California Construction Center Inc were great. They told us that one of the additions that we wanted was a lot more money than we thought and they did a nice 3D design of our other addition that we were thinking of.

I called California Construction Center after seeing them on the Flip This House show. I checked out their website and credentials and felt they were a good choice for my project needs. They were very organized with scheduling and communication so I felt everything was in good hands. I met with Jonathan who is the owner of the company. He provided me with great designs which helped me visualize exactly what I wanted to do with the remodeling work. A couple days after our appointment we went into an agreement and started the week after. They began with the kitchen and guest bathroom simultaneously. Although it was challenging at times to be without a functioning kitchen in the beginning, I knew it was going to be worth it in the end. Within a couple of weeks the kitchen was gutted, cabinets and flooring were installed, lighting was installed, and the appliances were in place. I am very happy with the new look and feel of the kitchen and have had no problems since. They definitely fulfilled my need for a modern kitchen I can truly be happy with. The bathroom was completed fairly quickly prior to the kitchen and everything was up to the quality standards I expected. The new flooring and tiling work gave it such a better look! I can?t imagine going back to my old kitchen and bathroom after this. Seeing that my kitchen and guest bathroom were completed I was very excited with what was in store for the master bathroom. I was looking forward to replace the old linoleum flooring and outdated fixtures. My new master bathroom included a newly installed Jacuzzi tub, flooring, walls, vanity, and pretty much a full facelift. The whole process of my remodeling project was a lot smoother than what I had first thought. I have heard bad stories about contractors in the past but my experience was the exact opposite. Clear communication and professional service have come together to create a new kitchen and bathrooms I can enjoy and be proud of. Thanks California Construction Center!
Description of Work: They did extensive work on my kitchen and two bathrooms. I had my kitchen completely gutted and redone to modernize and utilize my available space. The guest and master bathrooms were fully renovated to give it a cleaner, more organized, and up to date look.

We met with Jonathan the owner/designer, my wife really liked his style, she is in the interior design buisness too, Jonathan was able to come up me an amazing ideas and he was able to show it to us on 3D, i was amazed and concern at the same time about the cost (i thought he will be the most expensive). when he came the 2nd time with the proposal i was happy to see that he was actually the cheapest of all of the 3 contractors we met before him we renovated the kitchen, master bathroom, guest bath and we change the floors in the living room as well. the crews came on time, the guys were very polite and respectful and after few days of work i realize that i can trust california construction center and the results came even better than we expected me and my wife are going to post the pics of our new kitchen and bathrooms on houzz, we are very happy, Jonathan and Oz gave us a great service, a beatiful home and they finish it all in 4 weeks! I will definitly reccomend them to others

Member. We spent hours to build the 3D design and to match our design to your requests. Clearly, our price was not within your budget and I hope you will find someone that will be able to meet you requests and budget but it was surprising to get such a bad review for the effort that we invested in our few meeting with you. Good luck with your project. Best Oz

They really did not want to do the refacing, they wanted to do the complete kitchen so the price that they gave us for the refacing should instead be about a thousand dollars cheaper than rebuilding the whole kitchen, they tried to push us into the whole kitchen rebuild. We got kind of that impression of a hard sell on that and therefore did not use them. I do not trust them. I would not recommend them.

work performed ....remove and replace/upgrade 8 Windows......remove tank style water heater with tankless water heater.....remove window A/C unit installed thru the wall....patch and repair A/C unit hole....repair and patch exterior stucco for tex cote....full home tex cote
Description of Work: Great Experience... Johnathan came to meet me for our original review and estimate...... we had several project items we wanted done..... remove and replace 8 windows from old 1950's metal casement to modern slider windows.... remove tank style water heater and replace with a tankless water heater.... remove old window A/C unit which was mounted thru the wall.... repair the hole in the wall after window unit is removed..... make external stucco repair and prepare for Texture coat.... repair old pitted and damaged finish and areas to prepare for Texture coat..... we considered using several contractors.....one for the water heater, one for the A/C wall removal and repair.....and one for Texture coat....and one for windows...... we took bids from contractors for the windows.....and then I called California construction to get a bid from them.....I mentioned all the things I wanted to do....and Johnathan indicated that his company could handle all the items required......I felt this would be the best course of action....as I was not sure which to do first....Windows???....Tex cote???? etc..... Johnathan indicated that they would coordinate the jobs in the order to ensure the best outcome at completion..... we sat down after he reviewed the home.....and gave me three separate bids.....for the Windows...tankless water heater.....and removal of A/C, stucco repair and tex cote...... Johathan also indicated that he would allow me to purchase the windows, and tankless water heater from outside vendors if I chose.....as he was not marking up equipment or materials....and I could ensure the best equipment price by shopping around..... his bid was for labor. install and application.....Johnathan indicated his window tech and plumber would measure and survey the job...and make a recommendation as to the size of water heater to obtain....and supply measurements on the windows needed.... I was able to find my best price on the Rennai Tankless Waterheater I wanted.....and Milgard windows the price for removal and install of 8 windows........the total cost to me for labor and window purchase was approx 70 % of the bid I received from Home Depot for the same job..... Johnathan indicated the order of work to be done....and estimated a 2 week total job time as the rains between Xmas and New years may cause a delay...... work was started.....his technicians cleaned up after each day....and were very tidy.....and friendly.....each day the techs would arrive...and wait outside for us to put our maniac dogs in the garage so they could start work....they were always friendly and I would recommend their service to all...... the color my wife wanted for the texture coat was of course not a standard color option....so Johnathan took paint chip samples my wife pulled at a local paint store....and had the tex cote color matched to meet our needs.... work was completed in a timely fashion.....and MOST IMPORTANTLY....I was clear with Johnathan that the last part of the job (the windows) had to be completed by 1/4/2013....as we had an appraiser coming in for our refi in progress and we could not have unfinished work.....the windows were started on Saturday .....and were to be completed....however a rain storm burst caused the men to suspend work......Sunday morning was forecasted to be clear of rain.....Johnathan called me Saturday afternoon....and asked if they could come on Sunday to complete the work.....yes Sunday....I thought that was very cool....as we needed the work completed....and other contractors we have used in the past did not work on Sunday ! all in all ......good price.....good service.....good followup.....I not only wold use them again.....but I have recommended them to my sister....who is a local real estate agent.....for use on her clients..... lastly.....my wife enjoys the unlimited hot water our tankless water heater provides......

They requested 10% down for the deposit, we paid that and signed a contract with them to have the work done. They did no work and didn't pay us back out deposit. They wasted our time more than once. You can't get ahold of them, when you call it says their voicemail is full. Twice they came out to see my house in California, wasted our time and took our money. They finally asked us why they should come work for us at the price we paid when they could go make more money elsewhere. I called them and asked for my money back and he text me back to tell me that my check would be in the mail that following Monday and I still haven't gotten it. They are very kind in the beginning, but that is not who they actually are.

Response from California Construction Center
Dear Member California Construction Center is a construction service provider and we do the best possible to make the remodeling process as easy and painless as it can get. In some cases duo to bad communication with homeowners or issues that arise even prior to the beginning of construction (which hardly ever happens), we are keeping the right to cancel the service at no cost and refund the full amount of the down payment. After verifying all the details provided by you I would like to apologies for the time it took to reimburse your down payment. Due to past experience, checks given by home owner needs to be cleared first by the bank before a new check is being issued. This takes about 2 weeks. The check was sent to you prior the date of posting the above review! Last, as you mentioned in the above review, No Work was ever Preformed by our company in your premises! Best regards and happy New Year. Oz.

Very well. I had a very pleasant experience with California Construction Center over the remodeling job they did on my master bathroom.
Description of Work: I have a master bathroom with old style white tiles covered walk in shower walls and around the bathtub. I was looking for a contractor that can replaced the old tiles with bigger pieces tiles or granite, add one access lighting in the shower room, move the old vanity, and put a new vanity in. I needed it to be done in one week. I found California Construction Center at Angie's list. I called up and talked to a lady who picked up the phone and I also talked with Oz, the owner of the company. Both of them were very polite, professional, and pleasant. Oz gave me several options on my project over the phone. It caught my attention when he mentioned Green Remodeling. My husband and I met Oz in our home the following day. He explained the Green Remodeling in details to us. He spent time with us trying to know what we like then made suggestions on the materials and colors of the tiles. We trusted Oz 100% after talking to him. We were sold on the idea of no demolishing with minimum dust, no replumming, and finishing the job in one week. Edgar and Oscar were the two workers that Oz sent to do our project. Both of them were very friendly, polite, professional, honest, smart and hard working. They came in between 8:00 to 8:30 every morning started on 11/12/2012. They finished it on 11/19/2012. They always clean after themselves after finish working at the end of the day. They really did a great job. Oz came in checking on this project twice during the week. He also communicated with me frequently telling about what will be done the following day. He arranged the trash to be picked up the following morning after the job was done. In the evening of 11/19/2012, I noticed a little crack on the tile at right corner of the small window in the shower room under the light. I contacted Oz. He responded right away and apologized for what happened (he explained to us such things could happen after the installation when we met the first time). He gave me two options. The first option was to clean it up as much as possible from the grout then seal it so that it may not appear as much. Option 2 was to order a new slab (not enough left over) and install it instead of the slab they already installed. The only issue is that if he will place an order tomorrow, it will arrive only after the holiday. I chose the first option. Oz sent Edgar and Oscar the following day. They came in on time as usual and they really did a great job fixing it. It's barely noticeable. Both of them were telling me that if we don't like it after a while they'll figure out a way to fix it the way we like. I came from Japan where the quality of customer service is really good with high standard in every field. I have to say that Oz's team really impressed me with the best customer service I have got in eleven years since I came to the USA. I highly recommend Oz's company to my friends. We're going to use them to do two more projects in near future.

Fully renovating a newly bought house can be quite stressful, but we would not have been able to do it without Oz, Jonathan, and their whole team at California Construction Center. I was impressed with them from the very start. We had explained to them early on what we wanted, what our budget was, and what was important to us. Oz and Jonathan listened to us, worked with us, and were true to their word. The quality of their work is top notch. Jonathan's design ability and attention to detail is excellent. We can't believe we have a home that I used to read about in magazines! As a physician, my schedule can be unpredictable, and I don't have a lot of free time. Jonathan and Oz always worked around my schedule to have our meetings about progress with the renovation and details that needed to be discussed. There was a time when Oz sat through 2 hours of LA traffic just to meet with me! In addition, I would text and email them both. I always received prompt responses. Professionalism, expertise, and honesty. That is what I received from California Construction Center. We are extremely pleased with our experience and would recommend them without hesitation.

I spoke to California Construction a few days ago and we set up an initial meeting for 9/7 at 11:00 a.m. at my home. The person on the phone might have said they will call to confirm. However, what they should have said is "WE WILL CALL YOU THE DAY OF THE APPOINTMENT. IF WE DON'T HEAR FROM YOU TO ACTUALLY SAY YES YOU WILL BE THERE, WE'LL BLOW OFF THE APPOINTMENT. AND WHEN WE DO CALL, WE WON'T LEAVE A MESSAGE SO YOU KNOW HOW IMPORTANT IT IS TO CALL US BACK. YOU BETTER WAIT BY THE PHONE". Fast forward to today (the day of the meeting), apparently they called sometime this morning. I do have a few missed calls. None from the numbers listed on Angie's list. I have no messages, and I have no reason to think the meeting has been cancelled. I arrange to leave work and drive over to my house. I wait for 30 minutes. I finally call California Construction, and they tell me they are not coming. WHAT???!! No message. No actual conversation withe me. They just blew off the meeting. They may do a wonderful job with their construction. They may be the best in their field. However, they need to work at basic customer service. I realize their time is valuable, and they don't want to be stood up at meetings As a business, I would err on the side of caution. If I don't actually get a hold of a customer, I would assume the meeting is still on. I can't imagine the nightmare I the would ensue if I actually used them. How much time I would lose taking of from work for meetings they never show up for!!!

California Construction Center first removed our old hammock structure, and did a wonderful job of replacing it with a new one. It was constructed exactly to our specifications, and it is extremely well built. I appreciated that every morning, either Oz or Roy (the two owners) stopped by to check the job's progress and to provide instruction to the workers. The workers also cleaned up the work area nicely every day. We had a total of four workers completing the job (demo, concrete, carpentry, and paint). Each was very friendly, professional, and careful, easy to communicate with, and a pleasure to have working for us. All went very smoothly.

First of all i'd like to Thank Ozzy , Johnathan, Izzy and Elli as well as other team members of California construction company for being very patient with us and turning our house into "OUR DREAM HOME" Before we started our project we met / got estimates from 7-8 other companies. After meeting Izzy first time and sharing exciting ideas about the house we felt comfortable and made an appointment for the second meeting, This time Johnathan was there with 3D Designs of our house and it was so exciting to see our house on the computer with New 3d Design. After a lot of consideration we made our decision goin ahead with California Construction company and everything got started. Along the route we had few bumps with the house but Ozzy's experience were on our side, we were able to solve problems really fast and kept on running to the finish line. I'm also really impressed with Johnathan's design ideas, we pretty much followed his design recommendations and extremely happy with what we have now. As of this week , our house is done, We are very happy to see we got what we really wanted and dream of. I strongly recommend California construction.

We had contracted with another contractor to complete a second story addition who abandoned our project unfinished and with most of what had been done needing major correction or needing to be completely redone. After original contractor disappeared the rains came and all the problems became painfully clear. I had shared with a friend of mine what was going on, she called Oz who she had previously worked with and after hearing what happened to us THEY CALLED US. They came to look at our place, the work that had been completed and what had to be redone. We were months away from delivering our first child. As they were potentially taking on the work of others, they could have really taken advantage of our situation knowing that we were in a very compromised and vulnerable position, an unfinished home that had water damage from faulty construction resulting from previous contractor and a time crunch with a baby on the way.Oz and Jonathan came to see us, spent hours with us going over the house from head to toe. When they left we had the utmost confidence that they were the right guys we just were concerned that we couldn't afford them. After all, every other contractor we brought in that we were confident could do the work tried to take advantage of us and our situation. Thankfully they are not out to take advantage of anyone, instead they really wanted to help us and for that we will always be eternally grateful. Not only were they professional but they were also good for their word, from showing up on time, to doing what they committed to and actually more. As there are many unknowns when taking on the work of others there were unforeseen changes that needed to be made but at no point did we every feel we were being taken advantage of, instead, Oz was a consultant letting us understand the challenge or problem that existed, detailing the possible consequences of not correcting and all the options from "bandaiding" to complete correction. He was aware how much we were already in for, knew we were in a crunch and never took advantage. There were times he actually took on more than he quoted and we agreed to pay for because he wanted to make sure it just got done correctly. WOW! In reading a previous review I saw that someone had mentioned that there were concerns about being taken advantage of when it came to mold removal. Our previous contractor knocked down a wall that was to join the existing house to the staircase leading to the extension and we saw black mold (was there when we bought the house a year earlier) but because he didn't abate correctly, just tore it out, hacking through it, he sent spores airborne. Coupled with leaks leak he (previous contractor) created we were concerned about the risk of bringing a baby home to the house if more mold had set into the walls. We had no choice but to get mold testing done based on what was done previously before Oz came to see us. Oz encouraged us to get someone in to do the testing which we did. The test done by an independent lab indicated we had toxic mold in a few places (some that existed in the original home we bought, other areas where spores had settled from incorrect abatement by previous contractor and where he did not waterproof). We had the room tented and all mold abated. I can understand why the other reviewer my think it was a racket, there are lots of frauds out there looking to take advantage. That said, Oz and CCC could have taken advantage of us a lot earlier on and the total cost incurred to do the testing and reconstruction of walls was minimal considering the rest of the scope and what he had done for us. I truly believe they had our interests at heart as well as that of their workers as he did not want to risk the health of his employees, mold can just be downright dangerous! What he did in insuring we did the testing, could have possibly been the most valuable thing he did for us as we were able to bring our child into a mold free home, eliminating risk of health problems, had we not proceeded with is recommendation the result to our child could have been tragic. All projects are wrought with challenges and construction is not easy. I was pregnant, stressed and concerned about costs as we did have a baby on the way and not to mention we had just been royally burnt by a previous contractor so I was a bit wary. Often it was I that acted a bit irrationally losing sight of what was begin done for us. I was frustrated at times, feeling it was not being done quick enough, feeling at times that I had to be more involved than I had wanted to be. But in looking back at all of it, that was my issue. They truly delivered a product that they could have charges a heck of a lot more for, they could have take advantage after we signed when it came to change orders, instead they did whatever they could to help us and it was I that needed to work with them recognizing what they did for us. Last piece of detail, 4 days before all work was complete, 3 weeks before my due date, on the complete opposite side of the house, the side that had no work done, there was a major issue. We came downstairs on a Sunday night during a major storm, the skylights gave out and flooded the ceiling. It was 830 pm we called Oz frantic literally not knowing what to do. He advised us to go to Home depot to buy tarps, he met us back at the house at 930 pm ON A SUNDAY NIGHT and helped my husband cover the roof. Can you believe the DUMB LUCK! Can you believe Oz came to the house at 930 pm on a Sunday night in a massive storm to get on the roof with my husband? Incredible. Not only that but he assured me that I would NOT be going from the hospital to a hotel with my newborn. He said they will work day and night if they have to to get the house baby ready. AND HE DID, HE GOT IT DONE My husband and I will be forever grateful, we believe in accountability, integrity and professionalism and these guys are it. We have another project coming up and CCC will always have our business should they want the job. Good luck with your project and know that you are choosing a great company!
Description of Work: We had hired another contractor to complete a second story addition on our home. After the original contractor abandoned the project 90% the way complete, we had found many issues with the work that had been completed. California Construction made the following CORRECTIONS to the second story originally complete by previous contractor: Staircase to second floor needed major correction from step height-risers- to leveling floor at landing and to finish. Master bath tile needed to be pulled as tile was originally installed directly onto concrete so sub floor needed to be built- tub was framed completely wrong and collapsing so needed to be redone, toilets needed re-positioning as was not originally installed to code. Roofing needed major re-correction due to faulty installation/ leaks, needed to be extended for correct drainage, plumbing to second story had to be relocated into roof as was originally ran externally, dormers over the attic required installation as roof was not complete to code Installed guttering, waterproofed all windows 2 balconies needed to be completely re-sloped, hot mopped and retiled, door to balcony needed to be completely relocated in order to make room for door to bedroom. Bifold doors on second balcony needed to be re-installed because no flashing was ever installed prior to door installation. Support pillars on first story supporting second required re-framing and re-stucco Master closet needed to be finished Re-waterproofed the area in the foundation where staircase met the concrete pad. Fireplace installation needed the tiling redone as it was falling off and gas line and gas shut off needed adjusting. Windows and door installations needed to be corrected stucco needed to be removed down and re-stucco to insure proper waterproofing

California Construction Center did a complete bathroom/laundry room remodel for us. Essentially they took a 6' by 19' combination bathroom/laundry room (which was an eyesore and a mold problem) and created two separate spaces with separate access to each. In the process, everything was upgraded and all the original problems (mostly due to the original contractors lack of foresight) were solved. This area of our home went from an embarrassment to a showpiece. Need I say more?

Needless to say, this was a large project for us, but having worked with Jonathon and Oz previously (on a complete bathroom remodel) we were confident of their capability and work ethic to get the job done properly. Jonathan and Oz have a very interesting way of working. Jonathan is the design half of the business, working with myself and my wife for many hours to get the design aesthetically and functionally correct before any work is done. At this point, Oz, who is the engineering and construction half of the business, picks up the ball and oversees the project thru completion. Also, unlike many contractors, who put allowances in a proposal such as this one, for materials such as paint, flooring, or countertops, California Construction does not. Their proposal is based solely on the work they will perform. The effect of this is to leave you completely free to choose the materials you want, while eliminating the tendency of many contractors to use the cheapest materials possible in order to maximize their profit. An additional plus of this way of working, is that it made it much easier for my wife and myself to budget the entire project. We were not disappointed. From the demolition forward, all work was performed in a timely and professional manner. Along the way, we discovered an assortment of problems with the home (from the original builder) that needed fixing in order to properly complete the project. These were all dealt with by Oz and his construction team in a very professional manner. Never were there any charges for these types of minor fixes, or for that matter for any other small changes (the types of things another contractor would charge for in "change order") in the original plans. At the end of it all, we have a stunning new kitchen, dining room, and living room, and are planning to use them once again to remodel our fireplace.

I called California Construction Center to give me a better idea regarding what I could expect from this kind of project. Given the fact that I have had worked with them previously, I felt comfortable going forward with it once my finances were in order to make further renovations. I scheduled an appointment with Jonathan (the owner) to look at the property and give me ideas regarding styles and design. He made it easier for me to see the options available and was very straightforward with what this project would entail. A week or so later the work began and I met with Jonathan and Eli the field manager. They became the people I went to for specifics and details of the work being done. They walked through the house to confirm each stage of what was to be done and how they would coordinate their workers to get the job done effectively. I was pleasantly surprised to see at times the renovations being worked on simultaneously. This displayed the resourcefulness of the company and I felt at ease knowing that everything would be completed on schedule. The work progressed forward and in less than two weeks I began seeing the progress in my home transformation. A good amount of my home was already painted, my new windows were installed, and my driveway was repaved. About a week later the workers completed the finishing touches and all the upgrades to my home were done. Everything came out as planned and I am very satisfied with the results. These guys know the construction field inside and out, it?s clear they received their reputation through the quality work that they do.
Description of Work: My new renovation project included having my home exterior repainted with texcote, windows around the house replaced with new more modern windows, and having my driveway repaved. I needed higher quality paint that would last and wanted to change the color of the exterior. Along with the new paint job, new windows completed the look I was really going for. I had my driveway redone due to cracks and breaks that were very unsightly. The work was completed within the agreed time and the results were just what I needed.

My roof was leaking and paint was peeling from the ceiling in one of the bedrooms so I called California Construction Center. They had good reviews, they were close by, and they did more than just roofing. Roy came by and gave me a quote for the new roof, new ceiling in the bedroom and some other small things and said it would take three weeks. It seemed reasonable so I gave him a deposit check and they were to start the following Monday, March 26. Monday after work I got home and there was a dumpster in my driveway and about a third of the roof was gone. So far so good. Tuesday I got home from work and nothing had changed. I called Roy that evening to ask what was up but he didn't return my call. So I called the office Wednesday morning and found out that they hadn't tested for asbestos in the shingles before they started. Someone from the city had come by the worksite looking for the asbestos certificate, and since there wasn't one, they shut down the site until California Construction Center could provide a certificate. These guys are supposed to be professionals who have done hundreds of roofs and THEY DIDN'T KNOW THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO TEST FOR ASBESTOS ? ? ? There was all kinds of debris all over my front yard and if there had been asbestos in those shingles, I would have been exposed and so would my neighbors and the workers on the roof and the dude who was going thru the dumpster looking for metal. Now I have to call these guys every day and ask have they gotten results? When will they start? This is when I found out that Roy will say anything to get you off the phone. Every time I asked Roy a question, he gave an answer, and it was always wrong. Me, "When will they start up again?" Roy, "They're at your house right now." Get home after work and saw that nothing has changed. After they completed the roof, they started on the bedroom. The put the new drywall on the ceiling and needed to cut a hole for the vent. So someone took a thick, black magic marker and drew a big square in the general area of the vent and wrote the word "VENT" outside of the square. I've had the guys back a bunch of times to fix stuff they thought was done and every time I asked them to paint over that area but I can still see the word "Vent" even after eight coats of paint. When they got to the kitchen I noticed a couple of other things that might have been nice to fix while they were at it so I asked for a quote to hook the over-the-stove microwave to the old vent that was nearby. It took more than two weeks just to get that quote and by then, the job was already well into it's fifth week. I told them not to bother because I was tired of all the dust. Then Roy (the liar) calls me and says he's going to start on the microwave (even though I had told him not to). I told him not to send anyone else to my house until we spoke face to face. I told him I didn't want to start anything new, and I wanted to show him the lack of progress. He said, "Yes, of course," and then sent people the next day. I tried for three days to schedule an appointment with Roy and when we finally agreed to a time, he didn't show up and didn't even call. I called his cell two or three times and then called his office They sent someone else the next day. Eli came and we spoke and he seemed genuinely concerned that this three week job was beginning its seventh week. We looked at what needed to be completed and he said he could have it done in about a week. I had some questions about the money that Eli couldn't answer so we scheduled a meeting for a few days later with Roy to go over everything and finish things up. I told him to bring a ladder so we can look at the roof. I didn't want to sign off on it without having seen it. Then Roy finally called me, more than a week after he just plain skipped our previous meeting. He was calling to confirm our meeting that evening and I reminded him that i wanted to see the roof and that they should bring a ladder. He said "Oh, let me call you back because I'm not sure I can get a ladder there." Of course he never called and he and Eli just showed up. Here's where it get surreal. Eli got there first and he didn't bring a ladder. I asked him about it because I knew that Roy's car was too small. He suggested that we look to see if someone else dropped one off and someone had. He asked, "Roy never called you?" and I said "no." He just shook his head and said, "well let's just get started." We got up on the roof and of course there was a couple of things that needed attention. We got down and Roy was there. We went into the bonus room where they had done some paneling and I was speaking with Eli about it and Roy runs over to my drum set that I keep there and just sits down without asking and starts banging away. Eli looked at him and said, "What are you doing?" so he got up and stepped away. Then we looked in my attic because they had put a bit of insulation in there and I didn't want to sign off till we all agreed it was ok. Eli was on the ladder looking into the attic and Roy comes and asks if he can smoke. He knows I smoke in my house and I said ok. So he goes to my coffee table and gets my cigarettes and starts smoking. Eli comes down off the ladder and again asks Roy, "What are you doing?" I took them to the garage and showed them all the trash that still needed to be taken so Eli starts taking it outside and asks Roy to help him. Roy put his cigarette out in one of my candle holders in the back yard. This guy Roy is like a 14-year-old child who's parents are on vacation. Roy came back a week later for the final payment. It took eight weeks to do a three week job. He told me the reason he didn't show up or call that night when we had an appointment was because he was in jail. Apparently, he had been pulled over and he didn't have the right paperwork for his new mercedes. Do they really put you in jail for that? I asked him if they were going to start testing shingles for asbestos now that they knew. Roy said no, they wouldn't This house still needs new windows, new stucco, and a new bathroom. I will not be calling California Construction Center for any of that work.

I found California Construction Center on the internet and they were one of the companies I contacted when looking for a reputable contractor. Out of the three companies I contacted, they had a very reasonable price and showed the most knowledge and professionalism during their consultation. I met with Jonathan (one of the owners) for the consultation and once more after I received the estimate and went through the details of my budget. He was very helpful in picturing the design and detail of my project and I felt very comfortable moving forward with it. With 3D designs of my kitchen and bathroom I was able to imagine how it would all turn out and I was definitely ready to go from there and start upgrading. After a couple meetings we came to an agreement for the full project and it was time to get the show on the road. The construction started the next week as planned and it was what I expected. The kitchen and bathroom were demolished to make room for the new installments and remodeling work. This was my first remodeling project and I felt very anxious seeing the changes made to my home. I knew that they would pull through as I was aware of the scale of work that this company has performed and their well known reputation. There were some minor speed bumps along the way but they were only minor inconveniences when looking at the big picture. Overall the construction work went fairly well, up to quality standards, and was completed on schedule. All the materials for the project was exactly as specified and I couldn't be happier. The construction workers were courteous of the details I stressed and helped me understand the progress of each step of my kitchen and bathroom remodeling. My concerns were addressed and I am very happy with how everything turned out. Professional work at an affordable price, I would definitely recommend this company for those looking for a job well done.
Description of Work: California Construction Center did a fantastic job remodeling my kitchen and master bathroom. The new additions to the kitchen included tile flooring, granite countertops, new cabinets, and a couple upgrades here and there. The bathroom on the other hand was completely redone and modernized to better suit the needs of my family’s style and need. They worked on both projects simultaneously and renovated my home from the start of tearing down old structures to the finishing touches.

A couple months after I had a home improvement project completed, I had obtained the resources and decided that my kitchen also needed work. Although not as large scale of a project as my previous addition, the kitchen was definitely overdue for a facelift. I scheduled an appointment with Jonathan (the owner) to discuss the available options and scope of work for the kitchen. Jonathan presented me with a 3D design of my kitchen and we were able to interchange different materials and styles to find the look I needed. With the help of a variety of design tools and consultations, I was able to commit and move forward with my kitchen renovation. I signed with the company and felt comfortable and even excited about the work that was to come. The work began on the agreed date and I met with Eli the field supervisor to discuss the stages of work to be done. I was not too thrilled about having to clean out my kitchen but after I finished that I knew that I had something to look forward to. I knew many of the workers who came to work on my kitchen and all were professional and provided quality work on each aspect of my kitchen. Each step of my kitchen renovation was detailed and they followed through the entire process from the demolition to the finishing touches. Although remodeling a part of your home may have some challenges the end results are always worth it. The company made it clear to me that they are capable of doing extraordinary work and I have seen that from my addition and newly remodeled kitchen. I would definitely recommend them. They have shown to be a truly reputable construction company.
Description of Work: Having previously worked with California Construction on a room addition, I thought I would play it safe and go with the same contractor for renovating my kitchen. In the kitchen I decided to add granite countertops, tile flooring, custom made cabinets, recessed lighting, and other minor upgrades. The results were just as amazing as the first project if not more since it is a space that my entire family has enjoyed. I am a very satisfied customer of California Construction Center and stand by the work that they do.

I called California Construction Center first after I decided that I wanted to go forward with my room addition plans. This was my second project working with them after I had my kitchen and bathrooms redone. I was able to meet with the owner Jonathan once again to discuss my plans for an addition and have him help guide me through the process with his design knowledge. My anxiety to build the room addition was very high however at the same time I felt hesitant to go through more construction on my home. We agreed on a start date for the addition and the work started promptly with no delay. They started by tearing down a large portion from the side of the wall in order to make the connection to the new room that would be added. This was the worst part for me to watch but I knew the new and improved home was on its way. This home improvement project was much easier to handle for us due to the fact that the area being worked on was not actually part of the house yet. The company played their part with scheduling work hours around our schedule and getting steps of the project completed in a reasonable timeframe of ten weeks. In the end I am very happy with the results. They have done another great job on my home with the new room addition. It?s difficult to tell the difference from where my house stops and where the addition begins. I wanted to ensure that the room addition would blend into the home as just another room and they were successful in doing so. The additional space will be used as another bedroom for the home and I am glad we can finally take advantage of the previously unused space. The standards of California Construction Center are in line with mine and I love the work that they do. Their workers are professional, friendly, and considerate to your needs. I have yet to have any issues with the home improvement projects California Construction Center has provided me with.
Description of Work: I am highly satisfied with the work that California Construction Center previously performed on my home and had the chance to work with them again. Their work ethic and professionalism has shown to be of the best in the business that I have seen. I added a new 300 square foot addition to the side of my home on the first floor to make room for a growing family. I felt it was a necessary project for my home as moving was not an option for us.

The overall room addition process with them was smooth and they ensured that everything was right for my project and fit my needs. I expected an end result and they delivered it to me accordingly. All the construction work flowed on schedule and fortunately I did not experience any unpleasant problems or complications. The field supervisor Eli helped me understand the steps throughout the room addition and kept me at ease. I have heard horror stories about construction companies not meeting time and quality deadlines, but I am more than satisfied with the work that California Construction Center provided. I started searching for a reputable company online and found California Construction Center and gave them a call. They scheduled an appointment to see my home and gave me a fair estimate for my room addition, which was also within my budget. I met with a designer who was also the owner named Jonathan. He was very professional and personable throughout the consultation. He showed us on a 3D model how our new home will look like, my wife was amazed. Their price was very reasonable and given their credentials, I had a feeling that they were the best choice for a construction company. After the agreement was made and the work began, I had mixed feelings. The hardest part was seeing my home being demolished in different areas, but I knew it had to be done in order for them to build the room addition. I was sure that one way or another my home was going to be changed for the better. The field supervisor Eli made sure that everything was on schedule and that my home would be better than ever. Not only that, the workers communicated with me well and helped me understand what was going on at each particular point of the project I asked about. In the end the addition was very well built and it perfectly blends into the rest of my home giving it a much needed size increase. California Construction Center went above and beyond my expectations, for that I highly recommend them!
Description of Work: California Construction Center built a room addition by extending my home through the backyard. They started with framing the addition which was approximately 500 square feet and gave me a good visual of my new larger home. They then moved on to installing windows to ensure that they matched the style of the rest of the home. Next they incorporated hardwood flooring that fit the purpose of the addition which was to extend the living room area. Lastly, they added the finishing touches of paint and made sure everything was up to the right standards for my home.

We interviewed four other contractors, and we were impressed with Oz and Jonathan because we were instantly drawn to their very friendly personality. We are designers, and we needed someone who would be open to design input and suggestions, and they were very accommodating to our design ideas, and any suggestions that we had. They were willing and ready to explore creative solutions to any challenges that came up. They replied to our emails in a timely manner, and they always showed up for our onsite meetings with a pleasant ?can do? attitude. Their staff was very friendly and courteous. If I were to make one suggestion is that they could be more tenacious with their ?onsite project management/foreman? team. We lived in the home during the entire remodeling process, and participated in all aspects of the process. We are artist and designers who have specific ideas as to what we wanted and how we think it should be accomplished. When we feel frustrated for any reason, OZ and Jonathan were by our side at a moment's notice to explain the process and resolve our concerns. Thank you Jonathan and OZ??We learned a lot, and we absolutely love our new kitchen!
Description of Work: We needed to remodel our Kitchen & Dining Rooms and remove part of a wall between the Kitchen and the Living Room to create an open concept floor plan. The scope of work involved: Demo peninsula between Kitchen and Dining room, demo portions of load-bearing brick wall between Kitchen and Living Room. Cut holes in floors in three different locations to install three concrete footings. Installed structural columns into the concrete footings to support the header beam. Installed 6” x 14” structural header beam to accomplish the “open concept” floor plan between the Kitchen & Living Room. Removed old window that was located over the sink, enlarged the opening over the sink and reframe to accommodate large garden window. Relocated the garden window and install over the kitchen sink. Installed framing, installed insulation and stucco over the area where garden window was located. Installed new oversize 30” wide x 10” deep stainless steel sink. Installed new sub-floor. Installed custom designed floor medallions in entryway. Installed ceramic floor tiles in hallway, kitchen and dining room. Lowered the fireplace hearth in dining room to be flush with floor, and installed custom granite inset. Relocated AC vents, relocated gas line from Peninsula to the new custom Island. Installed granite counter tops. Installed custom Island with granite counter tops. Installed 48” Island Range Hood. Installed 48” commercial grade gas stove with 6-burners and grill. Designed and installed custom pantry. Designed and installed custom 48” upper cabinets. Designed and installed deep over-sized (36” wide) lower drawers with full extension and easy closing. Installed decorative back splash. Installed recessed lights. Installed custom chandelier in dining room. Installed new electrical outlets throughout the kitchen and dining room. Installed new “dimmable” lighting system. Installed under cabinet lights. Installed all other appliances such as: Refrigerator, Microwave Oven, Dishwasher and Garbage Disposer. My absolute favorite: Designed and installed “handy dandy” spice rack next to the stove. YEAH!

My experience with California Construction Center was more pleasant than I would have imagined. This was the first time I decided to remodel my home which made me nervous, but California Construction Center made it easier. The kitchen remodeling was the most extensive of the three projects and it took a lot of patience but the end result was ideal for my home. The bathroom renovations were quite straightforward and they both turned out perfectly for my needs. I found California Construction Center online and they had an array of credentials that earned my trust and helped me decide to go through with the home improvement. I called to schedule an appointment to meet with them and they were very friendly and professional. I received a free estimate and consultation with one of the owners named Jonathan. He provided a 3D design rendering that helped me visualize how my new kitchen and bathroom projects would look like. I made my budget clear to them and they worked with it accordingly. They made sure that I understood the price and that there were no hidden costs which I greatly appreciated. I communicated effectively with the workers and the field supervisor Eli who made sure everything fell into place with the work and how I wanted everything done. I definitely recommend themfor any type remodeling work. They did an excellent job on my home which I can now enjoy.
Description of Work: California Construction Center completely remodeled my kitchen and upgraded two of my bathrooms. They started with a new design layout for my kitchen that included custom built wooden cabinets, granite counter tops, marble flooring, recessed lighting, and much more. They also worked on two small bathrooms by adding new toilets, vanities, tile flooring, painting, improved lighting, and general renovations.

We'd put off remodeling our kitchen for years because I'd seen too many contractor disasters not to be afraid of the process. With CCCI, I needn't have worried; our experience was virtually worry-free. This company is incredibly responsive; every time we had the slightest question, they were available to talk with us either on the spot or within the hour by phone. My wife and I always felt we were being kept in the loop at all times. The quality of the work is excellent. We've had a month to work with our new kitchen, and we've not found major problems with any of the workmanship. The room is a dream to cook in, and CCCI's design changes have solved some nagging problems we had with our old kitchen. We had very little pantry space in the old kitchen, and they suggested ways of expanding our pantry space that, as a side bonus, also gave us additional counter space by using the space in the kitchen more intelligently. They also suggested replacing our hood/cabinet unit with a free-standing range hood to open up the room to the living area. This has succeeded wonderfully. They used best practices throughout the job, cleaning up at the end of the day and screening the job from the rest of the house to ameliorate the dust. No job of this size is without a minor problem or two. When problems arose during the job (a slightly mis-measured cabinet door, a scored floorboard, a worker on the phone while measuring) CCCI was always ready to discuss the problem and suggest multiple solutions. CCCI's responsiveness to our concerns was quick and went a long way toward fixing these issues. Despite those minor issues, we've been thrilled with our new kitchen. It's lovely to look at, very well put-together and easy to work with. Our experience with CCCI was very positive; we'd definitely use them again.
Description of Work: This was a complete kitchen remodel. CCCI recommended many design changes to address our specific needs. They saw solutions that we had not considered, including adding countertop space while not sacrificing pantry space. They demolished our kitchen down to the drywall and sub-floor, and built it back up. They replaced old vinyl flooring with new hardwood hickory floor. They replaced old oak cabinets with new maple cabinets. They installed a new stove, new oven, new stone countertop, and new tile backsplash. They repainted the walls and rewired some electrical outlets. They installed new plumbing pipe needed for our new sink. They replaced our old tube fluorescent ballasts with modern compact fluorescent bulbs.
