Description of Work: Installed an alarm system. System began sending out false alarms. Technicians sent to correct it, but just took parts off line and never got back to us about how to correct. Eventually people came to look but told us the system they had installed was not that reliable and parts would need to be replaced with more stable parts. Promised to have the owner come and make a recommendation. Months went by but no one contacted us or came out. We fired them for incompetence (sending poorly trained technicians, setting up a system that failed, not being responsive and not following through). We do not recommend them at all.

When Mr. Escobar initially came out, he was very informative about the wireless versus hard wired systems. This was very helpful when I had to decide which system to buy. Installation costs for the hard wired system were quite a bit more because of the greater amount of labor, but the equipment is all mine, and the monthly monitoring costs are most reasonable. The installation crew was polite and competent, cleaning up most of their work areas. I was extremely impressed with the fact that they had to work in the attic crawl space on one of the hottest days of the year, and the next day had to crawl under the house as well. I appreciated the fact that they pointed out the need for an additional alarm point which would help protect the cars in the garage. They were also very patient in training me on the use of the system. When I asked about a remote on/off control, I learned of a very new program which allows me to control the system remotely from my iPhone. My only concern had to do with the scheduling of the extra half day to install that remote system. Since I added the remote system at the end of the 2nd day, they were unable to send someone out the next morning. Instead, I waited until mid afternoon for the worker to come out, do the work, and train me on its use. As a result, I had to cancel some plans for that day in order to wait for him, although I feel most of this problem was my fault due to the last minute addition of that remote system. I'm very happy with the system and feel much more secure in my home. I also know it works, sadly due to 2 false alarms which I tripped accidentally as I learned to use the system! Oh well, at least I'm learning! I would have no problem recommending Escobar's Security Plus!
Description of Work: J. Escobar came to give me an estimate for a home security system, informing me about a hard wired system (which he uses) versus a wireless system. After investigating a bit more, I decided to go with Escobar, although the hard wire system is more costly to install. Within a week, his crew came, taking 2 1/2 days to install. I was able to add on one more security point and also install a remote system which allows me to use my iPhone to remotely turn the system on and off. They also took a good amount of time training me on the use of the system.

The repair was made and we were not charged because the problem was most likely caused by another technician at an earlier time - about a year ago when the system was installed. | |Honest and really friendly and helpful people.
Description of Work: The security system was not working properly. It was unable to detect that one of our windows was open. | |Technician spent a good hour and a half troubleshooting the problem.

Originally I had them come out to see if they could help me with a code situation, but I remembered I had to get the second half of the new screen door I had wired. They did this for me perfectly, spent about an hour completing the job and tested the system to make sure it worked properly. We are very satisfied with their professionalism and their customer support.
Description of Work: They installed a second security strip on a double screen glass door I had installed previously. There was no service contract and the alarm system I have is a local, in house system.
