Dick's Antennas

Dick is a rare breed of tradesmen. He has old school ethics and works until the job is done correctly and to the customer's satisfaction. My requirements were tough ( hiding wires, antenna location, and reception desire) - Dick met and exceeded those requirements.

I had a malfunctioning TV and called Dick's Antenna. My call was returned promptly. He listened to my lengthy description of the failure and the components in my home theater system. When it appeared it wasn't an antenna issue, he advised me of several things I could try. He was very generous with his time and knowledge, for which he wasn't getting paid, and I appreciate that very much. If I ever do need antenna work in the future, this will definitely be the company I will call.

I had Dick install a Antennas Direct C2-V-CJM ClearStream 2-V antenna installed on my house in San Jose this week. Very happy with the results. Dick and his helper Casey arrived on time and worked non-stop till the job was finished. It took a little longer than originally anticipated, but the work is very high quality and I am satisfied with the results. Highly recommend them if you are considering cutting the cord on cable or Dishes.

My parents were very grateful and he did an excellent job. He said he wouldn't charge because of their situation. He was very generous. He also called me to follow up and tell me that everything had been taken care of. He was a very kind man.

My parents are elderly and like to watch news and foreign-language programming. When their reception went out, they didn't know who to call as they are hesitant to let strangers in their house and they don't speak English well. I got on Angie's list, saw Dick's reviews and gave him a call. I explained the situation. Dick went to their house twice--the first time to access the situation and set up a temporary solution and the second time to make the permanent fix. He showed them which way the antenna should be pointed, changed an outdated and rusting cable line and hooked them up again. My parents said he was professional, gracious and extremely generous. "We don't know such a kind man existed in the world anymore." Their exact words.

After my initial phonecall, Dick responded immediately - which I very much appreciated. He was pleasant, professional and very knowledgable. He called ahead to reconfirm the appointment and arrived on time (early). I told him I had lost prime time channels and received poor reception, with loss of signal quite often (especially when it was windy or raining). He confirmed that not only was my rooftop antenna old, but not secured properly. Dick and his assistant, Moses, removed the old antenna and replaced with a new one they had brought. They secured it properly and replaced the old wire/cable with coax, running it from the rooftop through the attic into the house. My reception is always clear and consistent now and I have not lost signal since. Dick was extremely knowlegable and worked very hard - getting the job done quickly. He was honest, trustworthly, had the utmost professionalism and was a pleasure to work with. I enjoyed chatting with him - he's a delightful man!! I would definately recommend him and would hire him again in a heartbeat. I give him an A++ rating!

Removed satellite dish that was no longer being used. Very professional service, attentive to details and to plugging up holes, etc. so that water would not seep in, also to cosmetics. Very good job overall.

Dick did a really great job. He was on time, had me walk him through what I wanted done and went over all the different ways to do it and then gave me a time estimate. He did quality work and I'd definitely use him again.

They were very professional. They answered all our questions. They were very comfortable to work with and did what was required. I was very happy with their services. They are very busy and not always available. I would rate them high overall and would be using their services again after two weeks.

Dick came to to give an estimate for a rooftop antenna, since we really hate paying $54/month for TV that we don't watch, but would like to get at least one local channel for news purposes. He told me immediately that I would have problems, since I'm only one mile south of downtown San Jose and my house backs up to a two-story warehouse. He could get the antenna high enough over the warehouse's roof line, and I could take out trees in the way--but I would have all the tall downtown buildings between my antenna and the transmitters. He said I simply wouldn't get much of a signal, and he didn't want to waste my money in trying. I greatly appreciated his knowledge and his honesty--would recommend him to anyone!

Outstanding communication and service. Even though it was in between rainstorms, Dick communicated when the appointment would be and even called on the morning of the appointment to inform me he was running about 15 minutes late. The estimate/install went very smoothly and he was extremely professional. I highly recommend his services and will definitely use him again if/when the need occurs

Since this is the second time we use Dick's service, he come and do his work right away without an estimate. Previously he move 2 existing outlet from the floor to the wall and add 2 more outlet (one combo with phone) in 2 different rooms. He uses the existing cable so we do not spend extra to buy a new one.

He did everything, took much longer then he expected (since I changed up a few things on him) but didn't charge me anything extra. Was really great to have do the work, I'd recommend him to anyone in a heartbeat.

It went very well. Dick showed up as scheduled, talked me out of buying a few things I didn't need (I didn't need a rotor, and I didn't need a new antenna, my antenna from my old house was in good enough shape). He gave me an estimate of $125. We talked some more, and I asked him if while he was up there, would he mind installing a new spark arrestor. He said sure. And while we were looking around the house, I saw the satellite dish the previous owner used that I have no need for. He said he'd take that down, too. Then he left to go get some parts and my wife picked up a spark arrestor from a home improvement store. He came back later that day and went to work. A few hours later he'd removed all the old stuff, installed and aligned the antenna, run new coax under the eaves and behind the gutter and along the house so expertly it was all but invisible (previously we had brown balanced cable flopping in the wind beside the house), and I was getting great signal strength for every HD channel possible (including 36 and 54 which the antenna was not pointing optimally at) no need for a rotor, just like he said. With the additional tasks I'd asked him to do, I was bracing myself for his final quote which was $125. He stuck to his original bid even though I'd enlarged the project after he gave me the quote and it had taken him more than 2 times longer than he expected. I was so impressed with the quality of his work and his professionalism that I wrote him a check for $250.

Found Dick's Antenna's thru the Yellow Pages after 2 previous satellite installers failed our phone interview. Dick has been installing roof top antennas for 30+ years. His utility truck is well worn but Dick quickly impressed me as a master of his trade (I guess it goes with the saying never judge a dentist by their kids teeth or a car mechanic by their own car). Dick's industry knowledge, depth of experience in installing antennas and satellite dishes and professionalism was great! I liked the fact that he was very careful/particular about not having the satellite dish installed in a way that could lead to roof leaks. He is very detailed oriented and I can now see that the roof will blow off before the satellite dish will! Would not hesitate to hire him again. He charges a reasonable $80 an hour plus parts.
