As usual, I am satisfied with Valley Heating. There was a third light fixture I wanted replaced but the new fixture would not fit where it was planned to go. As usual, Sal went the extra mile and showed me what work could be done to utilize my fixture (out in scope for this project).

This was the second Angie's List Deal for HVAC service and maintenance that I've purchased. The second purchase came about 8 months after the first purchase and servicing. A rep called after I placed my order to verify that I still wanted the servicing to be done so soon as they suggest every 12 monts. I thought this was great customer service and let them know that the current request was for a different residence. I was able to schedule service while I was already off work so it made it convenient for me. On the day of the service call I received a call from the Technician letting me know his status and eta. He arrived on time and was extremely professional. The Furnace was relatively new (10 years) so it didn't require much but he showed me the torn duct work to the back side of the furnace. Unfortunately the furnace would have to be removed to repair as it is behind the furnace in a small closet with a flexible aluminum duct. I'll have to think h****** how it might be repaired without removal of the furnace. One of the reasons for scheduling the service call is that the AC would stop shortly after being turned on and it seemed that the door on the furnace filter was loose and would trigger a safety switch turning the AC off. The tech didn't think this was a hugh issue and replaced the filter and reseated the door properly. On his inspection of the AC unit he showed me the conducer that was starting to leak and would need replacement soon. He didn't have the part with him and gave me a verbal quote for the future repair. Over all I would use Valley Heating and Cooling again. They have always gone beyond the call of duty by picking up and cleaning what was already there before the service call. This last round of service the tech attempted to fix my screen door but the screws in place now are the wrong ones.

Two men showed up and were on time, very professional and friendly. They thoroughly checked and cleaned my A/C and Furnace. They changed the filters. They also taped up all of the wiring from my A/C so my dog would not chew it. I had some questions for them regarding other issues and they spent some time discussing that with me. I definitely got what I paid for and will definitely use this company again.

I am satisfied with the tune up. Our A/C was compltely broken, the capactior was out. He was able to replace and get our A/C back up and running. We were looking for something affordable and found this Big Deal and got good work for a good price.

The technician arrived well within the scheduled timeframe - he even called twice on his journey to let us know that he was stuck in an accident-related traffic jam. He was very pleasant and thorough and took the time to explain everything that he had done. Scheduling was easy - again, a very pleasant and helpful person on the phone. Overall a very good experience. Will definitely use this company again. Thank you Valley Heating.

I had initially contacted Valley because my HOA recommended them to install central air conditioning in my condo. The people in the office were wonderful, patient and friendly. After some back and forth, the estimator came to the new place and explained my options. However, he didn't explain things very well / in layman's terms. Plus, I was a little concerned that some of the stuff he wanted to do might be against HOA guidelines, so I asked him to come back and look at a similar unit to get a better idea of what would / could be done. When I finally got the application for the air conditioning approved, one of the conditions was to inform the neighbors, so I wanted to talk to the estimator to get an idea of how long it would take, what was involved etc. I both e-mailed and called him; someone in the office even told me he should be in any minute and would likely get back to me shortly. I never heard from the guy again. I ended up submitting a new application with the HOA and going with a different company, which quoted me a price for a mini-split ductless system that was over $4000 less than what Valley quoted. It works great! In fairness, I used Valley to replace a part on my water heater, and Rich, the technician that came, was prompt and efficient. The people in the office are also wonderful. The experience with the air conditioning left a sour taste though, so I don't think I will use Valley again for anything.

It went well. They have finished it in one and an half years. Didn't recommend/sale any more service to me which is not necessary.

Knowledgeable, professional and timely. The techs arrived promptly on the dot and were quick and efficient. We just moved in to our first home and bought a new washer and dryer. We wanted to make sure our dyer vent was not blocked by lint buildup and not a fire hazard. Our dryer vent/duct exits at the roof and we live in a 3 level condominium complex but our "spiderman" tech was able to get on the roof and fully clean the lint build up. Thank you for the awesome tip/warning regarding the steam setting on the dryer (lint + steam moisture = plastery gunk).

I like this company and the people who work for them. This just turned out to be an unfortunate undertaking. Attic baffle to hold back insulation was installed successfully. Doorbell project turned out to be somewhat of a debacle. The basic problem was that the electricians were not familiar with such a wireless doorbell system prior to my engaging them. The first electrician to come out misunderstood the whole set-up, wanted to run wires where wireless communications were doing the task, said a manual switch was needed where the "extender" was to be the activator, and debated with me for hours. He had to leave, but I informed him of the fact that my view was confirmed in my call to the 3rd level of tech support of the manufacturer (the 1st and 2nd levels weren't really familiar with the extender concept either). So a return visit by a 2nd electrician was planned, and he brought the solution of basically replicating the main chime box in the remote area so it too would ring when the doorbells were pressed. This happened to work because the 2nd box was close enough to all the doorbells to receive their signals directly. But this wan't really a correct solution because the purpose of an extender is to "repeat" a doorbell signal from the 1st main chime box to the extender, and have the extender activate the remote bells beyond the range of the doorbells. Also, for the remote sounding mechanism, instead of chimes I had originally wanted to use a clanger bell I had, already mounted, and had used with my older doorbell alarm set-up (now defunct). The idea was to use the extender to activate it, but that wasn't done, due to the need to power it with an independent power source, multiply illustrated in the user guide, but difficult. They were conscientious enough not to charge me for the 2nd wireless alarm system that they'd chosen as their solution, having been unable to make proper use of the extender I had already acquired. So all in all, I think this was just too challenging and novel. Perhaps the company should have declined to take on the job when I said it would require a very expert electrician.. I'm sure these electricians would have performed any traditional electrical task competently and quickly, and they both were very helpful and friendly.

Danielle took my initial call. Pleasant and took down my address information, etc. Service visit was $90 to come out. This is a discount amount for going thru Angie's List. Arnel was the tech that did the work today. He was great. He called ahead of time to confirm his arrival time (within the scheduled window). He also found our Unit # without any issue. He answered all my questions. Very knowledgeable about the equipment and where in the troubleshooting process to look for issues. He spelled out the options clearly so I knew what I was in for depending on the option chosen. He also showed me a couple things to watch for. I only gave a B on the responsiveness for the company overall because they weren't able to fit me in yesterday. By no means a bad mark since I sent the initial contact only the night before. It just would have been nice to fit in same day. I would definitely use them again to do any other work.

We deal was for two hours of electrical labor. Sal arrived on time and started work on the primary task -- changing the hanging light fixture to a track light. We had already gotten the track light so it was easy. There was a issue where the alignment was not proper and he offered to change the box but that meant access through the attic and more time than we had budgeted for. When we told him a small gap was OK with us he fixed it right away. We had almost a hour and half remaining after that and I wanted him to install a socket in the kitchen. Sal said that considering he would need to go through the attic the task would possibly take 2-3 hours and we would need to pay for extra time (@ $120/hr) if that happened. I appreciated that he told this to me clearly before work began. Since I did not want to add to the cost I asked him to add a socket near my desk since that did not require attiic access. He had to cur through sheet rock for that to take power from another socket nearby which he did (and fixed the sheet rock when he was done). I provided him with the outlets but I did not have the cover and junction box which he provided and charged me a reasonable amount (had to pay about $16 for materials). He finished that work in the remaining amount of time and I am very happy with the quality of work done. I would have ofcourse like to have the socket in my kitchen but then perhaps two hours were not enough for that. Maybe next time! Overall I am very happy with the quality of work done and the professionalism of Sal and Valley Heating, Cooling and Electrical.

Very thorough and prompt. Javier went over a lot of details, and it was clear he knew what he was doing. He added some stuff that I should have done years ago, like wrapping UV-resistant tape of the foam insulation of the A/C unit.

Our air conditioning unit stopped working so I called Valley Heating, Cooling, Electrical. They answered the phone promptly, scheduled a time that was convenient for me, and called before arrival. The service was a breeze. The service man showed up right at the scheduled time, found the problem quickly, had a replacement part (new capacitor) in his truck, and had our AC unit working in no time. Great experience!

The service went excellent. It was a difficult job and the technician did great work on opening a wall to create an electrical connection. I had them install an overhead lighting fixture. The technician made more than one trip to my home. I did end up having to do some follow up work on my own as far as filling in holes that were put in the wall. He was very responsive and personable. He was also easy to work with. The fan has worked beautifully since the installation. I had no problem scheduling the deal.

I am extremely satisfied with the work I received from Valley Heating Cooling & Electrical. The company certainly holds up to its reputation. I had new HVAC installed (both furnace and AC), all new ductwork, and a flue vent relocated. Art G & Mike Z were very responsive and patient with me throughout the entire process, including the financing process which was done through the HERO Program. Sal M is a top-notch electrician and he will continue to be my go-to person for electrical needs.

It was fine. It was making a strange noise but he said it was normal. He was friendly and punctual. They do great work. They are professional. They are very reasonably priced.

They did a really good job. He was honest and gave good clear answers. I wasn’t able to get an appointment for while but when they did come it was great and got it done fast. He was really nice.

First of all I want to say I was pleased that Valley Heating was among the few contractor available on Saturday. I was also pleasantly surprised that they were very reactive and sent someone a few hours after my call to their dispatch center. But what I am very not happy about was that : The person who provided the service seemed to be struggling to find the root cause of the problem. He went back and forth up and down the attic almost testing all possible options. Not a bad approach but you would think that a professional like him should be more knowledgeable about this type of basic issue and not second guessing! He end up unplugging wires that were installed with my townhouse. The reason I needed a repair is because I blew up a fuse trying to install Nest by myself. Why do you need to completely change the previous setting of my thermostat to solve the issue created by a blown fuse? Besides I was also surprised to discovered that he did not have a proper fuse to replace the failed one. He had to go and buy one at my local Frys. That fuse was different to the one he replaced but he told me it was the only one he could find that had similar specs. Finally that technician left my place while I was still going through some issues (hot air blown by the AC on the 3rd of 3 when 1st and second floor AC where on). In the end I still had to pay $180 for a temporary fix. Two days after his visit, my system failed. I had to call the vendor who installed my AC units in the first place (was closed during the WE). I had to pay another $240 because they had to install a fuse that matches the original spec and do the wiring again. I wish they can refund my $180.

Excellent, did more that I that someone would do. very through. Well definately do again next year.

Sal was very professional and knowledgeable. He determine in no time it was PG&E issue. PG&E determined there was a bad cable from my Smart Meter to the PG&E junction box. Also, Sal was able to mount an hanging switch for my garbage disposal under my sink which fell off the side wall. Because I was and Angie's list subscriber, they were able to give me a discount on their work. I would definitely use them in the future...
