+ -1 moreThe hardest part was figuring out how to design the system for our 3 level condo in Laguna Beach. After talking with many others, Michael Johnson was the only one that came up with a logical, practice, economical and effective solution. We decided on a split system for heating and air, with a slim condenser outside (our HOA has tons of rules and regulations so not easy).
Description of Work: I contacted Michael Johnson about a small HVAC system for our condo in laguna beach. There are 3 levels so it is quite complicated. Mr. Johnson was responsive, prompt and very knowledgeable about our needs. He came out that very day and took the time to realize analyze the situation. He asked me a lot of questions and then came up with a perfect design. No one else did all of this. They recommended a "split system" for our condo which is perfect!! The equipment is high quality based upon my subsequent research and comes with excellent warranties. We are going with this company. Greg

+ -1 moreHad a very bad experience from another company that wanted to charge me over $5k and took the blower assembly. When I canceled the job because of the outrageous price this company would not return the blower assembly. With help from this company and a of other people I was able to get the blower assembly back. Mark Hassinger then sent an installer over at 7am the next day to check that all parts were working to proper specifications. The blower assembly never did have anything wrong in my opinion but Marks' installer made sure that the previous company installed it properly added the filter and measured the amount of heat and air coming out ofthe ducts were correct.
Description of Work: Ensure proper functioning of heating and A/C equipment after blower assembly was installed by others.

+ -1 moreOn January 14, 2010, Hassinger walked off of the job at my residence and violated the terms of our contract for the installation of a heating and a/c system. In August, 2012 Hassinger was found by the courts to have violated the law and was ordered to pay me $33,223.00 in damages and restitution. As of January 10, 2013, Hassinger has refused to pay the court ordered restitution. I had to have Hassinger's bonding company pay a small portion of the restitution. In addition, the Contractor's State License Board is currently investigating Hassinger for violations of contractors license law regarding abandonment of job, failure to pay a judgment and operating without a valid contractors license. The CSLB has currently suspended the business license until the judgment has been paid in full or a settlement/payment plan is agreed upon.
Description of Work: Purchase and installation of new heating and air conditioning unit for a 13,000 square foot residence.

Description of Work: the work was semi-annual PM service contract for out HVAC. They scheduled an appointment with a 2 hour window, called to let me know when they would arrive, arrived on time. The technician, Rob, took his shoes off when working inside the house, explained what he was doing and left no mess behind. Hassinger HVAC did the original installation two years ago. Mark Hassinger was one of three bids we had and we selected him as he made the initial sales call with us (other two sent salemen). His bid was on par with the others. The actual installation was a good experience as the crew was neat and clean, let us know what they were doing, protected our property from damage, worked quitely and were freindly. They took the time to show us how everything worked and everything has worked perfectly. I recommend this company and thier employees.
