+ -1 moreThe gentlemen from Davey's were complete professionals, courteous, and a pleasure to work with. They were very careful in how they handled the trees and my property and left the work site cleaner than when they came. The price came in higher than another estimate, but I think they were worth it. I had three previous tree services that did not do anywhere near as well, left the site messy, left wood behind, and they were not much cheaper. Davey's is the best of the 4 by far.
Description of Work: I needed a tree removed that was in my electrical lines, a large mulberry pruned away from house and for health, a dead tree removed, and a redwood limb removed that was crushing my shed, as well as tangled vines.

+ -1 moreWhen they cut the tree, they did a fine job and cleaned the yard, but every subsequent year the price has gone up and it's astronomical, even when they're not doing as much as they did when they first came out.
Description of Work: They've done my tree a couple of times in the past. The last time they were here, they came out for an estimate.

+ -1 moreThey do a good job. They charge $350 for the two Oaks. They have performed very well. Their professionalism is very high. The gentleman that works with me in the field does a very good job. I can depend on them. They come in and do a good work. I cannot expect anything more.

Description of Work: I use The Davey Tree Expert Co- Santa Clara for tree services. They cut down a tree in the front because it was dead unfortunately, and they sent a tree person out first to see us and look at the tree and try to figure out what was wrong. He knew what kind of a cuter it was I can't tell you cause I don't remember but it was definitely a bargain it was definitely dying. They got a permit from the city cause apparently it was just a little bit too big to cut down without the city's permission and so he did that and then he had his tree guys come out and they did a really good job. They planted a tree last year that died probably because of the heat and they replaced that tree without charge. And then they planted some mandinoes which aren't really trees but they planted them for me to fill out the garden so that was really good.

+ -1 moreThey're good they always do a really good job, we thought they were a little price the last time I'd definitely knock them down on that but other than that they're good we worked with the same person Roy Bradshaw for kind of a long time. Prompt, professional, good crew, and then the pricing to have risen since we first use them and not that it was of note.

+ -1 moreThey utilized a truck-mounted bucket that allowed the tree trimmer to work completely around the tree. Previous companies used ropes and ladders. I was very pleased with the results and supervision. It was a good value.

+ -1 moreThe 3 trees they cut down to the ground I had said I wanted "removed". Unfortunately the quote didn't have what I wanted and I didn't read the quote carefully enough and so did not get what I wanted. Most of the trimming was done to my satisfaction and the crew made sure that I was happy with it. The tree health issues were discussed, but no solid conclusions were reached or recommendations made. If I wanted to pay an additional $50 per soil sample, I could have had it tested. I was also given the option to fertilize the trees for an additional charge. I have been very happy with Davey in the past, but will probably not use them again. They were the highest quote I received (I got 3 quotes and one of the quotes was $250 less) and both of the other quotes did get it correct that I wanted the 3 trees "removed".
Description of Work: Approximately 15 trees trimmed, 3 cut down and tree health issues discussed.

+ -1 moreThere were three of them. They get up in these harnesses up on the trees. It was a pretty big job and they were here all day long. Everything went beautifully. They do a good job. They are well known. They have several offices in California.
Description of Work: I used The Davey Tree Co - San Jose for trimming a Japanese Elm that overtakes the entire yard. They went up the tree and trimmed out all the hanging branches. We have three moderate Pines along the side of the house that has Ivy growing up on it. They scaled up these huge moderate Pines about a hundred feet and took all the Ivy down.

+ -1 moreFrom the first time we have used them, we continue using them because we are happy with the service. They are punctual and do a good job for us. They schedule us each year. We do not like the olive trees to produce fruit so we get them sprayed. Last year we were not totally happy with the spraying job.
Description of Work: We have used them periodically over the years. Usually they come in and thin out our olive trees and other trees in our back yard, occasionally a juniper. They also do spraying of our olive trees.
