We bought a coupon but couldn't connect with the provider. I ended up getting a refund. He may be great, but I think the coupons slammed him. I don't want to give him a poor rating bc I really don't know the quality of his work.

He contacted me immediately after purchasing the Big Deal and I emailed him back telling him I would get in contact with him when we were ready to do the work.

He was great about communicating and scheduling the deal for me. His painting was fine but his lines near the ceiling were a little shaky and uneven (I am VERY picky though). He was a great guy who I would hire for small jobs again but I don't think I would use him for an entire house.

He did an very good job of painting the room and cleaned up nicely when he was done. However, it did take nearly three months to get him to do it. He said that he had trouble using the Angie's List messaging system and thus did not respond in a timely manner to my repeated requests for an appointment.

Very professional, good clean up and great job. Very rapid but well done work. Good personality and listened attentively. He gave me an estimate for further painting and is very reasonable. Will most likely call him back for further interior and exterior painting needs.

Don't even bother calling this guy. He is a disaster. After postponing the appointment several times today he has not shown up or even bothered to call back. . . . he just didn't show! He probably didn't have my correct address. Lots of problems with this guy. For starters, look at how he spells "professional" . . . . he spells it "proffesional". Okay, okay, he's just a bad speller. But I had problems to start when I told him there was extra trim work in the room that needed painting. I told him (via email), that I understood if he needed to charge more than just the Big Deal Price. AT that point, he did not offer to come look at it and give me a quote, nor did he even list his rates. All he said in his email was "Don't worry, I'll take care of you!" Huh? What does that mean? After we set up the time for him to paint, he gave me a time of day he would arrive. . .around 9:30 am. I was ready and waiting and when he didn't show by 9:45 called him. He said, that he had scheduled us for the afternoon. HUH? No way. There was also no way he could have gotten all the work done in the afternoon! I don't think he even remembered that there was trim work and that we had discussed the need for two coats of paint. I don't think this guy takes notes and even remembers who he even has signed up for work. There is something going on with him. I sadly think (sorry to get personal), there is some learning disabiltyl stuff going on. Sorry for his troubles, but he should not offer a professional service if he cannot keep up with his schedule or the nature of the painting jobs.

Michael Layfield was punctual, neat, efficient and friendly and even painted the baseboards and window sill which I needed but was not originally discussed. The delay from the Nov. date of purchase to the Jan. 7, 2014 was my choice, not a problem with him. I am thrilled to finally have a painter I can trust!

I bought my first house and sellers have left the walls in bad condition. Additionally seller damaged the bullnose on two walls in the family room during the move process. I had no prior experience with painters and was quite scared about the cost and quality. I was very disappointed by the look of the walls. I requested three painters to give quotes, but Michael?s quote was in my budget and very reasonable. Initially I requested him to paint only the master bed, family room and kitchen. I was not sure about the quality of work, but I was unnecessarily anxious. He did awesome paint job and diligently worked over on Saturday and Sunday. Those rooms have got a sudden uplift in their looks. I was very impressed by his work and requested him to paint rest of house. Even though an impromptu request and given his busy schedule, he was humble to understand my urgency and was able to accommodate me to do this work very next day. He came up with an excellent plan and was able to paint everything in a day. We have asked him to color red/pink over black which according to all painters we met in paint store is very challenging. He took the challenge and painted the room to red/pink color with multiple coats. I can only think of words such as awesome, reliable, reasonable, efficient, excellent, diligent, trustworthy etc. Can?t think of any downside of the work he performed.

bought on 10/23 and 1st contact with Michael was on 10/31. He stated 1st appointment available was 11/16. On 11/5 heard back from him and he said he was mistaken 1st appointment was 11/18. Gave him my name again, address again, and phone # again. On 11/12 had not heard from him so I email are we still on for the 18th he said he would get back to me ASAP. Have not heard from him since.

He never got in touch with me to get the job scheduled. I needed the job done at a certain time and I never heard from him. The job has been completed by a different company.

I put in several dates for the work to be done. Did emails thru Angie's list. Also,called service provider on 11/06. No return phone call. Then on 11/11 he sent email saying he was overwhelmed with the response (which is a good thing) but he was going to work on a schedule and get back to me in two days. No response. Called him on 11/14 and again he said that he would call me that night and see how his schedule was. Did not hear from him, so therefore, I would like my credit card refunded. This is a amendment to the above. I was under a time constraint, but, due to the fact that Proffessional Painting had such a overwhelming response, I realized that he would not be able to do the painting during my timeline. Therefore, I cancelled the order with Angie's list. Really hard to rate a company if they have not done the work.

Not good as of today (11-4-2013), I still have no response to set up a day to paint. I have emailed them numerous times with my phone number for them to call me. It was to paint a small condo in Laguna Niguel, that was a rental.

We are very happy with the results. The house was last painted 10 years ago and naturally showed some wear and tear, but now it looks like new inside. Michael did the painting personally with an assistant and they were both pleasant and easy to work with. The timing was exactly as agreed. I am happy to recommend Professional Painting.

He's honest. He did excellent work. He does what he says he is going to do. There was some miscommunication with one of his workers. When I brought up the issue, he responded right away and had the worker come and fix it the next day.
