Sunwest Painting

After getting quotes from two other company, I decided to go with Sunwest Painting because of three reasons. 1) Luis was early on the day we agreed to meet for an estimate, 2) he thoroughly explained what was covered and walked through my condo to see what needed to be done 3) and gave me the best quote out of all three painters. Luis was personable, gave me updates everyday on the progress of the work, and him and his crew did a fantastic job. He was also available last minute and I didn't think he would pull it off, but he did.

The painter, Louis, and his employee arrived on time @ 7am. They worked quietly taping off and doing prep work till 8am then began repairs and painting-Louis kept me informed of his progress throughout the job, and did a fine job. Clean up was thorough.

We had a small patch of drywall that needed to be replaced. Luis was the only one who answered the phone. I sent him pictures of the wall. He had someone scheduled that weekend. They came out extra early (6 am) to accommodate our schedule. The person did an AWESOME job. It doesn't even look like the wall was ever damaged. He noticed the baseboard damage on his own & asked if we wanted him to fix it. The water damage repair company had put up a containment around the area. Carlos took down everything & helped us put the door back on. Will definitely use again! However, I would give them an A- on punctuality if I could. Why? It was unclear to that they do not bring their own materials, just the tools. The evening before the owner asked if I had the sheet rock & wanted to charge me if they had to supply it. He directed me to an online contract on Angie's List that I didn't know existed because we found them on Yelp. I was upset because I was never told we needed to provide this so he didn't charge me. They picked up the sheet rock that morning which caused him to arrive late. I was under the impression it would be obtained the night before. Also, When Carlos arrived he asked if we had the insulation for the wall. My husband ran out to Home Depot. My advice is to clarify in advance what you need to provide or what they will charge you to supply. This was quite a hassle. The reason they get an A is because the finished product was stellar!

The job went wonderfully. Marco arrived right on time. He was friendly, but professional. He did a great job, was patient with my questions, and I felt very comfortable having him here. Everything was left very clean.

I have a vaulted ceiling that is 14 feet at it's highest point and a stairway that sits about 14 feet below the ceiling upstairs.I wanted to remove the old "popcorn" ceiling and decided it was too large a job to undertake myself.I called three different painting companies to get an estimate to take down my ceiling. Luis from Sunwest was the only contractor who actually took the time to come out to my residence and give me a quote. Luis was extremely personable and professional, he took the time to explain the process and answered all the questions my wife and I had without any pressure.The other two contractors I called requested that I send in photos and measure the dimensions myself. Sunwest was by far the most reasonable quote I received and I believe the other contractors bumped there prices because they didn't actually see the scope of work. I called Luis to schedule the work to be done on the 5th of July but unexpectedly I had to change the date and Luis was more then accommodating. Carlos and Guillermo showed up at 8am on the 20th just as Luis told me. I can't say enough good things about the work these two did. They even moved some heavy furniture that I couldn't move and covered the one piece left. The first day they removed the old ceiling and prepped the drywall and applied the texture. During the work operation the owner Alonso came out to make sure everything was going smoothly. The second day Guillermo and Alonso showed up on time and two coats of primer were applied and the ceiling was painted and all debris was vacuumed up and removed. The ceiling looks great and I would recommend this family run business any day.

It went great! Their guys came in did a fantastic job. They came when they said they would come, left the job site clean and when my floor guys nicked my newly painted walls, came back and for a very nominal charge fixed the problems. I will be using these guys for my new fence and when I repaint my exterior. Of all the contractors I have used in my last two major projects, Sunwest just may be the best one in terms what they did and how they did it.

Sunwest Painting helped me turn over an rental apartment in less than a week thanks to Luis and his crew at Sunwest thanks to their immediate availability, responsiveness, and fair pricing. From the onset, Luis was very courteous, responsive, and his crew chief, Tony, was equally punctual and attentive during the one day project. The scope of the work required re-patching and re-finishing holes, painting all interior walls, one pass over trim and touch up on other areas showing wear and tear. Sunwest accommodated my paint requirements, provide the paint, including finish type, and all the work was performed with high quality, on time, and left the apartment in great move-in condition. I would consider hiring them again for future painting needs.

This is the second time Sunwest has done work for me. The team is wonderful. They are very clean and professional. They show up on time every morning - this was a five-day job. in working on the kitchen cabinets they created a small 'room' to keep all the spray and dust out of the rest of the house. They did a great job on everything. I will definitely continue working with Sunwest.

Professional - cleaned up everything!

1. painted lumps on wall where it looks like patch work not smoothed out 2. a few cracks where the were not done so it looks like painted cracks. 3. one place not full painted 4. paint on white door this was all in a small bathroom bed room painted was ok but got some paint on popcorn ceiling I never had a professional paint my house before so maybe my expectation was to high but I did not see the difference between hiring a professional or getting a group of my son's friends together to paint.

Rudy was terrific and very helpful! I could not be happier! I had to cancel appointments several times due to delays on my kitchen project and Sunwest was so understanding and accommodating. Rudy came today and painted several rooms for me - both walls and trim. Thank You Sunwest and Rudy!!!

I had two coupons and it went ok. The first coupon I had two guys for four hours. They were only able to install the sheet rock, tape and apply some mud Since there was not enough time for them to finish mudding and sanding, a friend and I did some of the work There were some concerns and it was addressed The second coupon I had one guy for eight hours. He applied a light third application of mud, and sanded. He also finished up one of the walls we had started to repair. All it needed was another application of mud, sanding. The next step he applied knock down texture. Since it had to dry there was no time for him to paint. It took one day for the walls to dry

It went so well! I can't say enough positive things about Miquel, who was our painter. His expertise, professionalism, punctuality, communication and kindness all rate A+ with me. I've been working in property management for many years now and it was such a pleasure working with Sunwest. They communicated with us on schedule and job, were punctual (even given the unknowns of Bay Area traffic) and went out of their way to help us finish our job in a timely manner. Miguel is one of the best painters I've seen. The finished product looks great, we are very pleased! I will be contacting this company when it comes time to paint the exterior. I highly recommend this company.

Overall the work was done well. I did have to ask for them to clean up a bit better once the job was completed. The response was quick and efficient. It was a pleasure to work with Sunwest Painting!!

This was an angie’s list purchase of 8 hours of work for 1449. Me main purpose was to repair heat damaged ceiling sheet rock full subsequent installation of new led canned light. Jose got the job done in about in about 4 hours- so we added painting in the bathroom.

We had just purchased a brand new home in a newly built community in Gilroy. While everything was brand new and had a fresh coat a paint on all of the walls, we wanted to add a splash of personal color to the space. Based on their reviews and professional website, we brought in Sunwest Painting to do the work. All the important checkboxes were checked during their visit: Ontime, professional, friendly, clean, and above all, they did a great job! We had them paint three splash walls in three different rooms, and the repainting of our fairly large master bathroom. All accomplished in one workday with two great professional painters. We are planning on doing more painting in the future once we are settled in. We will not hesitate to go with Sunwest Painting again when that time comes!

Painted new bathroom with several coats then painted hallway. I wasn't aware that lunch was part of the hours purchased. The hallway was almost finished but there was still a bit more that could had been finished. Otherwise the job was good.

Sunwest Painting did an amazing job painting our house. They painted over 2800 sqft of interior painting with 4 colors over a span of 10 business days. The overall process was awesome. Luis, one of the owners, came by and did the initial estimates. We walked through the house and I let them know exactly what we were looking to do and within a day, I had the estimate in my email. We exchanged some emails updating and fixing the contract and they were able to start less than a week later. The overall painting job was overseen by Tony. He was here every day and made sure the painting was both high quality and with speed. He even encouraged us to go through their paint job after they were done and mark up areas where we thought needed some special attention. We are pretty detail oriented, but Tony never minded. He himself strives for high standards and high quality and he made sure our house got the best. Luis even came by and painted himself! What impressed me the most is their cleanliness. They covered all of our brand new floors, taped up closets, and entryways theat they didn't want the dust or paint to fly to. Luis is a very cool guy and not one of those "I'm on my high horse" kind of owner. The fact that he really likes to come to paint and just "be with the guys" is really cool. I did also treat the guys with some donuts and coffee in some of the mornings to thank them for their job well done and to give them that extra sugar rush to do extra good work. Overall incredibly satisfied with their work and their cleanliness. Would definitely use them again.

Luis and his crew were outstanding. The quality of their work was excellent, as they painted every interior service of our home as part of a remodel (e.g., walls, ceilings, bar cabinets, door frames, moldings and base boards, stair trim, etc.). The really remarkable thing about this company was their customer service. They were responsive and accommodating at every turn, polite and professional, always on-time and following through on whatever they said they would do. Of particular note was the lead painter for our home, Tony. He was personable, professional, and bent over backwards to assist us with whatever we needed (whether it was particular detail attention or changes to the schedule, etc.). Overall it was a great experience, and we would definitely use them again!

Luis' crew (two painters) arrived on time and in one day finished all the work. They were very clean and neat. They spread plastic on the carpet and left no debris and cleanup for me when they left. The work was done quickly and I was satisfied with the paint job and repairs that they made. I'd definitely hire them again. Luis was very easy to get in touch with and I really appreciated his responsiveness in email and phone.
