The last time they came out they were wonderful, but have gone downhill. | |Their estimator, Juan, could not have cared less about this job. Misspelled name on invoice, lumped two jobs into one on the invoice, no follow up to the emailed quote (which had no additional info, just a blank email with attachment), no personal service, no interest whatsoever... felt like I was taking up his time when he came out for the bid. | |BTW, have seen his name pop up on numerous review sites so I don't feel singled out or that I may have done something to tick him off. | |If you make an appointment with Juan, forget it...

Description of Work: Replaced 21 feet of fencing shared with one of two neighborson side yard, 6-7feet high (slope) for $760. Neighbor very pleased and would use again. I would have rated the firm much higher if the first day's work matched the second day's work, The team on the first day worked hard and quickly and did very nice job all the way, including cleaning out brush, etc. The second day's jobs did not go so well. I had a fence built to enclose the swimming pool filters, etc (20 feet square, four feet high) and a front gate replaced ($200). I don't know whether it was because it was just myself overseeing that day (my son and the neighbors had been present the day before), or a new crew, or what, but I had to stand the crew out front after they'd "completed" the gate and ask them if they had any pride after comparing it to another front gate next door. It was a mess of old redwood, uneven, etc. I had them replace most of the boards and redo the setting. Then at 5 pm or so, the crew leader comes to tell me they were finished and needed the check. However, several boards were missing on the pool enclosure and several boards STILL needed replacing on the front gate and I refused to pay unless complete. (They had good wood on the truck and sufficient to use to complete the enclosure. I left them expecting to see them the following day, and lo and behold there came the sound of hammers. They completed the work around 6:30 and I paid them, but will not use again as the second crew was disrespectful, lazy and had to be brow beaten and denied payment before doing adequate work. I guess they think they don't have to do a good job if no man around! This may be a problem with the crews chosen. But if you are a single woman, (and I'm 70), I would caution against hiring unless you are comfortable overseeing every minute and being forceful when necessary.

 + -1 moreI have a very old flowering vine that was clinging to the fence and the workmen were very careful in cutting away the old posts and no damage was done to the vine. Naturally, I was very happy with the work they did. To find a company that really stands behind their work is a plus.
Description of Work: PSG put in a fence originally in 1998. Three of the posts rotted because the concrete was not put in properly; some at the bottom and some at the top and nothing in the middle. My neighbor phoned them and they came out to look at it and agreed that it was a bad job. They replaced the 3 posts at no charge which is a great guarantee of their work considering that the original work was done 11 years ago.

 + -1 moreA bit of communication problems, but all worked out in the end. Confusion by foreman about mixing cement before putting it in hole (best). Confusion about the stepping and where lattice was. Probably caused by us. Only quality problem was that fence was a few inches below grade on my side, so I had to dig out some dirt, especially important around posts. Be sure and get as much detail as possible in writing and get it changed on the paperwork as you go to prevent confusion. Lattice was very good quality.
Description of Work: Replaced 140' of fence in 2 days . 6' with lattice.

 + -1 morePSG's bid was less than the other fence company we called, and since our neighbor had used them for a different fence, with great results, we decided to go with them. They arrived promptly at 8am and were done before I got home at 3pm. None of the plants along the property line were damaged. They left our yard very clean - no random nails, sawdust, etc. We were really impressed with the quality of the fence, and how nicely the new gates worked. I had purchased a cheap gate latch for another project and offered it to them for use on our new one. They said that the latch they were going to install was much nicer, but if I didn't like it, they would come back and replace it. They were right-the latch they installed has a spring-loaded mechanism which works very smoothly.
Description of Work: Our +/- 40 year old, 5' fence was starting to wobble. We also noticed that either we could have our gate open, or our neighbor could - but not both at the same time. We discussed with our neighbor and decided to replace the fence and gates, as well as the 3' tall fence running between our driveways. PSG installed a new 7' tall fence, new 3' tall fence, and two new gates - hinged off of a new 6x6 post.

They came out promptly to give an estimate and to do the work when we accepted their bid. They put up our fence very efficiently. We are once again happy with their work.

 + -1 moreThe representative came out and gave an estimate, and once we agreed to the amount, they were out within a day or two to do the repairs. The crew was out early in the morning (the agreed upon time) and had the repairs done before noon. Aside from the new fence, you wouldnt have know they were here. They cleaned up all the old fencing and did little or no damage to plants around the area. We were impressed by their friendly and conscientious demeanor. They issued separate billing invoices for us and our neighbors, so we were only responsible for our share. This is not the first time we have worked with this company, we would recommend them to anyone. As a matter of fact, we recommended them to our mom and she was equally pleased with the work and the crew.
Description of Work: We had approximately 84 ft of fencing replaced along our driveway.

They would not even come out to look at their own work. It turns out the concrete was not poured correctly. Too little around each post and the fence did not hold up for very long.

 + -1 moreI got five different quotes, and PSG was the most economical by far. The team was fast and professional and got the job done in a day. They cleaned up all the debris, swept the driveway and hauled the old fence away. They were on time and very friendly. The fence looks great and got lots of compliments at our backyard wedding a month later. Since we split the cost with the neighbor, we got the board-on-board fence which looks the same on both sides.
Description of Work: PSG replaced an 80ish foot fence (different heights) and installed a matching gate. This was a difficult job because the post holes had to be enlarged, which meant drilling into our concrete driveway for a few of the posts, plus several of the posts actually sat on our neighbors driveway, which is 3-6 higher than ours. The neighbor requested that all the posts be put on my side, so new holes were required.

 + -1 moreFrom the initial estimate to completion of the project, everything PSG Fencing did went according to plan. Our estimator gave a detailed description of the materials, type of craftsmanship and was very knowledgeable and helpful in providing cost estimates -without time delays - for additional work not covered in the initial estimate. The two PSG installers arrived early on the appointed morning, we went over the plans for the additional work and they started tearing down the old fence about 8:00AM. By 4:00 PM, the entire project was completed. The installers were courteous, neat, and their craftsmanship was excellent, resulting in an attractive and sturdy fence, with no visible spaces along the bottom along the steep slope. All the old fence material was removed and the site left very clean. PSG had the lowest cost estimate and we felt very satisfied with the total value. Based on our experience, we would highly recommend PSG Fencing Inc.
Description of Work: PSG installed 73 lineal feet of a 6 foot high new fence with close louvered Redwood boards and rails, pressure treated kick-boards, and 4x4 posts, with a stair step design along a steep slope. They removed a 14 ft gate and reinstalled it with 4x6 posts. They also rebuilt a 16 ft section using new rails and new boards.

 + -1 moreThey showed up on time and didn't complain that there were still some vines clinging to the old fence. A problem did arise during the fence-building process: the fence started to slope, and it was very noticeable. Initially the foreman tried to convince me that it was nothing, it was because the ground wasn't level etc, but after I put the leveler on it myself and pointed out some other things, he admitted that there was a problem and set about the fix it. They also called the supervisor who called me and I described the problem again. Then they came up with a solution and made it work. In the end they did a good job and cleaned up efficiently.
Description of Work: PSG Fencing built a fence on the side of our house, including rebuilding a trellis for a kiwi and a gate.

Description of Work: Removed the old fencing as needed. Replaced the retaining wall under the fence on one side and replaced the fence on two sides of the property. Cut a concrete slab to restore the correct property line (cost was for my 1/2 of the work).

 + -1 moreThe workers showed up promptly at 8 am and were finished by noon. As before, they were efficient and pleasant. The man who seemed to be in charge was fluent in English, although the other workers may not have been. They tore out the old chain link and were reasonably careful not to harm the plants we pointed out as being important to us. I will be calling them again when I want to have an estimate on an arbor, since they do arbors and decks as well as fencing. I do recommend this company.
Description of Work: PSG did the work on two sides of our fence several years ago, and when we got together enough money, we called them to finish the job, because we noticed that the quality of their lumber was superior to many other fences weve seen. They completed the last 50 feet in about four hours.

THE BOARDS WERE PUT UP GOOD NEIGHBOR STYLE AND DO NOT HAVE GAPS BETWEEN THEM THE POSTS ARE SET IN CONCRETE SLOPING AWAY FROM THE POSTS TO KEEP WATER FROM PUDDLING AT THE BASES.
