No formal inspection was done. We discussed issues over the phone and, with that information, I decided to work with my remodeling contractor for resolutions and further reviews. HC did respond very quickly and I'm very happy with the working discussion they had with me - it was at no charge. They provided an approximate quote for a formal inspection and written structural report that I think was reasonable and competitive. Humza was very helpful.

HC Structural Engineering was asked to evaluate the structural integrity of an office building that was constructed in 1983 and that was upgraded after the Loma Prieta earthquake in 1989. Humza Chowdhry and his team were incredibly focused, understood what needed to be accomplished, completed their work on schedule, provided me with an excellent report with detailed suggestions and recommendations and they completed this project on budget. They promised a lot and delivered everything that they promised. I give them my highest recommendation.

HCSE prepared my building plans for a detached garage/workshop. I initially intended to use an existing set of plans available from various online sources but couldn't find them with the vaulted ceiling I wanted and within my city's height restrictions. I approached HCSE with the idea of modifying available plans closest to my needs but after consulting with HCSE owner Humza Chowdhy he suggested that it might make more sense to have his firm prepare the plans themselves. After considering I agreed and Humza assigned one of his associates, Ron Yu to be the lead engineer on the project. As the project proceeded, Humza and Ron answered all my questions promptly, thoroughly and professionally. The plans were completed well within the established timeline and I was quite pleased with the results. I recently submitted the plans for approval with the Redwood City Permit Bureau and they were approved and a building permit issued after only one meeting with a plan checker. HC Structural was great to work with. We needed someone to make some changes to existing plans when our existing engineer flaked on us. Humza and his team were great! They turned around new engineering plans quickly, were very receptive and responsive to our needs and questions and were a pleasure to work with. I wish we had found them before getting involved with our initial architect and engineer!!

Was very quick to create custom structural plans for a new exterior entryway for my house. The plans were accepted for permits without any modifications. I did some of the initial construction work myself. The plans were straight forward to follow. Any questions I had were answered promptly by the engineers at the firm.

They showed interest in my project, listened to my needs and rapidly prepared a drawing details and calculations for my project, for a very reasonable price, overall the experience was awesome and definitely would recommend HC Structural Engineering, Inc. For your engineering services.

They were on time, looked at the building and gave me an idea what I needed done in the intial consultation for $350, to proceed further would have cost more.

Not the most thorough nor the most prepared. You need to ask the right questions, or you don't get the answers. He was also the most expensive out there.

Humza is amazing. I called him Friday afternoon at 2pm and asked if he could come that day to Sunnyvale. - completely last minute. He understood the situation and willingly sat in traffic. Had my business right there. At the property himself, he was awesome. He was able to look at things and determine weakness in the structure. He even found stuff that our inspector completely missed. He answered all of our questions, and even called a contractor on our behalf to get a quote. He is extremely knowledge and very patient and a very friendly attitude. I highly recommend him.

Humza is an extremely courteous and professional Structural Engineer. He worked with the "Fred Flintstone" plans (city did'nt approve) my contractor drew up, and designed a detailed working model that the City Planning Office approved on the very first visit. Humza addressed each of my multiple questions which made me feel VERY comfortable with him and his work. Thanks Humza.

Engineer was friendly, I got the appointment quickly, and i received my report the next day.
