The estimate for refinishing the floors was $1700 per room (we have four) and a few hundred dollars more if I wanted new floors. During the estimate appt., Pete spent about 1 1/2 hrs with me discussing the history of my floors and how he would refinish and such. His house is a showroom of his work and his work is very beautiful. He is extremely knowledgeable about floors and old homes. Unfortunately, his price didn't fit my budget so I couldn't hire him. If I had the funds, I would hire him in an instant. He and another partner does all the work. A friendly operation.

Pete and his assistant are the two guys running the show and doing the work. They were perfectly on time for each of the 5 days the job took. Extremely knowledgeable. I did not even know there was a magazine for artistic floor refinishing or that there are competitions! I can not rave enough about the quality of the job and I am a real stickler for detail. Quality is particularly apparent at the edges of the floor where it meets the baseboards. Without skinning one baseboard throughout the house, the sanded parts of the floor reached perfectly to the edges (confirmed while hand-painting several walls). The French finish is glorious to the eye and feels great to walk around barefoot. Pete doesn't compete on price and the job was twice the cost of two other bids I received. But, when the job is at least twice as good and the results are so beautiful, the money is well invested. You should be so lucky as to have this man do your work. He has earned my most glowing endorsement.
