Description of Work: Put up a new fence and gate. For the most part it was good, but there were a few boards that weren't nailed in, three were buckled and had to be replaced. The gate was put together shoddily and the latch was such poor quality that the first time the wind blew the gate when it was open, the latch bent to a right angled position. The metal was so soft I could bend it back part of the way so that the gate would latch. | |When I called about the problems, a crew arrived unannounced on Memorial day, luckily I was home. They replaced the above mentioned boards, but did not have enough to redo the gate. The crew who came out told me that that the agreed it was shoddy work and that the guys who put up the fence had been let go. Interestingly, the owner told me he put it up himself. After a couple of emails and phone calls about the gate, they must have come out one day and redone the gate, they never called to tell me they were coming. There is a new latch but have not tested it in the wind. | |The owner was very nice to speak to and I was surprised that the work was not better than it was. This is a typical case of "you get what you pay for". The cost was shared with my neighbor, I don't recall exactly how much it was but it was half of the other quote we got.

Description of Work: Replaced approximately 70' of redwood fencing. I was impressed with the workers but a bit disappointed in how they structured the deal. My deal included taking down the tree's that grew into the old fence; they didn't come prepared to really take down those "tree's from heaven" which are wild tree's. I did about 8 hours of work along aside them helping them cut down the down the tree's. And, I took most of the old fence down because they were too aggressive and did not try to save the boards. So, I had to hire someone to help me do this and I worked till I couldn't move along side these guys. Now, I asked for a reduction in price because of all the work I did to make sure things went well, and told them they could leave the tree debris out front for the SJ recycle to pickup, but they wouldn't and they charged me for take away of tree debris and would not give me a discount. and no way they would do that. And, they did a poor job on the tree removal's and exclaimed they weren't prepared to do all that. But, that's not my fault is it? I'm so tired of happy "we can do it all" proposals and then you pay a premium price and "guess what" you have to make them do all they signed up to do and they really didn't mean to do as good as a job as they promised. But, the fence work was done well.

Description of Work: Came for an estimate. He got there at the very beginning of the time frame given. He was very courteous, professional and, I felt, very helpful for someone who knows very little. He very patiently and professionally answered all my questions. I received an estimate by e-mail the next day.

Description of Work: We hired Cuevas Lumber and Fence to finish enclosing an area on our lot that was partially enclosed by our garage and other existing fences. We wanted 6 ft chain link, because one use of the area will be dog run, and also vegetable garden. They installed two gates along with the fence, and, they were going in and out of another gate that had a latch on it that has been bad and driving me nuts for three years. Before the guys left here, one of them just fixed my old latch! | |The quality of the work was great, and every contact that I had with the people at this business was pleasant. Description of Work: Replaced two sides of the back fence

Description of Work: Build a double gate with a walk through gate.

Description of Work: Installed 331' of 6' tall redwood fencing with 12" lattice on top plus one gate. They used 4x6 posts sunk 3' into the ground. They were prompt and kept the place clean. They were very friendly and made the arrangements with my neighbors for cost sharing. I'm very pleased the the final result and I highly recommend them.

Description of Work: Put in about 40ft of 6' fence and 2 small-ish gates between the house and side fence. |The Cuevas quote was much more reasonable than other quotes, the work was scheduled about 3 days after we accepted the quote and the work was done exactly as discussed. |They showed up even though it was raining lightly the whole day, kind of strange for San Jose. |They finished the work same day, working from morning until mid-afternoon, with a sort lunch break. |They left the area clean at the end of the job. |"A" accross the board from me!

Description of Work: Replaced Redwood fencing around entire house. Easy from start to finish. The only mistake I made is waiting about 4 months between estimates. The cost went up about $400. The work was excellent. Much better construction than the previous company I used about 10 years ago. Even the gate hardware was upgraded. The job was estimated at four days but the crew worked about three 10 hour days and got the job done early. I couldn't be more pleased with the entire process from estimate (s) to final construction. Even talking to the office staff (Kim) was professional. She applied the $85 Angies Discount to my final bill. Thanks......

Description of Work: Fidel came and took measurements. Before he left, he completed the estimate for the job. Work was scheduled for 1 week later. Prior to beginning the work, I had a couple of questions, including installing a fire gate in the fence. That was easily incorporated into the construction. The crew arrived on schedule, and 1/2 hour later a 2nd crew arrived. The work, with 2 crews, was completed in 2 days instead of the original 4 days that were scheduled with one crew. A 400' welded wire fence with redwood 2x4" top and bottom rails were installed. This was on a steep hill. There was no damage, and everything was cleaned up before they left the property. I have recommended them to 2 of my neighbors who also want to have fences installed.

Description of Work: The good neighbor fence between my property and my neighbor's had seen better days. In preparation for selling his property, he wanted to replace the fence and gates into each of our properties. I obtained estimates from 5 fencing people/companies and chose Cuevas based upon price and Angie's List. The project took only 1 day and was completed on the agreed schedule.
