Description of Work: Dean and his crew copper repiped my place in one day. Started around 8 and had completed the entire job by 5:30. The pressure is amazing. It's nice to get blasted with hot water in the shower. One thing I noticed is the valves that supply water to the fixtures are of super high quality. Smooth turning and only take about a 3/4 turn to go from off to fully on. I will always call Dean first for any plumbing needs in the future.

Dean is fabulous. I'd use his services again, definitely.
Description of Work: I disovered a leak between the water meter and my house on Sunday, August 5. The water meter box embedded in the sidewalk was filled with water, and my previous month bill was over $300. Turning off the cutoff on the house confirmed the leak. I called Dean and told him of the leak. He was at another customer's at the time, and said he would come over in about 90 minutes. I dug out the meter box enough to locate the leak -- about 12 inches beyond the meter, just under the sidewalk -- and then shut off the water. Dean showed up as promised, and although I was ready to break out the sidewalk to make the repair easier, he insisted that wasn't necessary. he cut out the pipe with the leak, and soldered in a new piece. Dean repiped my house two years ago, and I was extremely pleased with the work his crew did at that time. My under-warranty water heater had problems some time later, and he called back on a Memorial Day weekend and told me how to get the new part from the manufacturer. The repipe was 2 years ago, and I don't fault Dean for the water leak, and as such, was more than prepared to pay for Dean's work, but he insisted that it was a warranty repair and stood firm on that ground. I've been fortunate enough to use Dean's services a few times now, and I will continue to use his services for any pluming work that I need done. He's extremely personable, is punctual, does a great job and stands behind his work.

I remain impressed with Dean's prompt response and caring attitude.
Description of Work: My water heater stopped producing hot water on the Friday of Memorial Day weekend 2011. I was resigned to not talking to anyone until the following Tuesday, but I decided to at least call Dean and get a message on his answering machine. I didn't expect him to return a call on a three-day weekend, but he did call back in a surprisingly short amount of time. He pointed me in the right direction to get a warranty replacement for the pilot light assembly, which shipped on the Tuesday after the long weekend. He offered to come out and do the part replacement, but he also said it was pretty easy. Despite being connected to the gas line, I thought I'd give it a try, and he was right, it was easy.

After deciding to re-pipe my 42-year-old two-story house with copper, I obtained estimates from three different plumbers, and while all had high ratings on Angie's List and appeared imminently qualified to do the work, I decided to use "The Neighborhood Plumber". During the estimate Dean takes a detailed look through your house to estimate where the pipes and drains are located in the walls and then sits down and writes an estimate on the spot. Dean Lanoie describes what the work entails, how many workers he'll be using, as well as the fact that they lay down tarps and clean everything up when they are done. He particularly mentioned that they would be using "L" pipe, and I asked if was "better" than something else. His immediate answer was "No, but I'm not a good salesman. Some of the other re-pipe outfit's salesmen will sell 'L' pipe because it is more expensive, and I've given up trying to explain to people that they don't need it." He further indicated that "L" is for outdoor use, and has a longer life rating than the indoor pipe. He provided references the same time he gave the estimate. In fact, while we were standing in my driveway, Dean said that my street name sounded familiar and he realized that he had done a re-pipe down the street a few months earlier. He then looked up the paperwork for that family and provided their name and number on-the-spot. That shows confidence in your work and I believed that this was definitely not a prearranged reference (that family was very pleased with the work of Dean and his crew). Dean and his crew have what appears to be a unique approach to performing a re-pipe on a house. Whereas the other two estimates were for 3-5 days and 5-7 days of work respectively, Dean estimates that they can do the plumbing work in one day, with one or two extra days for repairing the drywall back to it's original state. The crew starts about 7:00am and works until they are done. For my house, seven plumbers were set to work on various parts of the house in parallel. Near the end of the day, the plumbers who had finished their areas began helping out in other areas. Many areas of the house were finished early enough that the drywall patching was begun on the first day, and only part of a second day was needed to finish the texturing of the drywall. They also replaced my gas water heater with a new water heater. The original out-of-the-wall connection was somewhat unaesthetic, so Dean personally replaced the steel pipe with a more modern flexible pipe; replacing the water heater was not part of the original estimate, but Dean accommodated my last minute request with no trouble at all. The work was performed just as described, and the drywall expertly matched the original texture at the end of the process. The crew cleaned up well. In the end, about a week after the work is complete, Dean comes by and checks that everything is working, that the drywall is satisfactory and that there are no leaks.

We were pretty impressed. They put in new pipes for the whole house and we had galvanized steel pipes. The plumber was very professional and courteous. He got everything done within the time frame specified by him. I was very happy with the results. I will definitely use their services in the future and I have recommended him to my neighbor as well.

He basically came in, did an estimate and he was actually able to come in and do the work before he thought he would be able to. He was also right on budget. He was a great guy to work with. He was very, very nice. He was very inexpensive and I would definitely use him again. I was absolutely satisfied with him. He did a great job.
