Description of Work: Trenchfree replaced 35 ft of 4inch sewer pipe using the pipe-bursting method and installed a 1-way property line cleanout and a 2-way building cleanout. Based on the inspection they thought they could replace the pipe without going under the sidewalk but after digging found it was necessary to remove part of the sidewalk to properly connect to clay pipe. They generously offered a discount in this case because the issue wasn't found during the inspection. There was some disruption of the landscaping but not more than what I expected and I was quite happy with how they limited the damage to nearby plants using plywood to cover the surrounding vegetation under the dirt taken out of the hole. Holes were dug using manual tools.

I have never been more pleased with the end result as I have, working with Trench Free. From the first contact with their sales person Ernest to the technicians that worked on my sewer line, they were knowledgeable, courteous, and professional. It's not everyday I get to see a new sewer line put it, but the process was fascinating and the crew made it look easy. I had 35 feet of sewer replaced and they were in and out in less than 2 days. At first, I was concerned that my circular concrete aggregate stairs, in front of the house, would be destroyed because the old line ran under them. Ernest assured me that they would do their very best not to destroy any of the concrete landscape, and it turned out he was right. Talk about cleaning up after themselves, I would hire anyone of them as my gardener. Oh, there was a slight accident, where something got damaged, but I brought it up to the owner's attention and they took care of it, no questions asked. I own and run my own business, and I know what personalized customer service is about and I experienced that with Trench Free. I know that you'll be happy with the end result too, and the price was very fare!

The City (west bay sanitary) said my house drain pipe to the sewer was damaged and I must have it fixedat my expense. This is expensive and involves digging up the street.I called two plumbers and JD came to my house within within two hours of my call. The second plumber couldn't come until next day. JD Trenchless (Ernie) used his sewer video camera to look at the drain and made me a dvd showing clearly that the problem was not mine, but that West bay's main sewer pipe is broken and my drain pipe does not need any work at this time. I used the dvd to post the video on youtube and sent the link to the West Bay supervisor. The supervisor agreed that the problem is theirs and they would continue to clean out my drain pipe as needed. JD was fast and thorough and I'm a happy camper.
Description of Work: JD plumbing (Trench free) responded and did a video check of our drain-to-main sewer pipe. This was done to double check West Bay Sanitary's claim that my sewer drain pipe was damaged and must be repaired. West Bay also said they would not do any clean out of my drain pipe (as they had done previously) until repaired. The video display showed clearly that the main city pipe is damaged, not my drain pipe.

The guy was in the area so he came out right away. We didn't have a trouble after that so I guess the work is alright. He showed it through a camera, but sometimes the camera doesn't work well. The only problem I had with him was that he wanted to sell us on a $10000 trench. He wanted us to put in a new sewer line because the roots were so damaged inside of our pipes. We just recently had a remodel to this house. We didn't do, but somebody else did. $10000 was a lot of money. I asked him to write up a proposal and give me the estimate in wiring. He never came back with that. I didn't pursue it. It was a little bit out of line. He was professional and I've never used anything like this before. He was courteous. He was a little bit messy, but not unreasonably. I don't think he was very professional when he gave me that kind of price. I would not use him again in the future. He told us that it should be replaced. I spoke to neighbors who thought it was way out of whack. They had the same problems, but they didn't spend $10000. They said, all they do is clean the sewer lines from the tree roots occasionally. When asked to submit an estimate and the proposal of the work that he felt needed to be done in writing, it was never sent to us. It was fine because we wouldn't have used him anyway because I found out from our neighbors and they thought that it was way out of line.

I got about seven estimates, because the first few were highly unsatisfactory. I chose TrenchFree because they had the best reviews, Ernie from TrenchFree was pleasant and professional, and their quote was reasonable. When they did the work, I asked them to avoid damage to a gate and some plants, and the gate and plants were unscathed. I also asked them to protect a walkway, which they did. When it was time for the inspection, Ernie was there ahead of the inspector, and he handled the inspection quickly and smoothly. The new sewer cleanouts were up against some new irrigation piping (remember that we didn't know about two of the connections), and Ernie and his crew cheerfully and neatly re-routed the irrigation piping.
Description of Work: TrenchFree replaced the sewer from the sidewalk to the house. They found two previously unknown connections at the house, and replaced them in addition to the one we had known about.

We had annoying backup problem that was plaguing out old building for years and getting worse, we had to do something. The TrenchFree crew are LIFESAVERS..... I would recommend anyone who has minor or serious issues with there plumbing to call trenchfree first. We got some pretty bad estimates from two other plumbers who obviously wanted to over-engineer the solution. In Fact the issue was a little worse than previously estimated by trenchfree stepped up and did the extra work. They showed up when they said, which was the next working day in fact and worked the week on the problem. The cement cutting and patching was first rate. I was able to inspect the work before they filled the tench and it was impressive. Our plumbing is fixed and at a fair price thanks to TrenchFree.com

OUTSTANDING in every respect. Called Monday at 10:30 am,spoke to Freddy Porras, who made an appt. for an estimate at 2 pm the same day. Showed up right on time. Quoted $1440 for the complete job, which was just over 1/2 of an estimate I received on Saturday from another plumber on Angie's list (quote of $2800). Scheduled the job for the NEXT day at 8 am. Alejandro and Nicholas arrived at 7:30 am, got right to work. Carefully removed some plants and set them aside. They were completely finished by 11:30 am, and there was no sign they had even been there. All of the plants were carefully replanted right where they had been previously. I recommend Trenchfree/JD Plumbing enthusiastically and without hesitation. Their work was outstanding and comes with a lifetime guarantee. They are true professionals in every respect. THANK YOU for a great job!

TrenchFree's work was quality through and through. I'd highly recommend them.
Description of Work: This company can handle complex projects with skill and professionalism. TrenchFree helped me on my recent home remodeling, running new lines. Because I live in an older, historical home, I didn't want everything torn up. Their equipment avoids many of the problems associated with digging and trenching. Since doing the work, I have better water pressure and have had no problems.

We needed our 25 year old PVC main water line replaced due to a leakage problem. I contacted Trenchfree on July the 3rd, along with three other plumbers from Angie's list. Two of other plumbers were available for immediate assessment and quotes. Both these quotes required digging a trench through our yard and across possibly a 20 foot wide driveway. Trenchfree associates was the third party I contacted for assessment. They responded just as promptly as the other two individuals. I was impressed to learn about their solution, especially when I learnt about their method required no trenching. A lot of factors went into our decision for using Trenchfree for the job - Their solution would cost half of what others quoted. - The job will take no more than four hours to complete. - The job will not affect our landscaping or driveway. - They can start working right away. By 7 PM Saturday (day before July 4th) Trenchfree associates had the pipe replaced with nary a hint of any disruption to our landscape. Customers like me are benefiting from this amazing technology. I would highly recommend them for your underground pipe replacement needs.

Things started out well. I called on Friday afternoon and they offered to come out the next day for a free estimate. I forgot the guy's name that I spoke to. He said they would be in the office between 9 and 11 and he would call 30 minutes before they arrived. I wasn't thrilled when they showed up at my door the next day without a call. Furthermore when I said I was expecting a call per our conversation the guy said no, he told me he would be there at that time. It's a small thing and perhaps an honest mistake (I had one conversation with him, he probably had multiple conversations with customers so I can see how he might have been confused) but it's bad business to disagree with the customer. There were actually two guys that showed up. The guy I spoke to on the phone seemed eager but a bit clueless. His associate was the one that knew what was going on. Basically the analysis was that they would have to find the leak and decide how to repair it. It might have just been the unwrapped pipes going down to the polyethylene pipe underground had corroded or it might be a leak somewhere else. They said they would have to dig up the portion where it ran under the grass, put compressed air in it and find the leak. The associate gave me an estimate of $300 to dig things up and find the leak. Depending on where it was located he suggested it might be better to put in a new line through the attic of the house to the other side of the house than to replace the underground line. I told them ok to the leak detection and the main guy asked when I wanted them to come out the next week. I asked them what day worked best for them. The associate then spoke up and said they were very busy right now and needed to check the schedule before making an appt. The main guy then immediately said oh yea, we're really busy and we'll need to get back to you. That was three weeks ago and they never called back. I'm very, very unimpressed with their professionalism. Their responsiveness was obviously great to start but awful after that. In the end I'm very glad I did not go with them -- the whole interaction has just given me a very bad vibe. I would not recommend this company.
Description of Work: I have a gas leak in a line that runs under some concrete (disconnected since the discovery of the leak). I happened to see their truck on the road and looked them up online. They advertise as being able to replace/repair water and sewer lines without digging trenches. I called to see if they could handle a gas line as well. They said yes and offered to come out the next day for an estimate. After their visit I never heard back from them again.

The water co. came to my door to tell me I had a huge leak based on my usage (~180 gallons/hour). We determined it was somewhere between the house and street. After getting some other quotes, I called TrenchFree around 4 PM. They came to my house that day and finished by the evening. Other plumbers said they needed to dig a trench from house to street in order to replace the piping, which would destroy the vegetation and take a couple of days (also costing 2x what TrenchFree did). TrenchFree did it in a couple of hours, with very minimal digging or disruption. I got another quote from someone who could do it without digging a trench, and it was well over 2x what TrenchFree cost. Normally I would be suspicious with a service this ideal (low cost, high quality) but they provide a lifetime guaranty. My experience with the guys working there (Freddy and Carlos) was really good as well. They were very courteous, professional, and efficient, and appreciated that I needed the water running as soon as possible.

I found them on another online service, where they had 30+ highly positive reviews, but Angie’s List members really should know about this company. Supervisor Juan Diaz is the consummate professional – I was very impressed with his knowledge, forthrightness, efficiency and general manner, as well as the technology they offer, which remains uncommon. Their card states, “A company you can trust” and I believe it. Whereas the other plumber (who I did find on Angie’s List) told me, after showing me the video of the sewer pipe, that what we were looking at was corrosion, indicating the need to replace the pipe, Mr. Diaz assured me that cast iron pipe can last a long time. He located the sewer line in a different location from the first guy -- I watched him do it and I heard the beeping from his locator. They did not have to dig up the whole pipe from house to street, as the first guy had told me, and even if they had needed to remove the pipe, they have trench-free technology. As a certified arborist, I heartily endorse this approach to all excavation needs. It can save so much time and money, and moreover, save your trees and other plants, as well as other landscape amenities. But in this case they didn’t need it. They pulled the permits bright and early Monday morning, Jan 4th and began working, continuing well into that evening and part of the next day. The workers, as well as Mr. Diaz, cordially put up with my elderly father’s kibitzing and obnoxious chatter and were extremely polite, conscientious, and all-around good people. After the inspection, they finished everything up on the third day, informing me that I should ask the City of Santa Clara to come out and clear the rest of the line, where it now becomes their responsibility, from the newly installed cleanout nearest the street. It turned out that was where the biggest problems were and the city worker cleared the rest of the line the next day, needing to move up in size of the diamond-edge blade he was using three times in order to cut the clog out of the line. The mature sycamore tree in the yard may be clogging the line there, but is technically owned by the city, so also their responsibility. The city worker commented that JD Plumbing/Trench-Free did a nice job on the cleanouts – he would know better than I. The one small hitch was that one toilet was leaking from the seal afterward. But Mr. Diaz stood by their work, had his guy come out, remove the toilet again, and remedy the situation, which, it turned out, required a second seal (like a gasket) on top of the first, because the plumbing is set too low relative to the existing toilet. Both times they worked on the toilet they had to get new parts, but would not charge us for them, even when I sort of insisted about the second seal. They stand behind their quotes and workmanship. Also got the toilet to stop running, which should save lots of water over time. Overall, they not only offered us the most honest job description and lowest bid, but I feel most confident about their knowledge, skill and integrity. They spent the equivalent of at least three days worth of time, doing some intense work, for $1800 – seems quite reasonable, especially given that the city will now be responsible for maintaining the line nearest the street. I see in Mr. Diaz a professional like myself, who is in it for the long-term, building his reputation through excellent and honest service over time, rather than trying to get rich quick by hoodwinking customers like the first guy that came. Definitely check this company out! I neglected to input their web site at the beginning of this report, but here it is: http://www.trenchfree.com/
Description of Work: Responding to our request for a second opinion, after another unethical plumber gave us an exorbitant estimate (I wrote a report on him), Juan Diaz and his assistant came out early on Saturday morning, Jan. 2nd and offered us a free estimate, including running their video camera through the line, as the first plumber had done. The first plumber told us we needed to replace the sewer pipe from the house to the street. Mr. Diaz told us that, instead, we could just install the two new cleanouts needed to bring the 1954 house up to code and then hydroflush it out. They installed the two cleanouts -- one in the driveway, requiring breaking into the concrete and then repairing it when done, the other at the edge of the property, excavating deep into the ground, reset the toilets the first plumber had pulled out, and adjusted them to stop them from running.
