all did their jobs efficiently and professionally.
Description of Work: Romarts removed the old tile kitchen countertops and replaced them with new quartz countertops. They replaced some water damaged wood and installed a new sink, disposal and faucet.

Fair - some of the people we dealt with were great, others, not so great. Not sure that they do many kitchen remodel projects from start to finish. Seems like the are very excellent a counter tops and selection of counter tops. Cabinets are great as well and lots of selection. Working with the person who quoted us the pricing was good. He brought samples to our home so we could see them in our light from where the remodel was going to happen and not a show room. That was a plus and working with him was good. Working with the cabinet person and creating a new layout for the kitchen was a huge task and it went really well with the person who did the cabinet layout - gave us some options on where to moved things as we were re-arranging everything! Working with the Lead Contractor was not so good. Besides the point that he was not her during most of the job, he left for vacation near the end of the job and we never saw him again. He was hard to contact so we worked with the sub contractors who were her 90% of the time. The and quot;demo guyand quot; was a relative who shouldn't have been in my house - Besides the fact that he damaged the new refrigerator on the way in with dings and scratches on the entire front - I ended up having to order an entire new fridge and they made good on paying for it. BUT... they made the person pay for it out of his wages and he confronted me on that - and that was really uncomfortable. I asked that he not return to my house and he did - just to pick up his newly purchased refrigerator - which was another whole ordeal. The subcontractors who did the flooring, paint, and tile were awesome and would call them back in a heartbeat. The Contractor who did our bathroom was also just as awesome. The guy who did the plumbing was strange, but did a great job. The owner of the company was also great to work with... but having all the family come to do some of the work... not so good. They do know how to do counters and would recommend that they keep just doing that especially if they are going to sub everything else out. They are often at lots of home fair's and such... but the sales person there, is just that... a sales guy. Stick with the countertops if you go with them. All in all, my kitchen and bathroom are beautiful for all we went through.
