Later when the glue was dried I tested the doors and they were still sticking (though not quite as much). I also noticed that the doorknob was installed crooked. The previous doorknob was crooked and I was hoping the new one would have been installed straight, especially since the guy had to drill a new hole in the door, but he apparently used the old crooked doorknob as a guide. I called the main line and left a message saying that some of the work was not done correctly and that I'd like to have someone come out and correct it, but haven't heard back. I've been too busy to call them a second time, so they may have fixed this already if I had been a bit more proactive about it.
Description of Work: They sent a repair man to fix a few doors that were sticking, attach babyproofing latches, and repair a doorknob.
It went very well, I am extremely happy. Matt came by with Mike to discuss the jobs I needed done, and left soon after. Mike replaced the faucet and then Kyle came in to help with the rest of the items. The work that was done was very well done, and when something went wrong with the installation of the door I had purchased, they replaced it with a new one at no charge to me, not even additional labor. All 3 men were pleasant and professional ... they even asked if they needed to watch out for my 2 cats being "escape artists". I wholeheartedly recommend this group; I'll definitely be calling on them again!
Description of Work: Replaced 2 light switches and a faucet; rehung a door that was sticking; hung a new door; and replaced sliding closet doors.

The job went well. Some minor issues with scheduling. But company was responsive. I liked how they were very thorough and professional. They read the instructions, took a lot of measurements, and talked thru what they were going to do - including any concerns. The quality of their work was very good. I didn't feel they were trying to rush the job and get out.
Description of Work: Installed over-the-range microwave. minor cabinet work.
Description of Work: was a special deal for 2 hours;followed my list:installed my new grab bar in shower, hardwired replacement smoke detecter, installed replacement sink soap dispenser, installed battery powered picture light, finished installing my replacement toilet seat

That was good and they did a good job. They're responsive and it was a good quality product.
Description of Work: I used Tool Time for stucco work and door.
What started out as a "loose" tile, developed into dry rot in two baths. The rental duples was originally built in 1970. The tile, sinks, tub and shower door and hardware were original. The floors had been replaced 25 yrs ago (about). The castiron sinks were rusted, the ptraps not working. There was an apparent toilet leak in one bath damaging the under floor layers. We chose to replace the tile walls (not up to todays std) with direct to stud surrounds. The subfloors were removed as well as studs w/ dry rot, replaced. New tile floors. Eric send pictures of all the damage and suggested cost effective repair. We chose higher cost hardware, but went with his recommendations on the rest. Due to the age of the duplex, we had fewer options due to today's std sizes - retrofitting is not easy. Eric handled the scheduling w/ our tenents on both sides to get in and get the work estimated and done.
Description of Work: Remodeled two baths: Replace shower surround, shower door, Replace tub/shower surround. Demo old tile down to studs. Removed old floors in two baths, replaced w/ tile. Demo floor damage. Painted baths. Replace sink w/ molded vanity top w/ splashes. Replaced faucet and shower & shower/tub drains and hardware. Replaced a separate sink/faucet and the p trap underneath. Replace a garbage disposal.

Description of Work: Fix window, install screen door , repair toilet handles, screendoor took the longest needed to build a frame
i purchased the deal for 2 hours of handyman service. Mike showed up promptly ontime and completed both projects with great care and precision. While installing the garbage disposal also helped trouble shoot a small leak i'd noticed and took care of that at the same time. Super easy to schedule with Tool Time, and will definitely use them again.

I contracted Tool Time Home Improvement, after my original contractor failed to do a good job and was subsequently fired. Eric, who owns Tool Time, responded to my call immediately and provided me a very fair price to do the job. He was very polite, friendly and professional in his approach. They started the work within two days. Mathew who actually did the work was also very polite and friendly and knew his job very well. They corrected the mistakes made by the previous contractor and built a beautiful, tiled shower for us. I am very thankful to both Eric and Mathew and strongly recommend them to anybody who wants to hire an honest and capable contractor. In fact I will be using them to do some work in our other bathroom and probably remodel our kitchen as well, very soon.
Description of Work: Remodeled our bathroom. Put new, tiled shower pan and walls and installed a new shower valve/showerhead . Also installed a new shower door.

The contractor arrived on time, was polite and honest about what we were looking at in terms of any issues with installing a doggie door into a wall. The location also conflicted with an electrical outlet which needed to be moved. After some exploring, we came to a compromise on the installation in terms of location and electrical outlet movement. The work was done quickly. with excellent quality and in a clean manner.

I was blown away by the responsiveness. I bought the "2 hours for $170" special and the provider was there the next day. He was professional and courteous and got right to work. The work took longer than I had allotted and he had to come back the next day. The price is higher than the hourly wage I paid my previous handyman, but the quality of the work is excellent. I am happy to pay for highly competent vendors, and the crew at Tool Time did not disappoint, I highly recommend their service..

Tool Time Handyman arrived on time. The job should have taken 2 - 4 hours. Instead, the worker was in our home for 7-1/2 hours. The installer was not experienced in this task. There were numerous mishaps. The installer was at our house for 2.5 hours before he put a screw in a cabinet. He cut the counter top 7 times to get it to fit. It still doesn't fit correctly. He was tapping on the wall to find a stud. I asked if he needed a stud finder. He said no, he had one in the truck. He then started drilling holes in the wall to find studs. I have 15 holes in the wall behind my cabinet that he drilled. It got to the point that I told him that I would put the pulls and soft close on myself. He spent about 30 minutes trying to figure out how to put the skin on the bottom of the cabinet and I told him to forget it, that I would take care of it. We indicated that we would use Tool Time Home Improvement again because Eric took immediate action to "fix" this situation. We were very impressed with how he handled this. Based on that, if we have another job we will contact Eric Calamia for an estimate.
Description of Work: Job scope was to hang an upper and lower kitchen cabinet next to existing kitchen cabinets.

I contacted Eric to get an estimate on the same day that I contacted 3-4 additional potential providers. Eric was prompt to reply and come see the kitchen for an estimate the next day. He was the only provider that was willing to jump on the job quickly, which would ultimately ease some other project planning I had ahead. His price was on-par with the lowest of other bidders. Based on Angie's List reputation, the on-par pricing, and his schedule it was easy to choose him for the project. I was moving out of my house the day before the project would start, so we arranged for his crew to get access to the house for the whole project, without me ever needing to be present. This project was a DREAM. I stopped by from time to time at night just to see the progress, but everything was totally on-schedule and pain-free. The project was completed on the exact day that Eric committed and the floor and trim look beautiful. When I was on-site for the final review, he and his worker took care of a few other odds and ends for me, last-minute, no complaints...and I was even able to leave before they were done. I did an inspection a couple of days later and everything was PERFECT. I paid him through a very convenient online payment program and got my invoice through that system. Almost all of our communication was through text and email - and that suited me perfectly. I'm sure he works well with voice-calls and in-person too, but given my distance from the job site, it was very convenient to just text when needed. I love his can-do attitude and the quality of the work is superb.

Eric and his team exceeded my expectations. I let Eric know what I wanted done, and he responded with a quote and availability the next morning. His team were very responsive, communicated well, and completed their services in a courteous and professional manner. These guys are obviously well trained, professional craftsmen, and in several instances made recommendations that resulted in a better work product than I had envisioned. I would without hesitation recommend them to anyone needing carpentry or electrical work.

Eric gave us a line by line bid. The cost of our project was very clear. He met us on two separate weekends at suppliers to help us select tile and vanities. He was very conscious of our budget but also educated us on the cost-benefits of our choices. Eric was always available via text or cellphone to answer our questions. All of Tool Time's workers were considerate of us during the remodel and cleaned up after themselves daily. The quality of the crew's work, especially Matthew, was so good, that we expanded the scope of our original project. When we had water damage that was unexpected, Eric and Matt went out of their way to find a work around, including travel to San Francisco for replacement tiles. Invoicing was timely and detailed. One of us was home for a week during the project with no inconvenience at all. Any questions or changes were dealt with in a friendly and professional manner. We felt that we truly received quality work at a reasonable price and made some new friends as well!
Description of Work: Remodeled 2 bathrooms and installed tile flooring in laundry room and half bath.
I am very happy with the work that was completed. All of the people who came out to work on the house were professional, friendly, and punctual. We had a lot of paint chipping on our doors and casings due to wear and tear. We needed someone to come in and handle our door and window casings with care since our home was built in 1946 and we didn't want to disturb the original paint under the paint that was probably done in the 90's. Mauricio did all the painting. He was always on time and friendly. He answered any questions or concerns I had. Eric had originally quoted us 24 hours of painting time, but it took over 50 hours. Eric didn't charge us more than what he originally quoted. Kyle did the floor and wall patching. You cannot even tell there was a wall heater there. That's how good of a job he did! The floor matches perfectly with our hardwood. We didn't even believe it could be done like that. It looks fantastic. Mike and George installed our new doors. They had to fit the doors into our old frames which was a bit tricky. 2 doors went up without a hitch, but the last door was a little more tricky. Ultimately, another door had to be purchased because it was sanded too much when trying to fit it. However, we didn't have to pay for it since it was a mistake on the installers part. Everyone cleaned up very well around the house as they completed their work. I appreciated the time they spent in trying to make sure the area was clean and neat before they left for the day. I wouldn't hesitate to use Eric and his team again.

I was extremely impressed with Eric and his crew for this small but somewhat urgent job. We had just moved into the house and we needed to get our new washer/dryer installed in the garage but there was no vent. Eric came out and met me on the same day I first called and assessed the situation, including offering some advice on gas vs electric that saved us some money. Once I got him the information he needed, someone was sent out right away. Our washer dryer was delivered on a Saturday and Eric followed up that day to see if we wanted someone to come over the weekend to do the final valve installation and setup (we did...we had a baby and a lot of dirty clothes). All in all, great service and great work. I don't mind paying a little extra when everything is handled this professionally. I'm looking forward to hiring Eric again for my next project.

After my experience with the last handyman I needed to try again, and so went with Eric. Getting things set up were a bit dicey. It seems like texts don't always get there because initially there was a problem getting responses. Also, in terms of getting things scoped out doing so via text message would cause a 2 minute conversation to stretch out to a half hour of responding to and waiting for responses to texts. The original scope was to install a deadbolt and to install weatherstripping and a door shoe all on my front door. In the original text message Eric had sounded confident that it wouldn't take more than 2 or 3 hours, at a cost of $270 max. Based on that I decided to move forward. It ended up taking 3 hours for just the deadbolt. It required repositioning the latch slightly. Because I didn't have the weatherstripping on-hand and what he recommended was only available from Amazon I ordered that and we re-rescheduled the rest of the work for Friday. The work on Friday ended up taking an additional 3 hours. Nothing unusual or wrong with the door (other than needed to touch up the paint a bit), but even just doing the shoe and weatherstripping exceeded his original estimate for time and money. The quality of the work is excellent and I do not dispute the accuracy of the billing. I am just having a bit of sticker shock since the final bill ended up being over two times the estimate. I would consider hiring him again, but I would insist on a more accurate estimate, perhaps an actual quote/proposal, before hiring.
Description of Work: 1. Install deadbolt. 2. Install door shore and weatherstripping.
