Hernandez Painting

Description of Work: We hired Eric for several jobs. We just moved into an old fixer upper that needed a lot of attention. Our first project was to paint the exterior. It had been many years since the last paint job. As a result, a lot of prep was required. We had good luck with Eric in the past, so we asked for a quote. He came out the next day and surveyed the house and gave us a quote for complete prep and paint. The quote sounded good, but we went and got 2 more quotes anyway. Wow. I was surprised how much some painters want to charge for a paint job. Eric was much more reasonable, and I already knew the type of work he had done for us in the past. The job took about 4 days in total. Eric and his crew spent a majority of time on the prep work to replace dry rot trim around some of the windows, caulking and sanding of other spots before applying the paint. Then it really popped! We have had lots of compliments of people in the neighborhood. Since then, we have had Eric back for 3 separate projects. He took down old wallpaper (from the 60s) in the guest bathroom and was able to preserve most of the texture so that all he really needed to do was paint. Fantastic. We also wanted to redo the existing dining room which had an old fake wood paneling as wainscoting. It looked awful, so we asked him to remove and paint. Once he started to remove the wainscoting, he discovered there was no sheetrock. We were both surprised, but he took the bull by the horns and got the sheetrock up and textured to match the existing wall. We decided mid project to do two tone paint with a chair guard to emulate a more contemporary wainscoting. He also updated all the baseboard and casing. Real pro job - looks awesome. We came back a few weeks later and painted our kitchen. We told him just to do a "basic" job because we plan on remodeling the kitchen in 18 months anyway. It also turned out great and really brightened things up. Maybe we can do with our kitchen for longer now! We would highly recommend Eric for any painting related project you might have. He has high integrity and won't finish until you're completely satisfied with what he is doing.
