Valley Heating, Cooling, Electrical and Solar

After getting 3 bids (2 other vendors from Angie's List), we settled on Valley for two primary reasons: 1. Our neighbor had used Valley previously and were very satisfied. 2. While Valley was the middle priced vendor, we felt more confident during the quoting process with the information we learned from the sales person, Zac. The other two vendors were also informative and professional, but Zac helped us understand the process a little more thoroughly. The work was originally scheduled for about 2 weeks out, but Valley called a day or two after we had committed and indicated that they had a cancellation and could therefore take us the very next day. Marco and his crew arrived on time and got started after explaining the process to us. The only issue we had was a break down in communication that occurred sometime after we agreed to have the work completed and when the work order was created for the crew. After day one was complete, I decided to check out the work that had been completed so far and found that the team had not removed the old boots. But, it was quickly resolved after a phone call to Danielle (and an FYI call to Zac) in the office. The good news is that neither Zac nor Marco pointed the finger at each other. Despite the mix up, the team was still able to complete all of the work by the original promise day (two days total work). The crew was pleasant, clean, and hard working. The system is working great! I probably should have called Valley first. as a suggestion to Angie's list, perhaps you could proactively state estimated "no earlier than" schedule dates of the vendor. in this case, had i known in advance that Valley would schedule no earlier than four weeks, then i would not have pursued this coupon with Valley and would, instead have simply called another Electrician on your list.

Scheduling the appointment was easy and they came out within a day or so. They were wonderful and professional. The tech was helpful and informative. They gave us an Angie's List special.

I was happy that it was easy to book an appointment, unfortunately I was not happy with the over all work. I went to work and my mom stayed at my house to ensure that the work was done. Although it does seem like the vents were cleaned out, I don't feel that they took the proper care of my house since they bent almost all the vents in my house. I noticed that he did not remove the the vent screens, and probably should have because now I have these huge gaping holes. I was not satisfied and expected a little more courtesy. I won't be using them again.

Everything appears to be working fine

The workman was fast, efficient and personable. He installed a box in the wall outside the bedroom and connected it to an existing switch. I had to supply my own fixture but that was stated upfront. He then tried to install my light fixture but the fixture was faulty.. I had him close up the box while I waited for the replacement fixture. He was very apologetic about not finishing the job even though it was not his fault.

Business hours begin at 8:00 Monday morning; rather than wait for their call I called them again at 8:30 the following Monday. I was told the next available appointment would be Thursday between 1:00pm and 5:00 pm. That would not be a problem if I was just calling for a tune up or duct cleaning service or something, however my furnace was dead and the house and family were very cold. I understand their service is in demand. But when a company says they support emergency service, they should do so. I feel they wasted my time.

Corrected some electrical problems in the electrical box.

I was so pleased with the quality experience, and will certainly call Valley Heating in the future!

I used a Big Deal on cleaning out the air ducts. They were prompt and fast and did a great job.

They did a great job. It was not easy moving our washer and dryer to get to the vent. We are using them again to clean our vents.

They were prompt and very thorough. The also came back to quote on attic insulation.

My experience with Valley Heating, Cooling and Electrical went very good. The worker was a very personable young man. He came out to make an estimate and, then, came back the next day, with the tools that he needed. Everything worked out great. Our interactions were very fine.

Replaced furnace and air conditioning system with higher-capacity units, added attic insulation, installed solar-powered attic fans, ran new gas line and vent line for new clothes dryer and removed the old 240 vac electric connections, added new 120 vac electric service lines for new furnace and new dryer, installed attic access hatch in hallway, and repaired damaged rafters and dry wall in garage ceiling.

The technician tried hard with a large vacuum and compressed air and could not clear obstruction in duct. BTW, in moving the large vacuum unit around the outside of my house, he scrapped the paint off on one wall. He removed duct connection at back of dryer to check for obstructions there. In doing so, he damaged the duct and could not re-clamp the flexible duct back on to the dryer. He had to use silver duct tape to attach duct back to dryer and advised me to replace the duct with a more flexible type. He chose not use a rotary brush to sweep the inside of the duct because the duct is not a straight run because it runs along the ground under the house and rises about 2 feet to the exit vent. He did not go under the house to check the duct for damage. Lessons learned is: if your duct is not a straight run, save your money on trying to clean it, but be sure to replace the duct with a straight run of smooth duct without using only silver duct taping to hold the sections together with sheet metal screws which protrude into the duct and snag the lint. Find a company specializing in duct work to install a proper and safe dryer duct. Valley Heating and Cooling is a reputable company but their main interest seems to be furnace and air conditioning equipment installation and servicing and offered me a service contract for yearly maintenance which I refused. Bottom line, I paid $99 through Angie's list and received a broken dryer duct connection, paint scrapped off one outside wall, wasted personal time and no significant change in my blocked dryer duct. I did meet a well-meaning and hardworking service technician who gave me some good advice on replacing the duct and left me with some extra silver duct tape. Was this a good deal???

I will have him come back in the spring for another tune up.

They cleaned my dryer vent which hasn't been cleaned in 28 years! The service person was punctual, professional, and thorough. I would definitely recommend this company.

I have used them in the past and they did a fine job but with the holidays, they were too busy to book me till Jan. So found another provider.

The service could not be scheduled in a timely manner.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that we purchased. It was good service but we had to wait a little bit before they came out. It was good once he came. We had to schedule it 3 weeks out. He was fine to work with. He got right to it and did his job. Everything still works. He came when he said.

Checked the Furnace and cleaned the air ducts. The service was excellent.

Not well suited for dryer vent cleaning in a condo builting or with a stacked washer/dryer setup.
