Mike is an upfront honest and straight shutting guy. He doesn't require any money upfront and didn't ask for progress payments until the work was done. He has a great crew and he takes care of them. The job was left clean every day. All you need to do is have patience because he is in so much demand, he has a back log of work.

Mike spent a great deal of time taking measurements and discussing the project with my husband. He advised us that he uses only his own crew on his payroll and also provides work comp on all employees and all licensing for what services he provides. That is important to many people. Unfortunately, his pricing was just out of our price-range and was the highest bid above the paving company that we had complete the front a couple of years ago. His ratings were very good and as a professional contractor with a private business, I know it is tough to compete, but we just couldn't come up with the extra $10,000 over what we ended up paying for another company.

On time and on budget

Called Mike on 06/04/2013 and explained that I was looking for someone to install the travertine pavers that I had purchased earlier. He said was currently at another job, but would come look at what I wanted to do at the end of the day and true to his word, showed up promptly at 5:00 pm. The job consisted of knocking out the old concrete pool deck, installing a base for the stone, installing the pavers and hauling away all debris. Wrote an estimate that was very reasonable and said he could do it on 06/07/2013. Mike and his crew arrived at 7:00 AM. Everyone was courteous and professional, and they completed the job later in the afternoon, cleaned up and other than the awesome job they did, you would never know they were here. Would hire them again in a heart beat.

He was awesome and exceeded our expectations. He was fairly priced. He managed his crew on the job site in person. He called and followed up about a month after the work was completed.

We called our previous paver supplier asking for a recommendation for someone to repair our jumbled paving (gophers! and a slump in our driveway.) Mike Kinney called within an hour and came out to give an estimate, which was very reasonable. Then he suggested that we might want to improve our landscaping by adding a boulder planter area on both sides of our (short) drive. His quote for this was also very reasonable, so we agreed. He and two helpers came the next day and finished the job in half a day. We are so pleased at the results! We not only got the repair, which is seamless, but also a wonderful artistic landscape upgrade that pleases us every time we come home, all for an incredibly reasonable price!
