Good job and on time.

Golden Gate came out quickly when we requested an estimate. They made clear drawings of each of our properties and provided individual estimates of the costs for each of the 4 neighbors, detailing which fences were shared between neighbors and which were the sole responsibility of the individual. Their bid was not the lowest we got but it was competitive and we felt the quality might be better than the lowest bidder. When we decided to move forward, Golden Gate scheduled the job to fit our timing and worked quickly to complete the work within a week. The workers were friendly, the work was done well and all of us were satisfied with the final fences. After the work was completed, I found that an irrigation pipe had been broken during the fence installation. Golden Gate responded immediately and sent a crew to repair the pipe, no questions, no hassle and no added cost.

I never hear from the company again.

These guys are fast. They arrived exactly when promised and had the old fence and shed demolished in half a day. They built most of the retaining wall the same day, and came back the next day to finish. Very efficient, and the work was good. Clean-up was less than perfect. They left some lumber, shed scraps, and dirt behind. I got them to clean most of it up before they departed. A couple of minor issues necessitated a return visit to fix up some details, but that, too, was handled promptly.

Arturo, the estimator, called us the first business day after leaving a message. He was professional and knowledgeable. They were happy to wait while we got other estimates. Arturo was willing to make adjustments to our fence wood types to help reduce the costs without sacrificing quality. Once we chose them to do our fence they started work the next day! The work was done over 2 days very efficiently and the results were excellent. Although we made sure they had a restroom available to them they did have need to use it. They cleaned up afterwards nicely. They tried (and succeeded) in not harming the plants, even though we did not ask them to be careful - we just figured the plants would be sacrificed.

The company Arturo represented was the only fencing company of six contacted that would consider taking off the gas and electric pipes and reinstalling. Other companies either wanted the owner to remove and replace the pipes or would not even bid on the job. The job had to be rescheduled once due to neighbor's absence during the initial bid process. Overall, the three workmen efficiently performed the difficult tasks of removal of the old fence and pipe bracing along some very steep slopes; and also removing and replacing the old retaining wall near a raised section of the yard. Some of a concrete walkway between the houses had to be broken by hand to provide enough of a hole to set the new posts. The finished fence looks very sturdy and attractive. The workmen were very courteous and easily answered all our questions during the project. Everything we agreed upon in our initial discussions and contract specifications was done to our satisfaction. The price estimate was exactly what the final bill was; our neighbor's bill was $2050, and ours was $2370- including the additional fence repairs.

Pricing: $915 was my share of cost. Total cost of job was $1950. Costing was $24 per foot for 6 ft high redwood fencing, and $27 per foot for 7 ft high fencing (18 of the 54 feet). Plus me and the neighbor each got our gates replaced. I had 6 feet with gate ($240), and neighbor at 11 feet ($360). No extra charges for digging through the concrete. Quality: Very good. This is the 3rd section of fencing we have had replaced. Used other contractors on previous jobs. Pricing is all very close. GG Fencing uses solid bottom and top rails, rather than the carved out rails that seem flimsier. The gate and its hardware is far superior to the hardware used on my other gate. The crew knew what they were doing, and were thorough. Responsiveness: I got an estimate within 2 days of calling them. That was great. They would have been out the next day, but I wasn't ready. With another company, they were replacing half of the back fence, and I asked if they could do the estimate for the entire back fence (2 different neighbors), and they asked me to make a separate appointment. Heck with that. Back to GG Fencing. The estimator showed up on time, was thorough, explained what the job entailed, provided details on their license and insurance, gave me the detailed pricing. Once my neighbor and I decided to go ahead, they were out here within 3 days. The only hiccup was, the crew started in the afternoon. The receptionist implied it was a quick job, so when the crew disappeared at 5 PM, and I had no gate, I was concerned. (All our junk was visible to the neighbors, but more important, I had a wandering dog and a swimming pool to worry about). Crew showed up the next morning and finished the job by 11 AM, and did a reasonable job of cleaning up.

The job was done more quickly than I had anticipated and the quality of work was excellent. I was especially impressed with the gate. It was much heavier and pleasing to the eye than I expected. They were careful not to trample several plants that I had marked for saving. All debris was cleaned up and hauled away. I had very little interaction with the workers after I greeted them and gave them access to the backyard. When they did have a question they were very professional interfacing with me. I called once and left a message, but did not get a response the same day. I was anxious to get the work started so I called back the next morning and was able to set up an appointment for a quote.

Everyone was on time, from the estimator to the work crew. They were friendly, efficient, did the work quickly and for exactly the price that was quoted. The quality is great, and it looks fantastic! Excellent work for a very good price.

OK. The workers came on time and started the demolition which was done in one day. The next day they began to rebuild the fence (I was at work most of that day). When I came home the fence was mostly done. Upon my inspection there were some problem areas as well as some more construction left to be done. Two things I did not anticipate were: (1) My side hedge was used as a toilet, and (2) the workers used my back patio table and chairs for eating (that was fine), but they left the table and surrounding patio area strewn with food debris. Early the next morning, one of the workers came to my door and demanded payment! The job was not finished, there were other problems, and I was angry. I called the office of Golden Gate but no one was answering the phone. The job was ultimately finished during the following week but that is no way to run a company!

They gave a good estimate, agreed on a date, came out, and completed the work in two days. They were on time and very efficient.

I had three fence companies come out to provide estimates. Golden Gate was by far the easiest to get a hold of, the clearest in their communication both as to when they could do the work and how much it would cost...and their bid was the lowest. I could always reach someone if calling during office hours. They were professional, came out when they said they would, were finished within the day and completely cleaned up. The fence work looks great. One of the other companies wanted us to remove plants, however Golden Gate didn't need anything from us. They took care of everything from start to finish. We needed the bills split among the three families involved....Golden Gate took care of this for us, providing invoices to each family so that we didn't have to deal with it ourselves.

They did an excellent job. They finished the job quickly. The results were great. They were clean, professional, and on time.

The fence was about ready to fall over from storm damage. I called to make an appointment for an estimate. Arturo came out and looked at the fence. We discussed some options. He offered some suggestions, mainly that the new fence be installed in a slightly different location than the old one, so that it would be more stable. The fence was installed two days later. The work crew arrived on time and started to work immediately. I discussed the job with them to verify what was to be done. The work was completed in about five hours. They called me and I came home to inspect it. There was some excavation dirt and concrete debris left in the work area, so I asked them to remove it. They promptly complied with my request. The fence was expertly installed with quality materials. It will probably last for another 30 years.

They did a very good job. The fence and gate is very solid. They were punctual and got the job done in the amount of time they said. The crew was very courteous.

Quote was done two days after calling them. They were able to schedule the job within a week and completed the job in two days. They provided the lowest quote and longest warranty. I originally wanted to use better quality boards for aesthetics. But I was told you can't tell the difference after they've aged and the color will all look the same. I'm kinda regretting it now, but hoping he's right.

I left a message with them about an estimate and never heard back. I might try to contact them one more time.

They were nonresponsive and then rude over the phone.

Could not talk to the workers since they only spoke Spanish, but they did a great job. The fence is pretty tall and solid. Good grade of lumber. They will be back to do some more if I need it in the future.

GOLDEN GATE FENCE INC DID A VERY GOOD JOB OF PUTTING UP THE FENCE ON THE SIDE OF THE HOUSE. THE PRICE INCLUDED 2 GATES. THEY DID A VERY GOOD JOB, and I AM HAPPY WITH THE WAY THE FENCE LOOKS and THE WAY IT IS HOLDING UP.

A friend told me about this company. They give a ten-year guarantee on the fence. They built a redwood fence and post cemented it in the ground. I was very happy with my overall experience with this company. The quality of their work was very good.
