When I suddenly discovered our refrigerator was not working this morning, I contacted Ray Oyarzun based on his positive reviews here on Angie's List. He was able to schedule us in late this afternoon and arrived right on time. He quickly assessed the problem, had the needed replacement part in his truck and promptly installed it. The whole job took a little over half an hour and my refrigerator is working like new. Ray was very polite, efficient and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend him and will keep his name at the top of my list should any of our other appliances need attention.

Late in the afternoon of 11/3/2015, I realized our refrigerator/freezer wasn't cooling. I called my normal service provider and they could not come until Saturday. I then turned to Angie's List and called RO Appliance Repair. Ray was able to come to our home within about an hour. He quickly determined the problem, gave me a quote for the repair and then was able to even do a "quick" fix to get the refrigerator to run so we didn't lose our food. I got a call the morning of 11/4/2015 from the scheduler that he had the part and gave me an estimated arrival time. He arrived as scheduled and completed the service call. I could not have been more pleased. Ray, as well as his assistant, were professional, pleasant and very knowledgeable. The scheduler who called to schedule as well as confirm arrival times, was extremely pleasant. I will continue to use RO Appliance Reoair for any of my appliance repair needs.

Phone scheduling was quick and they had me in file. Lorenzo came out in his time window and diagnosed the issue. He identified the ignitor was open and needed to be replaced. This was replaced a year ago at a ripoff of part price of $75. He to,d me it would be $32...so much more reasonable. He said the diagnostic charge would go towards the labor rate when he returned to replace the ignitor. Came back 4 days later with the part and replaced it and repaired it. He also said we should clean out the vent to avoid this from happening often, some thing the other guy didn't mention last year.

The provider was prompt and courteous when he came for the first visit on Friday. Within 15 minutes, he was able to diagnose the problem with my warm refrigerator. He told me he would have to order the part, it would be received by Monday and he was able to work with my schedule and install the part on Tuesday. He came within the window of time he promised, he performed the task quickly and efficiently (while simultaneously mentoring a technician-in-training), and he charged me what was quoted. He was knowledgable about my refrigerator model and he was confident in his work. Upon leaving, my kitchen was left clean and the refrigerator was already running cool. I would recommend this company to my friends and family. I would use this provider again in the future.

Ray and his helper came in, and i told him that the compressor was not working and showed him where the on off switch was. So he turned it on, and it made a "Clicking" sound then it "Hummed" for a few second's and then made a "Clicking" sound again and went off. So i told Ray that it usually did that, but that the compressor would come on, cycle and then Click and turn off etc. Well, Ray the "Man" as i called him knew what exatly it might be right off. He said it sounded like the "Relay" switch too the compressor had gone out. So they took the back off the refrigerator off, and replaced the "Relay". And "BINGO", that was it. It started up and ran as smooth as alway's. And before in talking too Ray, i told him about the "Knocking" noise it made every time it started up. And then after a few seconds would go away. Well, in replacing the "Relay" Ray noitced that the Compressor's brackets were bent and the compressor was leaning too one side. And he asked me if the refrigerator had ever been worked on before, and i told him no and that it had made this sound ever since it was new. and i know i should have done something about it when it was new and under warranty but i didn't. anyway, he said the noise i was hearing was coming from inside the compressor. And that there is something inside that vibrate's, which was normal but because the compressor was "Leaning" too the side it was "Banging" on the metal houseing surounding it, and would continue unless the "Brackets" were straightened and the compressor stood up straight. So needless too say, i was very impressed by him spotting that right off. So he straightened the "Brackets" and like "Magic" the knocking sound went away, and has not come back. So too end, he was there a total of about 15 min's and solved all the problems. So thats why i call him the "Man", needless too say i was more then impressed and would recommend him too anyone in the future. They did a professional job, very good, very honest and got the job done correctly

My 12 year old Maytag refrigerator stopped cooling, so I called RO on Monday morning. They were very nice and able to schedule an appointment within a few hours. Ray (the owner) came on time and diagnosed the problem within a few minutes, a defective control board. He and his intern had to defrost the coils in the freezer and install the control board. Ray told me up front the cost which I thought was very reasonable and he did not mind me asking questions and watching them work. I learned a lot and thought Ray did a great job and now my refrigerator works perfectly! I highly recommend Ray and RO Appliance Repair and would use them again.

I had such a good experience with RO Appliance Repair Co. I called and they were able to make me an appointment for the next day. I got a phone call from the repairman, Lorenzo, at 3:45 saying he was on his way and would be there in 5-10 minutes. He Lorenzo showed up on time and was able to fix the washing machine. I will be using RO Appliance Repair Co. for all my appliance repairs from now on and I'll be requesting Lorenzo. I had called Sears but was told they couldn't get a repairman out for two weeks. I'm glad I called RO Appliance Repair Co.

I had such a good experience with RO Appliance Repair Co.. I called yesterday and they were able to make me an appointment for today between 4-7 p.m. I got a phone call from the repairman, Lorenzo, at 3:45 saying he was on his way and would be there in 5-10 minutes. He showed up shortly thereafter and was easily and quickly able to ascertain the problem and fix it. Lorenzo also had some useful tips on washer use (for example, adding Borax to soften the water and running the washer empty with a cup of vinegar to clean the old soap scum out). I will be using RO Appliance Repair Co. for all my appliance repairs from now on and I'll be requesting Lorenzo. You should too!

I would highly recommend them. RO Appliance Repair Co was extremely helpful and very knowledgeable. They took the time to return my phone call. Ray then asked me a few items about the refrigerator, and then gave me a range for repair. My wife does not want to fix this refrigerator since we have a problem finding items (we were talked out of sliding shelves by Orchard, a Sears owned company?). Since we are planning to move, and probably would buy a larger refrigerator with a freeze draw and use what we have at the time in the garage. Ray was very helpful in keeping me married by advising me to listen to my wife a buy a new, cheaper refrigerator for now. The front office was extremely helpful and easy to deal with. Thanks Ray I am extremely grateful.

They came on time and fixed the hinge and installed the new microwave as Ray promised. They cleaned up the mess after the work. We were happy as they worked. They knew very well about microwave ovens, which made us to feel confortable working with them.

I've used their services more than once and it has always been outstanding. My refrigerator shut down during the holidays and they showed up at the end of the night just to see if there was something that they could do to save me from losing all the food. However, they didn't happen to have the parts in their van but they were able to fix the fridge right away the next day. They went above and beyond when they decided to come over in the middle of the holiday season to see if they could help.

I am writing this review because I think its important for people to know how my freezer repair call turned out with RO Appliance. I called RO Appliance because I had read so many great reviews on Yelp as well as Angieslist. I had read about how good Ray was at diagnosing and repairing appliances. It was my misfortune that when I scheduled the appintment with the company Richard was the technician that was scheduled to do my repair . I had asked at the time of scheduling if I needed to empty the freezer so that the repairman could access the neccesary parts for testing. The girl told me that was not necessary. When the technician arrived I showed him the freezer, he opened the door and found the freezer was not as cold as it should be. Of course that is why I called. He immediately told me that the system had a blockage or the compressor was going out and the repair would cost between $400. and $500. I told him that I didn't think it was worth the repair and since he was here the freezer half of the refrigerator in my kitchen was having a problem as well and would he check that. He opened the door tricked me into thinking the fan in the freezer was not working and that it needed the main control board and fan motor replaced. After I paid him $85. for that information I looked at the receipt he left me and it stated that the fan was not working and he found the control board working properly. Mind you he had checked nothing, only opened the door and pushed the light button to show that the fan was not working, and gave me an estimate for $575. to repair my refrigerator. I have since found that the fan in the freezer section of the refrigerator is working. I also discovered after buying a new freezer that when I emptied the freezer and was able to access the control knob which is located on the back wall, that the knob had accidentally been turned toward the warmer temperature. I transferred the food to my new freezer and decided to put a large container of water in the old freezer and plug it in. I turned the control knob to colder and, guess what? The next morning the water was frozen solid and the thermometer I put in was at below zero degrees. That was about two weeks ago and it is still at zero degrees or below. My suggestion to anyone thinking of calling RO appliance for a repair to make sure that they schedule Ray for the repair because I don't think Richard is very trustworthy and he will tell you anything to secure an expensive repair job whether you need it or not. I can only hope that Ray does live up to the great reviews that he has received. BE WARNED!!!!

Came out on schedule, diagnosed issue very quickly - clearly knows exactly what he's doing. Provided reasonable quote, ordered part, arrived on time at scheduled date and repaired quickly. Very organized and professional. No issues - would recommend and use again!!

Only some repair shops work on Vikings. RO is one of them. Got a quick call back (few hours) and visit scheduled in a few days. Showed up on time. I was worried because the problem was very intermittent, but they had a systematic approach and were able to diagnose it to the controller board, which had to be ordered. I could have stopped at that point with a bill for just the diagnosis but we went ahead. They estimated 2 weeks for the part. Another appointment, again on time. good company, would use again

Ray showed up at the early end (1:20pm) of the estimated time span for arrival (1-4pm), and got right to work. It was clear watching him that he knew what he was doing and had been doing it for a long time -- both reassuring to me as customer. He spoke of contingencies as he worked ? "if this, then that" kind of thing so I had a good overview of possibilities and costs. When he had finished, he ran it all down for me in clear and concise terms that were easy to understand, presented my options and their estimated costs, and answered all my questions like the seasoned professional he is. His charge for a house call is $85.00, which I consider entirely reasonable, given his expertise. He was finished, cleaned up and gone in about 50 minutes. Although the repairs would have cost just under $400 including the house call charge, my confidence in the refrigerator's future registered between slim and none, so I chose to forego repair and buy a new refrigerator. Ray had said that the compressor was the expensive element ($700+ for that repair/replacement). I thought that even though it was still working today, there was no reason to believe it would continue to work for the next 8 years (15 years is the shortest acceptable life expectancy I have for a refrigerator; none of my previous ones has lasted fewer than 20 years). I am bed-bound with multiple disabilities, so my caregiver is out refrigerator shopping as I write. Our experience with RO Appliance Co. was so completely positive, I can't imagine calling anyone else for future appliance repair needs.

Ray showed up during the time window quoted and listened to the symptoms which I relayed to him. He quickly identified the probable cause and luckily had the replacement part in his truck. We discussed the part, how it functions, and how it can become defective - it all made sense to me. After a quick replacement, the refrigerator is running well now so far. Very polite and professional.

Came late at night knowing we had an urgent problem. Did a through job. The fridge works well now.

Awesome. Both appliances went out the same week and I was expecting family for the weekend. They squeezed me in at the end of the same day even though it gave them a very late night. They had the parts in their service truck. They were fast and very reasonably priced. I will never call another service.These guys are great!

it used to very difficult to find someone who could fix a sub zero . thankfully they don"t need to be repaired very often. I was so happy to find Ray on Angie"s list.He was terrific. came on time and knew right away what to do. years ago the repairman that took care of the same problem charged me $600.00.Ray suggested that if I turned the refrigerator off and let the freezer defrost overnight ,the cost would be much less. He was right and I was happy to pay him $182.00. When he came back the next morning he had the job done in no time. I will definately call him again whenever something breaks. Thank you Ray. GREAT JOB!!!

Ray said he would arrive between 10am-1pm. He called at 10:30 to tell me he was picking up the part and would be here in a 1/2 hour. He was! How nice it was to get a call ahead. He arrived, put in the part, charged the amount he said. He even ran the machine to make sure it was tight. Ray was friendly, on time, curtious, etc. IF I Ever have another problem, I know who I'll call. One other quick note. When calling around for quotes, Other companies told me the part was $20 more and that it was cost $100 more to put in. Ominous warnings: Oh that's an expensive job! Ray, was honest and quick and didn't overcharge.

His price was so fair. He had the appliance repaired within less than 3 hours after I called Ro Appliances. I was so impressed because I was at work at the time when the work was completed. My husband called me while I was at work to tell me the gentleman from Ro had fixed the washer. Kudos to Angie's List for providing this service!!! It's really a pleasant experience. I would recommend Ro's and Angie's List to everyone!!!

Will use RO Appliance Service in the future and recommend him to others

Ray responded immediately, gave an estimate and timeline. He came when he said he would, he charged what he estimated. He fixed the problem, and was pleasant and efficient. He will definitely be our go-to guy for future appliance repairs.
