Description of Work: Removed my old spring-style garage door and installed a new roll-up door, with new track and opener. | |Called for appointment, courteous person answered, gave me an appointment on the spot for a date that was only 1-2 days away. President/owner of company came on-time for meeting, inspection, measurement, price quote, etc. FAST and friendly. Signed-off immediately and appointment to install was NEXT business day. Wow! | |On installation day, I got a call asking if they could arrive early to start. I wasn't home but I arranged for them to get access to start. When I did come home they were hard at work, crew of two. | |They finished at a reasonable time (had they started as scheduled, it would have gone longer than originally quoted though), and the finished result is OUTSTANDING. There were a few things that weren't exactly as I might have expected, so less than 100% perfect experience. Here are those details. | |(1) I had received a bid from someone else that told me that they would have to tear out my upper attic storage area to put the tracks. This company said that there was another solution, cost a bit extra, but I wouldn't lose any storage, except for one shelf on the side of my garage and a possible cut of a couple of boards. I was very happy to hear this. But...when the crew arrived, they begged me to remove the upper attic storage at first. I pointed out that I paid extra for the lower track solution and they gave up the begging. But then, they had to cut out significantly more storage from my garage than originally planned. I ended up losing 2 shelves and part of a third one. They also damaged a small piece of my upper storage shelf that is now unusable. None of this was a huge deal, but it wasn't as I would have expected and I may have chosen differently and paid a little less had I known how it would work out. | |(2) The job was to include all disposal of removed materials. But during my inspection I found several pieces of wood and plywood and other items that they had not planned to take away. As I pointed them out to load into the truck, they seemed a little less than friendly about it. | |(3) Related to #2, they had taken down part of my upper storage to give them room for the install, but they didn't put it back up afterwards. I had to point it out, they had to get their ladders back out and re-install. | |(4) They didn't install the keypad entry system that I ordered. It was tested and programmed, but it was left un-mounted. It didn't take me long to do it, but they should have done it. I probably shouldn't have let them leave without getting it done, but they were growing impatient after the upper storage conflict and the haul-away interaction and I didn't want to get them any more frustrated, so I let it go. | |(5) They played pretty loud music the whole time during install. I didn't really mind it and if I had, I would have asked them to turn it down or off. I'm sure it didn't bother my neighbors and it was actually relatively pleasant. I just thought others might want to know in case you are trying to work in your home during install or had small children sleeping. | |Overall, even with what I said above, which is a bit nit-picky, I am VERY happy with the overall experience. From initial phone call to DONE was about 3-4 business days. Great price. Product is high-quality. I would definitely do business with them again and refer them to others. |
