Description of Work: After having a gas leak in our fireplace we shut off the gas until it coud be checked thoroughly and repaired. we were thankful that Penguin Fireplace responded quickly. Their service person arrived early on the scheduled date and expertly went about the business of inspecting and getting the unit up and useful again. We were impressed with his knowledge and efficiency. Would not hesitate to contact Penguin again for repairs, if needed, and purchase a new unit when we can.

Description of Work: I need service on my fireplace. I called, and after I said they hadn't installed it and I didn't know the make and model, I got shuffled off the phone. I guess they're too busy.

Description of Work: The owner first came to look at my project. He is an expert. I had them install the gas fireplace, build the mantel and install it and do all the tiling of the wall and hearth. They did a good job. The only thing there was not enough communication. I never knew when they would be here so it seemed to take way too long.

Description of Work: We've been to the store. We've had an appointment in our home. We have some homework to do. We need to pick out the tile/stone to resurface our fireplace & we need to pick our insert. The job will probably be done in early December. The meeting went very well. We were guided to figure out what we really want. Very good meeting!

Description of Work: Installed new fireplace. There is a smog which stays on it forever and is just impossible to remove. I contacted them regarding that but not much help.

Description of Work: We were having problems lighting the living room fireplace. Ended up being a really dumb error on our part...we had inadvertently turned off the pilot on the remote. Since there is a minimim trip charge, he rebuilt logs and added all the base product that really enhanced

Description of Work: The Penguin rep came over and quickly determined that my gas fireplace was working just fine. Problem? The gas valve key I had was worn out, stripped. He took one from his pocket and handed it to me. The cost for that? $125. So they get an "A" rating from me for their knowledge, promptness and courtesy... but perhaps the cost of $125 just to hand me a used fireplace key was a bit much. I could have picked one up at Orchard for less than five bucks. That's what they should have told me. And I certainly understand that these guys want to get paid for making house calls regardless of their time or what they actually do and that we pay them for their expertise not just actual work. But still, I thought $125 was over the top. Of course, I could be wrong. But I will shop around next time and certainly ask more questions before the repair guy comes out. But again, their service and everything else was fine. Steve Potter

Description of Work: Ephrain and crew installed a beautiful fireplace from scratch where there had been none before. The workmanship was excellent especially Enrique who installed the stone facing and mantel. The fireplace has added much to the home and makes the place more inviting. Friends just want to sit down and chat. They also cleaned up the area after construction. I got the fireplace I waned and then some. Thank you everyone at Penguin fireplaces and thanks to Gladys for keeping me up to date with any changes.
