Kevin is very professional and knows what he is doing. The work he did was great. The problem is it was difficult to get him to call me back and to set an appointment. Once he finished this project I called him to work on another project. This time, he cancelled the appointment and never did call me back to reschedule.

Very organized, professional. Unbelievably clean. They laid down tarps to capture what was being thrown down, and the area was immaculate at the end of the day. (Truth be told, cleaner than when they arrived.) Very careful about not leaving nails and other debris behind. They seemed to be using the latest technology, including new equipment and vehicles. They were able to construct a new attic entrance; the old one was tiny and in a precarious position above a stairwell. They even offered to remove boxes out of the existing attic which was an immense help to me. They reviewed the work in progress, and recommended mid-way that I use a different vent system for the roofline, based on actual dimensions and need. Good call. The entire crew was friendly and accommodating. You can't go wrong with this service.

Out of all the roofers I interviewed and requested quotes (about 8 - by completing the request for quote twice, weeks apart) only half replied. Out of the half, only 3 provided proper quotes. K Reed was not the lowest quote. They were at the middle. HOWEVER, the quality of the products they use and the quality of work to be completed far exceed the other roofers and their standard roofing requirements/specifications. The plus was that they were able to work around my schedule. They accommodated my requests and completed the work as requested. They cleaned up after each day of work. The whole roof project completed without any drama. And, the results exceeded my expectations. Kevin Reed was very professional from day one. If I had another property in NorCal, I would use them again. I would also refer them to everyone in his service area for any roofing needs. You can beat this friendly, diligent, honest, and hard working roofing company. Enough said.

Kevin was responsive from the beginning. He came out looked at my house in Oakland and talked to me about the issue I had which were a couple of leaks (one on each side of the house under eaves) that although had been "repaired" numerous times in the past continued to leak each rainy season. He explained how the previous repairs had been done based on evidence on the roof and explained the right way to fix them rather than just putting a band aid on it which would not withstand the test of time. He took pictures and explained what he saw on the roof in terms of other issues. It was clear from the start that he knew his stuff. He was personable and was able to explain all the options available. He was good at listening and quickly understood what I was looking for. Initially, I was thinking I wanted to just get the leaks fixed. He provided me with an estimate for that work. In the meantime, I thought about what he said and about the other work that I was having done on the house. I decided I wanted to get an estimate for having the whole roof done, too. He quickly provided that to me. I had a number of estimates for the jobs. Kevin's was not the cheapest. At first, I was concerned about that. As I looked through the other estimates (and spoke to Kevin about them), it was clear that the difference in price was justified by the quality of work being done and the quality of materials being used. No one else was able to give a 10 year guarantee. No other estimate was detailed in terms of the exact materials they would be using and the exact techniques they would employ. Part of my concern about this project was that I was out of the country when it was done. I had a painter/color consultant who is very demanding and malicious check in on Kevin's work. Here is what she had to say: "Kevin was very communicative during the entire process...the roofers were punctual, clean, careful, detailed, did a great clean-up job at the end of EVERY day on the job, began and completed when they said, polite workers, took extra attention to looking for anything potentially *funky* that might've been discovered underneath the old roof (thank goodness NOTHING was found!), AND, they did stucco repair to the portions of the house where the roofing was affecting the surface as well as new board replacement to certain portions of the eves where the roof had rotten sections. They really were very thorough and mindful of the desired scheduling so that the next contractor - the painting contractor - could begin THEIR job so that the entire project could move along for rental of the property to occur." I can't recommend Kevin and his team highly enough. Because of the active leak, Kevin worked to get this project into his schedule quickly. He was very proactive communicating with me and sending me pictures as I was not on site. He worked well with my painters and property manager. I would use him again in a heart beat (but don't imagine I will need him again on this property!) and recommend him highly with no reservation. If I could give them an A+ I would. I was great to have total trust and piece of mind with them working on this project.

K. Reed uses high quality materials and does excellent work and cleanup. They are very busy, so schedule well in advance. Thanks to radiant barrier sheeting and reflective shingles, living room is cooler in summer. We are having them do rear roof this year (2012).

I was really happy with them. I was happy with his knowledge and the information he brought to the table. I was really happy with everything he did. He gave me a quote of about $25000 for doing the job. I had to call him a few times to get the written estimate back to me. He was there on time and that wasn't an issue. His price is on the high side and I found the same level of service for about $6000 less than his quote from another service provider, and that is really substantial to me.

The crew was on time did an excellent job they cleaned up after each day very friendly crew I would have K Reed roofing do any future roofing jobs for me

They have excellent workmanship, the owner is very personable and we've enjoyed interacting with him. I think we got a really good roof. When there was a leak while we were waiting for it to be finished they were out promptly to repair it. The only down fall is that we've had to wait a while to get the roof done. He's a one man show and they are busy.

They service went very well, they were quite easy to work with! They are very thorough and did a great job of cleaning up after themselves!
