I never received an estimate or a follow up phone call from him.

Overall we were satisfied with the promptness of this company. One thing though, the workers doing the fences didn't dig deep enough hole for the posts, and end up cutting it on top after they put the posts in (to make it look even). If I didnt watch them during the process i wouln't have known this. I tried to communicate with them but no luck since they only speak spanish and i don't. Other than that they did quite a good job.

My 30-year-old fence needed to go, so I looked up fencing companies here on Angie's List. I saw Cuevas on top, read the reports, and said, "Well, call 'em." The estimator came out the next Monday and gave me a very fair estimate. My neighbor had concerns which he hadn't expressed to me before, so I had to have the estimator come out again and this time my neighbor was happy with it. Well, he agreed to it, anyway. The day was set and then arrived. So did they; 2 trucks and five men at 8am. By 12:30pm they were done. Not once did I need to go out to see progress because I could hear the progress by the sound of powered equipment being used without much pause between uses. Originally they estimated the time at a day and a half. They may have been adding cement curing time, but I'm not sure. The fence itself is very well put-together. There are just three things I'm concerned with: 1. The gates did not have the same finish boards at the top so it does not match the top-finished look as the fence. I can get used to this, but the overall effect comes to, "Not quite done." I failed to spot this before the workmen left, so that's my fault. 2. There was quite a lot of dirt removed from under one of the gates, presumably to remove the old gate frame. I can put this dirt back after the cement cures, but right now there is a gap from the bottom of the gate to the ground. 3. There was an end-piece of a cement bag left near a small pile of cement. The ground around it was wet, but there was no water on the cement itself. This was on some bare ground next to a small, growing-from-scratch tree. This could have been quite a bad thing, but as it stands it is really quite easily cleaned. Because of my overall satisfaction with this job, these concerns do not keep me from rating this company an A nor do they keep me from heartily recommending this company.

Prompt, curteous and friendly. Estimate was right in line with other estimates. They showed up on time and started to build fence. Had to build fence taking into account several existing trees. Three of threes reqiured a stop-start gap. I'd gone over the fact that I wanted to make sure that they took care around the trees and left plenty of gap. Posts were drilled immediately next to trees and fence was even nailed to tree in one spot. When I pointed this out to the supervisor the next day he was very apologetic and took care of the issue. They moved the fence posts back away from the trees (although they'd already drilled through lots of roots). A few other minor complaints about details, but all in all - in the end we have a very nice fence. I'd definitely use them again, but I'd watch them around any critical greenery.

I contacted five different fence companies and received various bids. Cuevas was the only company that listened to my needs. I wanted a nice gate with character that matched my European style home. The fence is awesome. They also had good ideas. They recommended decorating with gothic dummy hinges. They worked with me to come up with a lattice privacy screen that I am very happy with. I highly recommend this fantastic company. The crew is great. The carpenter is fantastic.

Based on good reviews I got a quote from Cuevas, which was about in the middle of all quotes received. I visited some of their reference projects, and was very pleased with the craftmanship. IPE hardwood was recommended to me, and I am very happy with the choice. The installer however did not follow all the agreed steps and used older, smaller pieces in the beginning, however Kevin was quick in getting the issues resolved, and the deck turned out very nice.

After a delivery truck broke part of our fence, I called to get Cuevas Lumber and Fence to come out and give us an estimate for repair, which was to be paid for by an insurance company. I also had a few other projects that I asked for them to bid on, so the overall job was not that small. After I called several times to follow up on why they never sent me an estimate, they finally told me they considered my jobs too small. Now, I've wasted a week, and have to start from scratch. If they were going to tell me the jobs were too small, they should have said so from the start at least.

A crew of 6 came out and demolished the old fence and put in 235 feet of red wood fencing which was board on board with a lattice top. They finished the work in 2 days and did a good job. They were professional, punctual and also cleaned up after themselves.

The crew was quick, and did a great job.

Kevin was able to come out right away for the quote, and the work commenced 2 days later. We had discussed and I had chosen arches on the driveway/sideyard gates, but when I got home the driveway gate was cut straight accross and did not look good that way. In addition, the cellar/storm door had a cosmetic defect, quite large, right in the middle of it that would have prevented any option to stain it. I called Kevin and he came out the very next day, and the workers were back the next day to take them down and re-do the job (the sideyard gates were done properly to begin with), and they were beautiful once completed to the original specifications. I cannot say enough about Kevin's professionalism. Even though the workers did not follow the work order, and used defective wood on the one door, he made it right and followed up with me.

They were very prompt and did excellent work. The product that they used didn't allow me to wash off mud from the deck. So it was kind of a problem. They did come out and fix it for free and were really nice about it. It was just a hassle.

I replaced an old fence and chose Cuevas given the good online reviews. While I liked the quality of the fence they built, I was disappointed with how little care they took with the plants. If you have plants bordering the fence, don't count on any care. Other than that, the fence is very well-constructed and they used very nice quality wood.

The crew arrived at 8 AM and finished around 11:30 AM. They installed four steel brackets to hold the fence and gate to the hardscape. Overall it looks very good with attention to alignment and detail. The crew speaks limited English but they are polite and friendly.

The job went very well. The bidding representative was responsive and quick to give us a bid which was not the lowest, but very competitive with the others we received. They gave us three references, of which we visited two. These references were quite satisfied with the work Cuevas had done and we found their work to be good. They started work within a week of signing the contract. The old deck and hot tub were removed in one day. Construction of the posts, beams, joists and deck took another six working days to complete. The two man crew was very efficient, capable and responsive to requests regarding design details. They obviously had previous experience working with IPE, which is a very hard wood. They were very courteous and were on the job shortly after 8 am and worked until shortly before 5. They cleaned up each evening and were very neat. They gave thought to the job, their craftsmanship was excellent. Leo and Enrique were very nice and professional guys. The owner, Fidel Cuevas, stopped by a couple of times after I called to go over some of the design details when the Spanish/English translation with the crew needed clarification. Fidel was also very cooperative and easy to work with. A couple of add-on jobs were also taken care of nicely, quickly and at a reasonable cost. I was pleased that Fidel did a quality control walk-through after the work was completed and made a couple of improvements to items that I hadn't noticed.

They did a great job. They came when the said they were going to. They cleaned up after themselves. They were easy to work with. They workers were polite.

Excellent. There were a couple of things they had to fix concerning post placement that I did not think looked good aesthetically. Cuevas addressed my concerns without incident. The craftsmanship exceeded my expectations. The final product is rock solid and will last a long, long time. I recommend this outfit highly. Piece of advice: The cost of jobs of this scope can induce sticker shock. However, realize the cost of lumber and labor, workman's comp, etc. Two gentlemen worked 8 hour days for 11 days on my project. Very nice and professional guys. Bottom line, after watching these guys work for two weeks and considering the cost of lumber and running a business the cost for my projects was very reasonable. I will use this outfit again when I have other projects I don't want to tackle-which is pretty much everything.

After the storm in Jan. we had to replace some fencing and two side gates. Kevin came out right away and gave us the estimate. He also went around the yard and checked the rest of the fence for any weak areas that may need support. He thought the rest of the fence was okay so gave an estimate for building a new fence, replacing 3 posts and making new gates. The work was completed in one day. The bill was separated between us and our neighbor who agreed to help pay for the between fence. We are very pleased with the quality of work and the look of the new fence and gates. They also hauled all of the old wood away.

Fidel offered a competitive price. He understands and agrees with you on your needs and gives a good estimate. His crew however, is fast, but rough. The usage of jackhammer to break concrete to dig holes caused some cracks in concrete, which they could have prevented by skill sawing concrete border of the hole. They do not follow the city code of post hole depth and size if you are not taking the permit. You must state the details exactly in the contract. Even when we mentioned the post hole depth and size in the contract his crew tried to cut corners avoid digging the holes to required depth - once filled with concrete, you can't tell. You have to monitor their work and perhaps do your own inspection before you fill the holes, if city is not inspecting. Other issues - no flashing used for posts put against the stucco walls. Nailed the posts to the house walls instead of bolting them to the frame. Post spacing was not kept at 8' o.c. consistently.

They were punctual and did a good job. I was satisfied with their work.

We contacted several companies for estimates and most were comparable. Because we were sharing the costs with our neighbor, we let him review the quotes and meet the estimators. The Cuevas crew came on time and had the fence completed by early afternoon. They took away all the old material. They made a change to the original fence to align it better from front to back, and it looks much better. They were careful around my many rosebushes and other plants, though we noticed that one of our drip system lines was not pulled away from the post concrete pour and is now embedded in it; it may not be a problem, but should have been cleared. They also repaired a broken fence gate stop. Time is the true test, but it looks like a good installation.

They did good work. They were on time and the deck is very nice. The fence and the gate is very nice as well. The clean up was annoying because they left a bag of post holes that broke on my parking strip. I called a few times and they never came and cleaned it up, so we cleaned it up ourselves. The price wasn't bad, though.

While I was happy overall with the work this company provided, they did require a little monitoring to get the job done right. There were some minor problems, like a missing washer and two different sized bolts. When I brought this to their attention, it was rectified to my satisfaction. They did offer a very competitive price for my fence and the finished product looks great.

They left the site clean. They were on time and got job done on schedule.

Kevin the estimator arrived on time and outlined my exact request for the work to be done. The work crew arrived on time and began work immediately. They worked the whole day in order to complete the work. The men did a good job of cleaning up all the debris generated from the work.

After tired of waiting to receive a call or e-mail, I called them to check the availability. She was rude and we would never use them for any of our future projects.
