GARDEN CITY DESIGN

Mike was an answer to our prayers! He was everything you hope for in a contractor: professional, conscientious, communicative and cleans up after himself every night! We had a back yard that was a patch of trees and a rock hard soil with a weed lawn. Now, it's filled with colorful hummingbird-friendly plants, trees and a lush lawn. To help give us a taste of his work, he gave us a sample garden design that helped us visualize our mutual ideas. No other contractor would do this without upfront payment! What work he couldn't do himself, such as our paver patio and steps, he brought in trustworthy craftsmen whose work met his high personal standards. He's now working on our neighbor's yard. We feel confident that although the job is done, our relationship with him and his care for our yard will continue. When ready, we'll hire him again to redesign our front yard.

Mike is fantastic to work with. He is really good at incorporating your input into his designs, and his knowledge of plants is outstanding. After the plans were settled on, he took us to the nursery and told us about each type of plant he was thinking about putting in, and getting our input on them. He worked very diligently: he would give us almost daily status reports as well as tell us what he planned to do next and when. If he was going to have a late start on a day, he would call to tell me what time he would be there. He's very upfront and honest, and there were no surprises during the process. Our total price was about two thousand less than the next cheapest bid, and about ten thousand less than the most expensive. When he started, my backyard was nothing but mud and three foot high weeds. Three weeks later, I had a backyard that my family and I love to spend time in and that we love to show off to our neighbors!
