Had a keypad malfunction. Made a call to report the malfunction and Liz was able to put me in touch with Mary who scheduled a technician to come over to service the malfunction within a reasonable amount of time. The office was quick, courteous to provide the needed support and get me up and running quickly.

The two installers were on time and did a great job installing the alarm system, They were courteous and helpful during the install. They then provided the instructions and we are all setup. 3/18/16 - Had a keypad go bad. Mary, Liz and Fino were quick and courteous in providing technical support and got me back up and running again.

One of the owners (who is a family head in this family run business) was rude on several occasions and insulting and not worth dealing with. I used this company for years in spite of equipment malfunctions (that they tried to charge us to repair) because of the otherwise excellent son who does a very solid job on their installs and he seemed to know his field well, was punctual, mostly cleaned up and also seemed honest. Though they are not insured, I didn't worry when in my home. When my system malfunctioned yet again, I asked for them to come for repair yet no one was available for 3 weeks due to vacation, they said. We went without functioning service twice and they still demanded payment though the system was not operating. They have no BBB rating and can not take online or auto payment through their own systems. Others in the office are aware of that owner's attitude and customer treatment. Look elsewhere!

He did a good job and we were happy with them.

After our home was burglarized, we were approached by two different ADT sales teams. The locksmith that we used recommended that we also contact Borges Security, a small local company. We spoke to Fino about their service and decided to go with them. It is a family business and the service techs are employees and well trained by Fino. As they were working on the installation, I was home and had opportunity to observe how well they worked together. Chris explaned what they were doing as the installation was taking place and they checked everything out. Also when they stopped work at the end of each day, they cleaned up before they left. Then when it was complete, Chris explained the operation of the alarm system to me. They did the job in the time they said and within budget -- and they were professional as well as competent.

Initially I got a phone call back and was told a tech would call me.....No call ....

We used Borges because they are the only local distributor of BEAM central vacuum systems. (We chose BEAM because we liked their vacuum and accessories better than the other brands.) Also, Borges gave us was seemed like a good install price for the system. The owner/installer for Borges is Rufino. He's a very interesting character with sort of a sarcastic sense of humor, for lack of a better description. If you can understand Rufino, you'll do just fine -- he'll do anything for you. Rufino is a straight talker -- doesn't sugar-coat bad news. He'll just say it like it is. Rufino and his assistant installed the piping for my central vacuum system. They did a good job except in two areas which I had repeatedly warned Rufino about in advance. One area of the house couldn't have pipes because of access required for a crawl space. The other area was where the central heating main plunum was going to go. He put central vac pipe in both areas but then had to come back and do it over. In the first case, his reply to the request to move the pipe was, "I'm already done there. No way." But after some discussion about everything, he eventually did move the pipe. There was no argument, just lots of discussion. That's what you have to know about Rufino -- don't just take his first answer as the final answer. There was another situation where I had to call for service after the install was complete because one of inlets didn't work due to a faulty inlet receptacle. Rufino came out and replaced the inlet. Still didn't work. He had to crawl under the house to find another problem (not fun). He found the problem -- it was where my contractor had cut the central vac low voltage control wire. Rufino complained a bit about it but in the end he made the repair of something that was not his fault and he didn't charge me for it. I was glad he did that extra service for me. I had to ask Rufino to come back to install the muffler on my vacuum unit b/c I didn't know it was not part of the original contract. He charged me a good price for the muffler and the install. Borges also charged a good price for a vacuum hose sock accessory we purchased later on. I would use this company again because I like Rufino and his wife, Mary, the office manager.

They were punctual as to their arrival and finishing the work. They did leave a few wire pieces and solder around, but overall were neat. They put smoke detectors in the bedrooms and after they were finished we discovered that they hadn't put a smoke detector in the family room (where guests sometime sleep). They came back and put one there too.

A very pleasant experience so far. I knew enough about my home (single-story, 2 doors, 10 windows, crawl-space access, two cats) that I was able to get a ball-park estimate over the phone. The quoted price ($995) is for a hard-wired system with two pet-tolerant motion detectors. Monitoring is $25/month. In comparison, Bay Alarm quoted $750 for a wireless system (no motion detectors) and charges $30/month for monitoring. Wireless is easier to install, but then you need to deal with all of the batteries...in my opinion, Borges offers a superior value. Based on my experience so far, I recommend contacting Borges when shopping for a home security system.

This company gave a somewhat higher estimate than others did, but I especially liked that it was a family-run company with prompt personal attention. I also liked the fact that the family has been doing this for a long time and really know what they are doing. They installed the system all in one day, left no messes behind, and got everything connected right. It works GREAT and is very easy to use. Plus the motion detectors really don't get set off by my very wild and frequently airborne cats (another company had told me that there were no motion detectors that were truly safe with pets).

The job was done on time and on budget.

Excellent experience. Fino was fast, efficient and very reasonably priced. He solved my alarm problem that two other companies were unable to do. Very pleasant and easy going actually felt like a friend came to visit.
