Economy Rooter

Very well. The installer was on time, professional, and got the job done in a reasonable amount of time.

I contracted through Lowes"s for the purchase and installation of a water heater. The quality, thoroughness, and professionalism of the Economy Rooter's representative was excellent in all aspects. My overall rating would have been "A" if I only considered performance of the representative performing the installation. The drop in Overall Rating to "B" is the result of what I consider to be excessive pricing for miscellaneous parts that I either neglected to purchase at the time I placed my order with Lowes or later determined to be needed to bring things up to code. Lowe's billed $359 for the basic installation. I ended up paying an additional $234 (or 65% of the basic charge)for 4 items. Among these items (1)Drip Pan which I could have purchased at Lowes for $22, charged $85. (2) Three small parts for a gas trap which I could have purchased at Lowes for approximately $12, charged $49.99, (3) Bracing, which amounted to 2, 2 foot 2"X"4 boards which an 8 foot board sells at Lowes for $6 or $7, charged $35, and (4) Bonding, which honestly I am not sure what was required, charged $65. The rep had all the parts on his truck, did not have to leave site to get them, and individual install times were 5 to 10 minutes at most. Again, just felt like this was excessive mark up for parts and effort to install. Thus, the Overall Rating of "B".

I called and made an appointment for Wed., the 8th. No one showed up; when I called they said I was mistaken and it was for the 9th (I am sure it was the 8th). The installer, Michael, showed up on time, looked at the opening for the dishwasher, and told me the new one wouldn't fit. He said new Bosch dishwashers didn't have adjustable feet -in fact very few new dishwashers did- and he could either return the dishwasher to Lowe's or I could get the height shaved by 1/4". He then left, having done nothing and told me Economy would be billing me for storage --he left the new dishwasher in my yard. I called Eric Calamia of Tool Time handyman service and explained I needed 1/4" shaved. He came and checked the new dishwasher (still in the box) and found that it did in fact have adjustable feet, removed the old dishwasher and installed the new one, no problem. I went to Lowe's and spoke to Rich an a**'t manager and explained I had paid twice for the installation. He refunded me all the money. That I really appreciated. He said they would be checking on Economy Rooter. I never heard from Economy Rooter again.
