It only took Luan about 30 minutes to diagnose and fix the problem. So my washer broke and was fixed all in the same day. This great experience has *never* happened to me before. Luan was great, I will call him any time an appliance breaks down!

It is so refreshing to have a repairman who is punctual, knowledgeable, and thorough. He does not only fix the rpoblem, but he explains how or why the problem occurred; if and how you can repair the problem on your own; and the repair is done immediately or withing 24 hours (if parts needed). LP has repaired a refrigerator, oven, and dryer. quickly and efficiently. And then to add to his professionalism and service, he will call you in 2 days to ensure that the repair is satisfactory. Old school service is hard to come by these days!

I called Luan this morning and he promptly returned my call. I explained that the Sears Kenmore front loading washing machine was not going into the final spin cycle. Last night I washed one load of 2 new beach towels with other wash that was successful. When I tried the next load of 4 new beach towels the final spin did not come on. The wet towels were very heavy. This is my first problem with this washer. Luan suggested I "reset" the washer by turning off the power to the washer for at least 10 minutes, then try a light load. I did this and the washer now works normally. Lesson learned - no more then 2 big beach towels at a time! :) Thanks Luan!

I called 7 other businesses before I found one who could come out to repair my broken washing machine on the same day. The business owner called me back within 5 minutes of the voicemail I left and was at my door within 2 hours! He had the necessary parts with him and completed work very quickly. The price seemed reasonable as well and he could not have been more polite. I will definitely call the next time I need appliance repair!

He came on time. Spent a total of 4 hours at the house, watching it NOT leak. He checked everything. Concluded it was not a stuck float. Felt a new door gasket might fix it but in his view the real culprit was the plastic inner door liner, which had warped, but which costs $350 installed, and he felt a new machine was a much better decision. We accepted his recommendation--do not bother to replace the door liner. We did elect to proceed, as our gamble, with a new door gasket. That has worked so far. His diagnostic skills and understanding seemed excellent. His prices are very reasonable. He definitely went far beyond what we were entitled to on this job. We will certainly use him again if/when we have need for any appliance repair.

I called to see if the company handled GE ovens given our pilot light now refuses to light. We already had it troubleshot and the recommendation was to get a service appliance person to come out and check the ignition mechanism isn't plugged or dirty or broken. We know we have power to the oven because the light works. However when explaining to the person who answered that we've already been told that the ignition will not light and the mechanism to see if we can get it to light failed based on the troubleshooting, he argued with me saying that I don't have pilot light. Of which I read him the information and he continue to say the model doesn't have one. I basically gave up since he seemed to think he knew more than the person who in the complex we live in comes and lights the pilot lights when our gas is shut off and then comes back on.

I would use him again. He was polite, knowledgeable in his field, arrived prepared for the job and was quick. It was an excellent experience and I would use him again in the future!

Luan met me on time and quickly identified the problem as the main board. He had the part on his truck and was finished with the job in about 45 minutes. He even cleared a plugged hot water line so now my hot water works great too.

I get home late last night and grabbed a juice from the fridge... I noticed it was warm, but the significance of that fact didn't really register in my brain (I was tired and heading to bed). the next morning, i opened my fridge to make breakfast, and WHOOSH, got hit with the smell of rotten milk. Blech. My fridge wasn't that old (7 years old, name brand) and wasn't looking forward to spending $2k+ on a brand new one, so decided to try risk a service call (preparing for the worst, that they were going to tell me it was a goner!) Anyhoo, I called LP Appliance during my lunch break, around 1pm, since they had so many good reviews here on Angie's List, although I was worried that they might not service my area (I'm in Gilroy, ~30miles south of their San Jose location). Not only did they say they could come to my house (for the reasonable price of $40), but that they could be there by 4pm this afternoon! And he was in fact there promptly at 4pm (moreover, he was patiently waiting for me in my driveway as I pulled in from work at 3:55pm). LP himself showed up (a kindly 50-ish Vietnamese man, who formerly worked at Whirlpool before going into business himself in '82) and correctly diagnosed the problem with my refrigerator in under 2mins -- it was a part called the "defrost timer", and as he worked he patiently answered all my curious questions about what the part did (one caveat: his accent is a bit strong, but still intelligible if you listen carefully). As I was about to write out the check (just $135 total), it suddenly occurred to me to mention that my electric stove needed some repair too (I have a nonfunctioning burner). He said he had some time and could take a look: again, he identified the problem right away (the burner plug interface was not oem and wrong spec which burnt out the connection, and he clearly showed me how that burner was different from the others). He ran back to his truck and came back with a new burner and wiring (he must have all kinds of stuff in there!), and after cautioning "dont touch me" as he handled some open wires with barehands, he fixed my stove too ($15 for new wiring receptacle + $30 for new burner coil). So, with just a few hours notice, LP fixed two major appliances in under half an hour, for only $180. Awesome job, great customer service, and at very reasonable prices -- I strongly recommend his services should you ever find yourself in the unfortunate circumstance of needing an appliance repaired!

Called Sat morning at 9:30 am and he was at my door 1.5 hours later. Amazing response, especially for a weekend. He took one look at the freezer and told me he knew what was wrong but did a test to confirm before he quoted a price. The repair was done professionally and the fridge/freezer work great now. Highly recommend and would definitely use again.

- LP Appliance was able to come out the day I called and had the parts on the truck. He replaced the computer board in the refrigerator and door switch. While he was here I also had him look at the dishwasher that was having problems, he made some minor adjustments and it has been working fine since his visit. He was very up front that the adjustments might not work for the dishwasher and If it stopped working he would refund the $ 25.00 charge and recommended against any further repairs, that I would be better off investing in a new one. He stayed to see if the dishwasher would run through several cycles (about 20 minutes). LP Appliance was very responsive and came in a timely manner, very thorough and knowledgable.

He took the dryer apart and determined that my twelve year old machine needed a new timer. He advised us of the price and labor to replace the timer, and suggested we may prefer to replace the dryer. We did get a new one. He was professional and seemed to be very knowledgeable.

I found them on Angie's List and the guy was phenomenal. When I first called he was the one that answered the phone and said he could get to my refrigerator around 2 p.m., but would call me if he could come earlier. He called and did come earlier. He made sure the refrigerator worked for us, which saved us from having huge problems. He was so good, diligent and checked everything out. This technician put in Freon and was really great; he was so nice it felt like family. My husband and I totally trust him. My advice to someone in my area who needs a large appliance repaired is to call him first; you can't be sorry with this guy. He gives incredible service.

I called Mr. Pham around noon to fix my refrigerator which was not cooling. He told me that he would be there in an hour to an hour and a half. He arrived promptly within an hour! He immediately determined that the compressor needed to be replaced, but he didn't recommend it since my refrigerator was about 10 years old. I agreed and figured it would make more sense to purchase a new one at a later point in time (since it is an additional one we would use to store extra food items). His service was very helpful in determining the root cause of the issue. He was very professional, prompt, and knowledgeable.

I didn't realized that the freezer portion was not working, I thought it was the refrigerator. They responded quickly with my phone call. They took care of everything. They got it fixed at no time. They gave me a fair price. The fact that they came in on Sunday, that was very impressive.

We had used LP Appliances Service before to repair our clothes dryer and were very satisfied so we chose him for our refrigerator problem. We called at 9 am, and Luan Pham was there at 10:30. He diagnosed a failed main control board, had the part with him, pulled the refrigerator out, changed the board and appeared delighted that he could tell right away that it was now defrosting. He was cheerful, informative, very quick, and this was on MLK holiday! The price of $265 included the service call, the 20 minutes to replace the board and the GE genuine board ($165). We would definitely use him again and recommend him to others.

He came exactly when he said. The washer had no power at all. He diagnosed it as the sensor, replaced it, and it works perfectly. Very reasonable price, and very quick and painless.

I called Luan after reading posts on AL. I had service scheduled with GE to repair my new used Refrig. He answered the phone promptly and scheduled same day service even coming from San Jose. He actually arrived about 45 min ahead of schedule. In about 15 min, he determined my problem and was able to fix it the same day with a part he had in his truck. It happen to be a part that he rarely finds an issue with. I would recommend him and use his service again.

The owner, Luan Pham, arrived right on schedule to do the work. The diagnosis of the problem was accomplished within a very short period (as mentioned, a water pump gone bad) and the installation of the new water pump took just a few more minutes to accomplish. While I might have been able to correct this problem myself, it would have taken the better part of a day to figure out the issue, identify the needed part number, find a local source for the part and buy it. And inevitably, the part would have been the wrong one requiring a trip back to the parts supplier. Calling Mr. Pham saved many hours of my time and was well worth the repair cost. Plus, the job was done right the first time. It was a pleasure to deal with Mr. Pham and I con recommend him without reservation. Good man.

Our top loader washer was making a loud noise when spinning. We have a newborn = lots of laundry all the time. After a brief call, LP came out within two hours. He inspected the washer. His conclusion was that the washer was fine, we didn't load it in a balanced way so the weight of the laundry pushed it around. LP demonstrated it for me. He was right. He checked the washer and the dryer for any other possible issues, charged only $35 and left. Great service, very nice man, I would call on him again.

Good experience from initial call to visit. Verbally troubleshot. 1st rehooked dishwasher. Took apart dryer & put in new part. Replaced burner. All working. seemed good. However, perhaps dryer isn't blowing hot air anymore as it didn't seem to the last time I tried using it. Dishwasher is out of space so door won't shut now. And I forgot I bought replacement burners on sale already, so now have an extra one. Only note I spoke of the angies list discount. Printed it. But forgot the printout as I wrote out my check payment. Thinking its good he has skills & experience & we can chat tho still cost for the short time which was great that he could 'fix' all. And he didn't mention the 5-10-15% off at the end either.

Upon calling Mr. Pham, he asked for the model of the oven and right away he knew that he was dealing with an older model. He mentioned that he would possibly not be able to hinge the door back to its original position since parts for that model are no longer made. I appreciated that he made me aware of this fact beforehand. It was a Tuesday evening when I called him, and he came in the next morning at 8:30am. When he arrived, Mr. Pham was very courteous and friendly, greeting everyone at home as he came in. He got to work right away, and after doing a diagnostic check for about 15 minutes he determined that the burners were out. He told me that he would be going to purchase the items and would be back in about 30-45 minutes. Close to 40 minutes later, he was back and took about 15 minutes to complete the service. He was able to hing the door back a bit, but it looked much better than it did before and it is opening and closing properly. Mr. Pham was very efficient and focused in his work. He performed the service one day before Thanksgiving and we were able to use our oven for a delicious meal the next day! I highly recommend his services!
