The cabinets and new drawer and door fronts: It was obvious that he took shorts cuts. He told me me he was going to sand existing cabinets, clean before spraying first coat. He said he was going to sand between coats -( this is standard practice for this type of work to achieve smooth results). He cleaned with TSP and proceeded to prime - no sand. I never saw any sand paper until the following week only after we complained about bumpiness. A lot of areas he didn't bother caulking as he said he was planning to do. He did not properly sand between coats as there were many doors and drawers fronts that had particulates all over them - they looked bumpy and felt bumpy. Not smooth like he told me they would be. We had him redo many and he proceeded to sand aggressively to remove bumps - resulting in deep scratches that were difficult to cover with the the new coat of spray. A lot of areas around existing cabinets in the kitchen were not touched at all by primer or paint. He did not go back to recheck with a fine brush to fix these areas. I will be doing this myself now as I have lost complete trust. The newly installed moulding - same issues. Particulates, deep scratches from aggressive sanding, on and on. Things he quoted saying include: "I don't have patience for fine detail work." And, I was around a corner in my house and I over heard him say to his helper; "F**# it, this is faster." I walked around the corner and over to him and he was clearly surprised I was right there. There were days he was gone -obviously do another job - leaving his poor helper by himself. Then end result here was the entire job took ridiculously long and both of them were rushing threw all my expensive moulding and doors. His helper told me he had to tell him to "slow down." The end result - sloppy workmanship at our expense. Bottom line: Go elsewhere. There are a lot of painters out there. This painter overextends himself - more concerned about booking as much work as possible to make the most money. He rushes because he's stressed about getting to his next job - which he later admitted to me. My cabinet installer also pointed out to me all the things this painter missed and all the flaws.

Everything was washed and prepped properly and even the detail work around the newly installed fireplace stone was carefully treated. The paint job was flawless and I could not be happier. The total cost included the top rated Benjamin Moore premium paint. I will happily use William again.
Description of Work: William has done work for me before removing water damage and refinishing my kitchen cabinet when everyone else wanted to replace the cabinets totally. This time, I needed my living room, hallway, entryway, and 8 door surfaces repainted after some remodeling. The front door had some crosshatching detail but I was not charged extra. William and his helper came a couple of days early to do the living room ceiling so that the contractors could complete their ceiling light replacements. He then returned to do the rest of the walls and doors.

Put simply, the wall looks right. You can't see that it was patched, which has not been my experience with patch jobs by other contractors. He was a pleasure to deal with and kept in touch throughout the project which, though small, required repeated visits as various layers of patch, primer and paint dried. Fortunately, he had larger jobs in our area so the cost remained low as he fit us in around them.
Description of Work: I removed a wooden bar that had been glued and screwed to the wall. In removing it, some of the wall texture was removed, down to the drywall paper layer. William patched the drywall, applied and matched texture to the surrounding wall, and repainted the area.

William is the ultimate professional. It took me 5 months to find the right person to refinish my kitchen cabinets, but it was worth the wait. He and Jesse carefully masked over the exposed areas of the kitchen, including all the drawers so I didn't even have to empty them, the counters, stovetop, sink, fridge, dishwasher, etc. They covered the floors and partitioned off the kitchen from the rest of the house so that the dust and fumes would not cause problems. The cabinets were in good shape overall and were too nice to replace or reface, but they did have some moisture damage from being in the kitchen, especially on the detailed surfaces where the moisture had gotten under the topcoat. They sanded, lightly stained and put three topcoats of protection. The cabinets and drawers look terrific and he saved me many dollars that I would have had to pay using alternative methods. I am going to have him work on my fireplace as well.
Description of Work: Repaired moisture damaged maple cabinets and refinished them to match existing upper cabinets.

William is quite skilled and really knows paint, painting and contracting. He doesn't fool around, doesn't play games on time and materials and was very good to work with. We chose to work with him based on a very solid recommendation from a co-worker who has used him for business and personal jobs for years. His crew works hard, though a few of them seem lacking in technical skill despite William's efforts to educate them. Minor scratches on our kitchen floor are about the only complaint and William fixed those himself. He also brought in a cleaning crew because he felt too much dust was kicked up as they stripped and sanded cabinets, doors and trim. Our place was spotless when they left. Overall, the place looks great and we are very happy with the result.
Description of Work: We hired William's and his crew to rectify another painter's botched job. They stripped, patched and repainted our interior doors, touched up/repainted walls and painted kitchen and bathroom cabinets in our 2 bedroom 2 bath condo. We hired him on a time and materials basis because William told us up-front that he was unable to give a project estimate for stripping and repairing the other painter's damage.
