My husband dealt with them primarily, but they actually did not solve the problem. My husband did research and fixed it himself. They ended up not charging us because they could not fix it. Why was it that my husband, who is not a professional, could figure it out and they could not? I think they just do what they do and then if it is anything beyond that, then too bad. Now that I remember, he was quick to say we needed to replace all of our pipes, but in actuality we did not. They did try with what they do.

After posting my original review, I was contacted by Steve, Assistant manager of "Rescue Rooter". He was very responsive to my concerns about the scope and cost of the project. He suggested several options to try and resolve the issues that I had with this experience with his company. After 3 or 4 discussions we arrived on a mutual solution and satisfactory compensation. I had previously used "Rescue Rooter" with excellent results. I think Steve made a sincere effort to ensure my satisfaction and restore my faith in his company. Should the need arise, I would probably use them again.

On Saturday they called to say it would be a 4 hour window. 1 hour after the 4 hour window ended they called to say they didn't know when anyone could come. 1.5 hours after that they called to confirm the address. When I called them back they said it would still be a few more hours before someone could come unless I wanted to reschedule for the next wknd. I declined. All they did was waste our time.

The agent arrived quickly and at the time promised. He went to work immediately. He quickly determined what the problem was, explained it to us clearly, and then advised us regarding different options for resolving it and provided estimates for each one. After we chose one of the options he resolved the problem within a reasonable period of time (more than one sewer line was involved). He worked diligently the entire time, and there was never any delay or wasted time. When he was done clearing the lines he tested the whole system very thoroughly and completely cleaned up any messes (there were hardly any because he had been so careful). Truthfully you would not have even known he had been there. The agent was very professional and polite throughout the whole process, and very easy to deal with. He communicated clearly, explained everything to our satisfaction, and made sure we were satisfied at every step. This agent made a very unpleasant situation much easier to deal with than it might have been. Based on our experience with the service provided I highly recommend this company.

Rescue Rooter quoted $18,000. We said no and agreed on $7000. Half the way they wanted to expand to the $18,000 and I told them they could stop then for half ($3500). They finished for seven. - - - The work done was of good quality. The just pressure a lot. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We live in an older home that we discovered cannot take flushable wipes. I had called the #1 rooter company(according to their ads)at 0930 Monday morning. A recorder came on that stated they were not available and to leave a message. I then continued to search the yellow pages and came up with Rescue Rooter. They said they would be out within the hour and they were. He did his job, I paid by credit card and he left. The next morning my grandson used the toliet and came complaining he had a hard time finding the wipes. I had put them under the bathroom sink behind some other things thinking a 6 year old would not find them. Now the toliet is clogged again. I called Rescue Rooter again and since he hadn't been 24 hours they came out ..........no charge. A week later I received a letter from them thanking us for using them and enclosing a $50 gift card to use the next time we called. Needless to say they will be the ones we call.

Had 2 sinks backs up. When arrived got estimate of aprox $ 275. Then new estimate went to $ 850. Then wanted $ 2350 to replace the pipes. Told him I could not replace the pipes. He then cleaned the pipes and gave me a bill for $ 560. Will never use them again.

They have always done very good work for me. They were able to solve the problem.

It went fine. They went as advertised.

The work they have done has been very good. There was once a blockage that was under the house and they wanted to dig up. I called in another company to get a second opinion and they said there was no blockage in that area. I think they sometimes magnify the problem. But the routine work has always been good and they have always been prompt.

We have a cottage in the backyard. They found that there was a clog in the sewer between the cottage and the house. They came back with the camera and they went down through the vent on the roof. They were able to see where the clog was. We were looking for a clean-out and they said that we didn't have one. They did the camera, so they could possibly see it. They said that they would have to install a clean-out in order to get this clogged clear. They basically quoted us $2800 to install the clean-out and they said there was no other way they could do it. The day before they said they could go through this way, but then they refused to do that thing. If any sewage came up, then they would have to call an emergency service and we would be responsible, so we made them go away. They were sales type people and told that it was $4000 worth, but they were charging us less. We called another company and they charged $1300. Our tenant started digging on the side of the cottage and found a clean-out, so all this while we had a clean-out and they were trying to charge us to install it. There was one all this way, so we thought that they should have found that when they were using the camera. We were upset with them. We felt like it was a scam and they wanted to charge us for something that we had all along. We don't know if they knew about it all the way that time or didn't know about it.

Company was coming and Jeremy showed up within the hour and gave us a very professional estimate of what needed to be done after testing a number of the drains to see what was okay and what not. He also offered us discounts and the price above included an optional one year service plan. He removed a toilet in order to reach the major outlet and then ground out one whole side of the house. We subsequently asked to have the smaller drains by the sink ground out as well since they had not been done in ten years. He also offered a free inspection of the water heater and a warranty was included. He replaced and re-caulked the toilet. All was done promptly and neatly and everything was restored to order. He clearly knew what he was doing and everything has worked fine since. I would definitely call on them for future work and hope they send Jeremy. My son was very impressed with his professionalism and wished he was available in Virginia! There was no extra charge for service on the holiday.

They did a fine job. They were timely and did it well.

I always found they came out and did the work and it was fine. They are always prompt.

In general their service is very good and they are very responsive. I think they are very good with regular work but I would get a second opinion for work that was more critical.

I spent $1400 on that work. The price on the water heater was ok but they overcharged on everything. It was not very good and I would never use them again.

. They did not give me a price over the phone. I had used them before so I did not expect anything out of the ordinary. They got here and charged me $295, which I consider an exorbitant price just to clean the drains. Then they did not clean it properly so I send them a photo of what they did. Then I had to have someone else to clean it. I asked them for a refund which they refused because I did not have them comeback to do it. They took no responsibility for the fact that I took this photo and regarded it as total jung. I have sent them multiple e-mails requesting them an adjustment in the price. But they have only refused saying that I did not give them a chance to fix it. They don’t consider that their price is exorbitant. They used to tell the price on the phone now they don’t and they waste your time and then you need to get your work done. I had to spend another $150 to get it re-done. I was very disappointed with them. I would not use them in the future.

Would not give an estimate over the phone. When they arrived, they said they could do it, standard service, sign here (which my wife did without looking at the details because, with overflowing toilets, you want it taken care of immediately). But what they did not make clear was that their standard service was $550 - much higher that normal which we confirmed later was about $200. This increased cost was for performing additional services that we did not want or ask for: video camera sewer inspection and inside the house cleaning. When we complained, they said "no charge - just part of the service." They finished rooting in about twenty minutes and the unneeded services added another twenty-five minutes. When they finished, they said we had to dig up and replace the sewer line immediately because there were breaks in the sewer pipe and then threatened us that, if we did not do this, SOMEBODY would inform the city and the city would fine us for polluting the area and make us dig up the line at high cost. And, oh, yes, they would be happy to do it for $9,000!!! (Another plumber that we trust later reviewed the situation and said the line did not need repairing.)

He was not here at the time I was told. When I called they said he was on my street. My street is not a through street (short) and after a half an hour I called again to cancel. While I was on the phone he drives up. Since he was there I went ahead reluctantly. From that moment on it was a complete sales job. (I later heard they work on commission) I had trouble understanding him and he kept recommending I do this and that and what started out as an easy cleanout turned into a $730. job. When I called originally I mentioned I had broken the pipe that connects the disposal to the drain. They asked if I had a replacement. I said no but later my neighbor said I should get one because they will charge 3 times what I'd pay. That charge was already on the invoice and was more than 3 times what I paid for one. Part of his sales pitch was to ask asked about the water heater. I said it was getting old and he said he'd check it out. After unscrewing the valve on top, water poured out and he just kept saying the shut off wasn't working. The heater is in a closet in the hallway. I tuned off the water at the main. He pulls out the anode and tells me it's bad and needs replacing. $225.00. I could go on and on and the only reason I've waited to write this now is I had another backup (in bathroom shower) and called another company out. He was prompt, pleasant, informed me about what needed to be done and was able to do this in less than 2 hours. I feel I was taken advantage of by Rescue Rooter because I'm an older, widowed woman.

The job didn't go so well. They had a total estimate of $16,000 and I called another company I had used in the past and they said they could have done the whole thing for $6,000 and that Rescue Rooter was ripping me off. Since I had already signed the contract that they would get it unclogged I ended up having to pay $4,000 for not that much work. They did show up on a Saturday afternoon. They did show up when I called them, were here within an hour and worked all day Sunday. As far as the price, they were almost triple what the other company was going to charge me.

They were good. They had professional equipment, which was nice because they had a video camera on the end of the snake. They came right away and acted professionally. I haven't received the bill yet but I think they are going to charge me a lot. I think they are going to be kind of expensive.

He did not resolve the problem and did not properly re-install the toilet. The toilet was not tightened down all the way or properly reconnect the hose to the tank; both of which caused leaking. I called them the next day and they said they would contact me the following day. I have never heard back and it has been since February and still no response. I had a handyman come out and fix the problem they were unable to resolve.

Other companies have charged me for the same thing. They were prompt and professional. They were honest.

They came out and quoted a price of $300. They said they would pickup the new faucet which would cost $130. After thinking about it, we decided that they were too expensive, so we paid for the faucet and the trip charge. Then we installed it ourselves. Originally, I was thinking all that needed to be done was replace a washer in the faucet, but I couldn't get to the washer and they explained that newer faucets don't use washers. The only reason I called them was because I couldn't get to the washer. Replacing the whole faucet was relatively easy to do myself.

I will not hire Rescue Rooter again.
