Bought their $55 Tune Up Coupon. Received a call the next day to schedule appointment. They can only take appointment 3 weeks out, which is 7/21. Then, they asked if the AC is in working condition. My wife said yes but it is not cooling. They said they cannot honor the coupon for "none working" unit. Instead, we need to pay $120 to repair and we can use the $55 coupon to offset. I found this really unreasonable for a couple of reasons. First of all, there is no mention of anything regarding "none working" condition on the fine print. Second, I need a tune up since my AC is not cooling. It is the same logic as if your car AC is not cooling, you get it tune up. Third, if my AC is truly not working, how do they perform "repair" for $120 without even inspecting my AC? Well, I guess I have to call another company to get my AC tune up, make sure it is in working condition before I call Valley Heating and Cooling again to use my coupon for tune up.

They did a great job. Cleaned up after they were done. The dryer vent was having issues and taking longer than normal to dry clothes. After Valley, the drying cycle was back to normal.

In addition to the installation, they explained why the previous change of lighting fixture in the unit caused the whole system to fail. The previous installer put the newer CFL bulbs in and the circuitry was not built to handle them so it destroyed the controller. Very informative and helpful.

He agreed the dryer was clean as he checked things out. He then pulled the dryer out to see if something was clogging it to cause light to come on periodically. The cause seemed to be that the dryer hose to outside vent was too long as well as had collapsed in its diameter. The fix was to shorten the hose which gave it back the correct diameter for flow. I had asked him if I could get behind the dryer and sweep floor. He said not to worry he would be happy to sweep it before putting it back in. Impressed he took a pic on iPhone to show us new hose position.

This AC Company seems a very reputable in bay-area, because their busy schedule, the appointment arranged in following week, the customer service is good, arranged the service time ahead time, AC technician show up on time, very professional and knowledgeable, check out the AC connection problem very quickly, changed burned transformer and other contractor parts, and make sure all other part of AC is OK before leaving. We are very happy for their service, and will keep them on file.

This was an annual service check. Booked the service call, first date available was the following week. The tech call ahead of time and confirmed the time he would be arriving. He arrived on time and was very professional. He not only did the maintenance on the AC unit but he checked the entire system. The service call lasted approximately one hour.

Came on time, explained what he was doing, friendly.

They cleaned the fireplace and kept the area clean They checked out the A/C heating unit, did some fine tuning and made maintenance recommendations

Using an Angie's list coupon, I had them come out to check my air conditioner prior to the hot weather. They did a complete check of the unit itself as well as the filter and vents. They were very professional, punctual, and knowledgeable.

Sal was terrific. Competent. Punctual. Etc.

First, I had to call them, as they did not contact me the next business day to schedule an appointment. Then the person in the office was pretty rude and does not seem to understand how to provide courteous and helpful customer service. Serviceman came to our home and we were advised that we will need an inspection of our air ducts as the AC and Furnace work fine, but there may some blockage in the ducts. Serviceman said they don't provide this service, yet their business information says they do clean out ducts. He said we would need to have something like a Home Inspection where they can run a camera through the ducts to find the problem.

Serviceman was okay, polite but not friendly...which is fine but he seemed sort of annoyed at any questions. The point of an inspection is to provide information, there will be questions. The main reason I had service was because of a clogged condensation line, he thought he cleared it but couldn't really articulate to me anything about what he did. I just turned on the A/C for the first time this summer and its still clogged. I'm really easy to deal with and just completed a kitchen remodel, with about 5 different laborers, with zero issues...I will not use this company again.

They showed up on time and fixed it. The fireplace stopped working again about a week later, and they came back and fixed it again for no charge. It's been working fine ever since.

Sal showed up exactly on time, diagnosed and fixed the problem in about 90 min. He was very careful with our newly refinished wood floors, used a drop cloth in his work area, etc. He explained that the problem was a faulty connector and showed it to me so that if other problems arose in the future elsewhere in the house I could save some time and look for this first. Highly recommended.

I called and scheduled an appointment after buying the special on Angieslist. Prior to the appointment, I was contacted to have a serviceman review the work to be done. He was on time (also they always call you just before they arrive) and professional. He looked over the jobs and told me that the 2 hours I purchased should cover it. When the appointment time came, the serviceman was on time, clean and prepared to do the work. He did all the work in the 2 hours, just like he said. I was impressed, so I called and asked for an appointment for my heater/its exhaust vent to be repaired (a home inspection had found several hazards). When the appointment time came, the serviceman was on time. He fixed most the heater problems, but told me the exhaust vent needed a complete replacement to be safe/meet code. Since I had told them that I needed the exhaust repaired (and not replaced), he told that he would need to get additional tools and parts. He showed me the amateurish/Rube Goldberg exhaust vent system and I had to agreed. He came back a few days later (on time) and cut/installed a new vent into the roof and finished the job. Both servicemen that I encountered were clean, well mannered and knew their trades. They cleaned up after themselves and left everything as they had found it (except for the problems).

Very thorough didn't waste any time just came in and got it dine.

When I requested to pull in the date, the team put me on a wait list and then set up an appointment one week sooner. Sal from Valley Heating contacted me in advance to say he was on his way. He showed up right on time. He asked questions to make sure the install was done the way I wanted. The job was done quickly with no mess. He took the time to have me test its functionality once completed. Sal was professional and polite. I would highly recommend using Valley Heating Cooling and Electrical.

It went wonderful. As always. I've used them many times before this. I look for their big deals so I can get a great deal on things. Love them!

Everything went very smoothly. I was able to schedule both services in the same 2 hour window which was great. Each of the people called ahead to let me know they were on their way even though they were not going to be late. They were polite, informative and efficient. Couldn't be happier and would highly recommend them!

Initial contact from the office was quite pleasant and I was very happy they could get here Tuesday (ordered deal on Saturday, they opened on Monday and called me Monday mid-day). As promised, their tech called approximately 30 minutes before arrival and arrived as promised. The technician was courteous, asked the pertinent questions and I showed him where various things were. Unfortunately, that's where the good stuff ends... Right off the bat, he starts dis'ing the fact that my unit is a Frigidaire... Hey, I didn't pick the brand, it's what the contractors who did the remodel on the house chose. I just spec'd tonnage. After puttering around for a while (compressor running the whole time), he comes back to me and tells me that he found leaks in both service valves on the condenser and stopped looking after that. For $55, I at least expected a complete diagnosis rather than just a $2,500 estimate to repair just what he found and a footnote that there could be even more lurking behind that, and a recommendation that I buy a new unit. To top it off, this guy can't provide a quote for new equipment, so I have to wait until Friday, spend another day home waiting for them to come out and quote that. The estimate is for replacing both valves and includes two very expensive valves (which he doesn't even know what valves, so I'm not sure how they price them... I pushed for part numbers on the valves and he told me that he'd be reduced to taking pictures and doing research back at the shop), ($263 and $273 for the valves), $778 for "Vacuum, ???, and Torch fee", $480 labor, $685 for 10 pounds of refrigerant. The possibility of rebuilding the valves wasn't even mentioned (no need to braze, eliminates torch fees and drastically reduces labor time). Going rate for 10 Pounds of R-22 seems to be about $150 rather than $685. I understand the need for a markup, it's a business, but a 300% markup is a bit of a price gouge. I'm not sure exactly what Vacuum, ???, and Torch Fee covers, but $778 seems like an awful lot of cost for a little soldering (ok, brazing, same thing, really) to me. Vacuum is basically sucking everything out of the pipes and seeing if air leaks in afterwards. Most companies I've dealt with treat that as part of the labor charge. Since I can't read what the guy wrote for the other thing on that line, (Looks like Re iow, maybe reflow?) I can't tell what it is, so I don't know whether it justifies $778 or not. Oh well... $55 lesson learned, but it makes me wonder why I joined Angie's list if this is what I get.

they could not do the work I paid for..........so the guy said you paid for 2 hrs of work, do you have anything else that needs to be fixed? He did replace 2 other outlets, but if we didn't have anything else, he was going to leave and not do anything! I feel like I wasted my money and I paid someone else to do the original work requested. not good

These guys were great! Super professional, super nice and did a great job fairly quickly.

Sal from Valley Heating, Cooling and Electric just left. He was fantastic! I had a long list of electrical "chores" that needed to be done from large (installing a new ceiling fan) to small swapping out a beige outlet for a white one. I really didn't expect him to get through everything on the list, but I was pleasantly surprised and how fast he worked and how much he accomplished. Plus he was friendly and very detail oriented. Overall a great experience!

I have a maintenance agreement with them. If I have any problem, it's covered under there. And then at least once a year, even if I don't need them, they come out at least once a year to just double check everything. They're good. They put on the things to cover their shoes so they're not tracking in from outside and they're careful. If I have questions - they just come out and do their business and if I have any questions, they answer that. I don't have any problems with them. They came when they were supposed to.
