Beautiful job, very happy with the way everything turned out.Had a hard time finding floor installers (many also wanted to do the sales) and actually met Val when he came out to do some of the finish work for his brother's company, Dempster Plumbing.Val provided one of the more reasonable (not the lowest) estimates (out of 4) for the installation of the Kempas hardwood I wanted installed. Plus he's very personable and a perfectionist.Our house has settled and there were some issues with dips and high spots in our sub-floor. Val's approach to fixing the issue seemed reasonable and sensible, and it turns out it was. When he crawled under the house he found that the subfloor had started to sag between the support beams that were on 4' centers. He added new support joist between the beams in several areas and was able to raise the low spots so the change in floor elevation was reasonable - spent nearly a day and a half hauling 2x6" and tools under our house. He also sanded down some of the high spots where the joints in the subfloor panels were. He and Sam worked hard and got the sub floor prepped and new wood installed within the time they estimated. He did such a good job, we had him install the baseboard - and they finished that work on a Saturday staying all day until it was finished. They were so efficient with the wood, I have almost enough to do the master bedroom. I'm going to order some more of the wood and have them come back later to do that too.

The project was brilliant from start to finish. Val and his crew (son Brian plus others) are courteous and professional perfectionists. The finished job is a thing of beauty - no shortcuts or doing anything the easy way. I'm very, very pleased. When the kitchen vinyl was removed, Val found some termite damage on the sub-floor which he expertly repaired for a reasonable add'l cost. I knew up front that this was a possibility and we had agreed that add'l cost would be involved for any subfloor repair needed.
