Bob's Tree Stump and Removal Service

Bob was incredibly reasonable and efficient in removing 6 troublesome stumps from our yard. He was a lifesaver.

Day of estimate, Bob showed up within the window of time discussed; brought a collaborator with him. They had to assess how to get the tree out - either going up the hill to my street or through a neighbor's property down the hill to a street below. The latter option had the advantage of gravity, but there's always a risk in carrying loads of debris across a neighbor's property. My neighbor agreed to that route. They gave me an estimate of time and cost based on an estimation of a full work-day. We bargained a bit and set the day/price. Day of work - the two of them brought a third person and finished the job in half a workday (no discount for that since it was a fixed bid). They traversed my neighbor's property, cleaned up after themselves, were efficient and did the job well ! Bottom line, they got the job done quickly and efficiently. They were not the lowest bidder but the element of 'quick, efficient, and well done' has value to me.

Responsive to calls, reasonable on price, completed work quickly, did not trim as much of the tree as I wanted, but worked with me on it and he is the expert

The crew had an equipment problem the morning of the job, and Bob called immediately to let me know. A repair was effected and they arrived ready to begin. Bob and his crew explained exactly how the job would be done. After approving the approach, they began the work and were soon done. I was actually surprised at how quickly the work was completed, and Bob explained that stump grinding experience is a big factor and that some tree services offer it but don't necessarily specialize it it. After the job, we examined the backyard stumps and he suggested that he not grind them (passing on $600-800 in additional fees,) and he instead grabbed his chainsaw and trimmed four of them to ground height for an additional $25. Bob is a friendly, honest and genuine man and was a pleasure to work with. Based on my initial experience, I hired Bob again for another stump grinding job, which he also quickly performed to our specifications. Bob's gets my highest recommendation.
