They did a great job. They worked from engineers plans. They got the permit. They executed the work very well. They did a high quality job. They were punctual and professional. They also cleaned up after each day. The work took about a month. I was very happy with their work.

I started planing for the design of our remodel at 6 months in advance of talking with a contractor. I am detail oriented and choose not to have an architect or designer on the project. A structural engineer was used to help with the plans. Permits were handled by the contractor, we passed each construction milestone with no problems and had the permits signed off the first time on each inspection. We finished on schedule with no problems. Someone was working on the project at our home everyday. My Contractor, Rano was very good with communicating using email, text message and phone calls. He was a good listener and also able to discuss some of the pros and cons to ideas I would have. He managed all the workers and the material flow very well. I found things that I didn't realize I wanted differently until they were working on it and he was fair about how he charged for the change orders. I look forward to working with him again when the time comes to do the rest of our home.

North Current Builders are professional and did quality work. They were on time and they listen to us. They really appreciate the owner's input, which I like a lot. They want to make sure that you are satisfied to a degree that even the smallest things, they would come out and redo it if you are not happy about it, whatever the reason may be. I would definitely use them in the future.

The project could not have gone more smoothly. We were on a tight timeline because we were renting a home in addition to paying mortgage on the new home. We asked for completion of the project in 3-4 months and it came in just over 3 months. This is a multilevel home and we were amazed so much work could be done so quickly. Rano had his people on sight every week day up until the end when there was less to do. We did not live in the home during the renovation, and often we would come by in the evening to check progress and find people working well into the evening. Rano and his people were always easily reachable and highly professional. Rano is very particular and wants the job done right. If he can't do something well, he will tell you. We have since had him back to do additional minor work on the exterior of the home. We have many friends who have used Rano because of our referral.

I've used Rano for several projects from a kitchen upgrade and putting in recessed lighting into my master bedroom at my old townhouse. In addition he's done work for my brother and other relatives here in the bay area. My wife and I recently bought a new single family home and we contracted him to do a remodel that spanned new windows, new lighting, new wood flooring, new insulation, and other pre move-in "touchups". We thought we bought a "nice but on the older side of a house." Rano turned our house into our perfect dream home! Rano's customer service attitude is outstanding: He lays out your options clearly and outlines exactly what materials and labor cost. In addition he lets you know quickly if problems arise. Generally speaking I've never seen him miss a completion date; though it did happen this past remodel - but we can chalk it up to anal Foster City building inspectors. This resulted in us having to delay our move for a day, but this is where Rano really shined. The day prior to our move, he came to the new house and did a final clean up (edge to edge) at 9pm on a Saturday! This attention to detail always impresses me. I like anal construction people. :) Rano's team is excellent - he's the only one I trust to do multi day through multi week projects and give him full run of the property while we're at work. In addition I've always trusted his judgement when I ask the inevitable: "Is the extra $ in materials for this worth it?" There's no attempt on his side to upsell the unnecessary or un-needful. Of course, you don't tend to look for this particular quality in a top notch construction team. The North Current builders just seem to have it all. Well so about that "perfect" house comment - maybe... it'll be even more perfect when I save up to have him do our kitchen. :)
