This company feels like a scam. We had just purchased our home and it was inspected prior to our purchase but we just wanted to double check the attic; we had not had any evidence of rodents or other problems. The representative came out and put on gear and mask that looked like he was anticipating chemical weapons. After a few minutes he came back and I asked how it looked. He said pretty bad; he wanted to show me pictures of all of the rodent activity, and he quoted a treatment that would cost about $4,000. I was shocked by th e pictures and the quote, and asked him to see the date on the pictures. He fumbled around and said that that was really embarassing, and never convinced me that the pictures came from our house. I declined to go up in the attic with him. When I told him that the cost seemed extraordinarily high, he called his office and said that they had a big job in Palo Alto that they were finishing up and that they could discount the cost because they had some extra material and that they could come over right away (it was about 11:00 am). He was very pushy and the whole thing did not feel right. We decided not to do any work with them, and plan to have a regular inspector come and take a look since the previous owners are not aware of any problems in the attic. I later read that this behavior appears to be a pattern with this company and I would not recommend working with them. I called them from an ad in a home improvement flyer not through Angie's list. Had I looked them up on Angie's List, I wouldn't have called them.

Ariel arrived ontime, inspected inside, outside, and underneath house for signs of rodents and entry points. Listened to our description of problem areas, took photos of cracks, entry points, droppings, and signs of rodent damage. Also took photos of moisture & mildew issues current mositure barrier hadn't prevented. Offered Senior Discount and 1 Yr Warranty - no payment until work performed to our satisfaction. With dead animal smell growing in one room - needed work done asap. Ariel called office, had team assembled and onsite within 2 hours. Prepared house, taping down black plastic from front door to under house access point. Josh arrived, introduced himself as project manager, entire team in protective clothing and shoe covering. Not a second of downtime once they arrived - every team member constantly busy. Sections of old moisture barrier and rocks came up in sealed black bags, not a drop of dirt in the house. Josh reported findings, always with a solution. Also made special trip under house to rewrap duct covering rodents had shredded. William treated issues he saw as though they were in his home - very particular. Ariel stayed involved, ensured all problem areas he'd observed were covered. Team members still doing touchups as others cleaning up. I will not hesitate to call on this company again - they were excellent. Atticare should be very proud.

Spent adequate time in the crawlspace, very little in the attic. None on roof. Incomplete walk around the outside. Found rats, did not spend the time to help me figure out where they are getting in. If they can't spend the time & effort to find the rat entrance/holes, why do they bother offering this inspection service? Seems to me they only fix obvious problems, not really concerned with helping people fix issues with smaller critters. Sure I can find a hole that a skunk can fit in...

Atticare'S 3-men crew did good job in attic cleaning and reinsulation; but they did not even ask me about the crawl space which was promised by the salesman and written in the order. I have to ask them to go to crawl space. They filled some gaps but also said there are no gaps and holes surounded the house. This is not true because I have shown the salesman the day before and he said they will cover the holes and cover with steel mesh. Overall, with the $3,000 high price, I think they should do a much better job other than just the attic. Therefore,I could not give them high rating, nor recommend them to others.

Atticare was professional and pretty much consistent throughout our relationship with them. Upon our first call to them, the call went to voicemail, and they called back immediately. They scheduled a free inspection, and quoted us a price below their minimum, because we had such a small space to handle. The price was very reasonable based on our conversations with other vendors for what we'd be getting. We truly appreciated this as another service that had been recommended to us and who had come to give us a bid charged $75 just for the inspection, gave us only a verbal report, and quoted us an exorbitant price that would have required us to go into debt. Atticare could also handle all of the different things we needed to have done and all in one visit, which was not the case with other vendors we contacted, who said we would need to contact different vendors they recommended for different services and coordinate all of those services ourselves. Another thing we liked about Atticare was that we were able to schedule the inspection for a Sunday, so we didn't have to take time off of work to be home for the inspection. We received a confirmation call the day before. The inspector arrived promptly, was friendly and professional. He investigated our garage, which is where we needed to have work done, and then offered to inspect our house, too, explaining it was free and it would be good be sure rodents hadn't moved inside. During that inspection, he gave us free advice about our insulation but didn't pressure us to give Atticare work. It was very helpful, and we felt, above and beyond. We scheduled to have Atticare work on our garage the following Saturday. We gave a very reasonable deposit on the spot. Atticare called later in the week and apologized and said they had to reschedule. We were a little disappointed, because we wanted to get the work done, but it wasn't a big deal. They were able to come the following Sunday, which again we appreciated not having to take off time from work for this job, and the delay gave us extra time to prepare. We again received a confirmation call the day before the work was to be done, and we were told that we would receive a call half an hour before the team would arrive, and they would arrive within a two-hour window. We didn't receive a call within that two-hour window, so we called the main office (which was open on a Sunday!), where they checked on it and and called us back to say the team would be there in half an hour. It was more like an hour before they showed up. That said, the team was efficient and ready to do work. We were happy with the results. When we inspected directly after they did the work, we found things that had not been done thoroughly, and when we brought it up with the team lead, there were no questions about it. He had the team go back and do the work. When the inspector had come a couple of weeks before, he had said that the team would help disinfect items we wanted to keep, and while again we had to remind the team of this, they were friendly and accommodating in helping us with that work. It was a big, intense job, and they were a big help. They did what they said they'd do (though they forgot a couple of things, easily an oversight) and overall their work was quality. And they left extra supplies with us. We were able to pay with a credit card electronically on the spot - no need to call an office or send a check. Also, the inspector had told us that they could give us rat traps as a precaution. The team leader didn't have any in his van, so he promised to drop them by later that evening. He did. It had been a long day, and it was dark when he came by, but he kept his word, and we really appreciated that. Atticare wasn't perfect, but all things that were different as promised were minor, and they fixed them. They were all about service and convenience. We had a very good experience with them.

We communicated over the phone. I asked if they could just clean behind my stove, rather than in the attic and basement (which I don't have). They said no, and the best thing to do was to contact Angie's list for a refund.

They had to do a lot more work. They were excellent. I told the guy that I work a lot and I’m never here. The guy said he could make it out today, I couldn’t believe it. They left everything spotless. They were here from11am-9pm. They showed me the before and after pictures. It was amazing.

Atticare was supposed to perform a FULL home inspection to find potential rodent entry points. They did not perform a complete inspection as they were supposed to do. They performed an inspection of the attic but failed to complete a full inspection of the house exterior as they were supposed to do. The Angie's List deal required them to inspect the exterior of my home looking for any gaps near the foundation where rodents could gain access, as well as looking near soffits, dormer joints, and many other common areas where they could also gain access. Although I had requested Atticare to perform the additional $49 Basic Cleaning of rodent droppings and waste in the attic during this same visit, they refused to do this service. The technician contacted his manager and then told me that they did not perform this service for the $49 upcharge that is part of the Angie's List Deal. I showed him the printed Angie's List Deal and he read the contract and told me that I would need to contact his manager. It is obvious that Atticare never intended to honor the terms of the deal. Atticare didn't perform the thorough inspection of my house that they were contracted to perform. Atticare performed an incomplete inspection of my house and then refused to do any additional work to comply with the terms of the deal. It is obvious that Atticare offers these great deals only to gain entry into a customer's home and hopefully get the customer to purchase $3,000 - $4,000 of additional services. When I told the technician that I would not be purchasing these additional services from them, he told me that he could not perform the contracted services because he didn't have the proper equipment with him and then left my house. I contacted the Atticare office and asked them why the technician did not perform the $49 Basic Cleaning of my attic that I requested be done during this service call. I was placed on hold and the customer service representative came back on the call and told me that she had spoken to her manager as well as the technician and that they would refund my $49 Angie's List Deal as they did not want to perform all the contracted services. Buyers beware. This company did not do a good job, did not perform all requested services, and having them come to my house was a complete waste of my time.

With recent construction on our home we discovered several areas in our house that had been previously occupied by rats. We wanted to take this opportunity to clean up the mess and remove the smell while other work was being performed on the property. We contacted Atticare for a quote and were able to arrange an inspection appointment in a timely manner. Upon arriving at our house, the Atticare representative took a very cursory look at our attic and crawlspace and immediately began to pitch a full attic insulation replacement service, ignoring our request for a quote to also clean up the crawlspace. Inspections from other rodent cleanup companies all felt that only surface cleaning was required and the attic insulation was in good condition and did not require replacement. The representative did not take no for an answer and began to lower his (exorbitant) price for full insulation replacement. At this point I just wanted him to leave and told him that I would get back to him if I changed my mind. Needless to say we went with another company. It was not a good experience and I would caution anyone considering using this company's services to get multiple quotes before proceeding.

They offered to clean an attic in a vacant rental house by their advertisement for a fee of $95.00. When they arrived to inspect the property they said they would not clean the attic unless they could insulated it for a cost of $1,000. So their advertisement was a false lead to perform more services only. This is a firm engaging in false advertisement.

We saw their add in local magazine. Called them and tech arrived - on time - the next day. Two days later they had three man team come by to fix The Problem. Our problem was a rodent infestation in our crawl space. We would find a spot where they were entering, poison it, and block their entry (under our attached deck). Then rodent would die in crawl space and we would have terrible stench for at least a week. They removed all contaminated insulation and decomposed rodents, blocked the interior entries, installed new insulation, and vacuumed entire crawl space. Great Job!

The crew thoroughly cleaned out the insulation and repaired the vents. In the past, I had asked quite a few handymen to repair the vents, but they were unwilling to do it. Atticare did a good job of repairing the vents. For what they did, the price seems high, but they performed the job well. The crew should get a portable bathroom, or ask before availing themselves of the facilities.
