I scheduled an appointment after receiving a $70 coupon in ValPak. They arrived on time but immediately dragged in a filthy vacuum box that was approximately 6 feet long and 3 feet wide not caring to protect my white carpet. After about 20 minutes the supervisor told me that the ducts were blocked and the furnace motor was so clogged up with dust and dog hair (we have a small shitzu -- a breed that never sheds) that it would have to be removed and the whole system cleaned out with a concoction of 3 chemicals. He assured me that though I might find reports of their dangers on a Google search, they are not actually at all harmful. Said work would be an additonal $600 + and should be done immediately. Furthermore, if the work was not done on the spot they would not guarentee the cleaning work they had just done (for which I had already paid the $70). When I refused he tried to sell me an even more expensive plan B option. As they finished up their work I checked them out on Angie's List and saw that they already had an F rating. I wish I'd checked here in the first place!

They arrived within their time window. There were 2 workers and a boss. The workers set up the machine to one ceiling vent. Then they removed vent covers in two rooms showing me the dirt/rust. Four other vents were untouched. They accessed attic crawl space to check out my air ducts. They cleaned my dryer vent per coupon. The boss kept on the sales pressure for new installation of air ducts. He started at $3500 ending at $1999. The pitch was they were doing an air duct install nearby on Sunday, so sign up for Sunday to get a deal including lifetime warranty, guaranteed. He kept calling his boss to drop price. After the final no, he rushed his workers out. They cleaned up fast. I made sure the attic crawl space was closed. He said they do a professional job and of course, they wouldn't do anything wrong. After they left I checked the bathroom, a patch of paint was missing. The vent cover could not cover this. It was down to the brown interior of the drywall. This bathroom was remodeled 2 years ago with custom paint. The other room was missing a screw that attaches the vent cover to the ceiling and paint was ripped off. I rushed outside but they were already gone. I came in to where we were sitting, noticed all 4 zippers on my purse was unzipped and snaps were undone. I felt so violated with identity theft being so rampant. This purse housed all my paperwork on my credit card info and access checks. I don't know if anything was taken, eg. access checks. I think he was looking for $$ and opened every purse section to see. They kept me busy. I called credit card co. and then called the police because of possible theft and the compromise of my personal info. All this trouble just to save money on air duct cleaning even though I know from research it can't cost this little!! Later, I called him to get my check back. He said he would but I had to write a statement saying I would not mention this problem to anyone. That is extortion! He also called me a LIAR, that no one would have opened my purse. His ad and phone msg all say satisfaction guarantee. I have a right to write or complain. I will not back down to an extortionist!
Description of Work: Came to clean air ducts per their ad in the Valpak for $75. The ad said entire duct package and free dryer vent cleaning with whole house air duct cleaning. Ad said they were bonded and insured, member of BBB.
