We wanted to redesign and update our backyard, and we had some ideas, but needed the input of an expert who could understand our vision and help us fill in the missing pieces. We met with several landscapers but each asked some version of the same question: â Tell us your vision and we will tell you what it costs and if we can do it.â We have used several landscapers over the many years we have lived at our house. We obviously wanted one who was competent to execute the plan but first we wanted someone creative; someone with energy, ideas, and passion who would join us in the process of designing the plan; someone who would do the work to grasp our vision and then expand it into something beyond our vision. We found this person in Lacy Valenzuela and her team at Black Diamond Landscaping. The first day Lacy came to our house we knew she was one. Creative. Passionate. Visionary. Fun. The end result of our updated and redesigned backyard exceeds our imagination. It looks stunning. For years I had imagined a putting green in our backyard. I didnâ t want a slow rolling turf square with three holes and only straight putts. If I was going to do it, I wanted a putting green creation. I wanted a putting green integrated into the existing landscape and into the other areas of the backyard where people gathered. I wanted to be able to putt and still be part of the conversations under the awning, by the grill, at the firepit, or in the spa. I wanted the green to roll smooth and fast, with uphill, downhill, left and right breaks. Lacy instantly recognized my hyper-specific, over-controlling mindset about the putting green and called in Tony, who understood the whacky mind of someone who is â intoâ golf. Tony was awesome. He assured me Black Diamond could do it. He turned out to be more than right. Thank you to Lacy, Tony, Jorge, and the whole Black Diamond team for being kind, good, fun, and amazing landscapers.

When we finally decided to do pavers for the front of our home, we were very lucky to casually stubble (funny story) into Rocco Pent! Great all around guy! I received multiple estimates but I was very impressed with Rocco's honesty, attention to detail, presentation, knowledge, and professionalism. I had a lot of questions, and I pay attention to every little detail - so I appreciated Rocco's patience and understanding in answering all my picky questions. I loved that I could see my project laid out visually before starting - that was very huge and important to me. Rocco made sure the project was done right from start to finish! It was also great to hear from one of the project coordinators, Travis, who personally called us to make sure things are good and if I had any questions/concerns along the way to call him anytime - great customer service! I am so happy with the work done by Black Diamond! Black Diamond delivered a beautiful transformation to our driveway, walkway and front porch! Geo (our foreman) and his team were clean, meticulous, and efficient, making sure my home was cleaned up before leaving each day - huge plus! We also had the front facade of our house replaced at the same time by other contractors. The projects impacted each other and Geo was helpful in making sure everyone working could finish and not get in each others way as much as possible. I just love my new driveway and patio, it looks so clean and modern! I get so many neighbors (and bikers riding by) saying how awesome it looks! I am so thrilled with Black Diamond Pavers. We had read reviews of various landscaping companies and met with a smattering of them, but immediately knew Black Diamond was our top choice. We hired them to landscape our dismal, terrible backyard. Truly it looked like a scene from a Tim Burton film and the ground was as hard as concrete. Just look at the before and after â no need to label which is which. Emily contacted us and scheduled an appointment for us to meet with Sheila O'Fayhe. Emily followed up to make sure we were still available and Sheila showed up on time (I was so thrilled about that), shared samples of products and left us with various landscaping product booklets to look over. During our appointment, Sheila took the time to measure the space and provided an estimate based on our description of what we wanted. There were details we hadn't thought of that she kindly walked us through. And when we asked, she provided helpful, supportive guidance. I was also pleased that she listened to our budget and helped us make decisions that fit within those constraints. She was personable and delightful to meet with and quickly won the hearts of our pet rabbit and very timid dog. We personally had to postpone working with Black Diamond because of some issues with interior contractors, then COVID (btw â I have not had great experience with contractors, grrr). When we finally wrapped up the mess with our 4 week bath remodel turned 6 months, we contacted Black Diamond and they scheduled us within a few weeks of their peak season. Sheila and Columba coordinated scheduling and delivery of materials. Alfredo and his crew were assigned to work on our yard. The quality of work is AMAZING! Alfredo and his crew transformed our yard. And they were a pleasure to work with, They were polite, thoughtful with cleanup and asked questions to make sure they were meeting our expectations. We were very impressed with Sheila and Alfredo's attention to detail and quality materials. We ended up adding to the job a little and I appreciated Sheila's quick turnaround of change orders. Sheila is so buttoned up. She is very detailed in her work. Truly I wish I could have hired her privately to oversee our interior work because she does such a fantastic job of managing projects, and she is communicative but to the point. Towards the end of the job, Sheila walked through and examined the details, pointing out a couple of very minor things she wanted improved. I've never had a contractor who looked for flaws and committed to fix them. And truly, they are very minor details I would not have noticed. I also have been very pleased with the administrative part of hiring with Black Diamond. They make it easy to receive change orders and support making payments online. I recommend Black Diamond 100%. *Disclaimer: Shared fence was completed prior to landscaping by fencing company.

One of the best home improvement projects we've ever done! Lacy Valenzuela, her fabulous creative mind and the Black Diamond team helped us design our new driveway to match our home and the neighborhood. We constantly have neighbors that are out on a walk or driving by, stop and ask for a business card because of a job well done by Black Diamond!

Michael Martínez and his crew lead Irwing did an extraordinary job in the hardscape project for the front of my house . We added new steps and walkways that look just perfect , Michael walk us thru the process and explained everything very thoroughly. We had a very nice experience with Michael , 5 stars from start to finish !!! Thank you !!

I recently hired Black Diamond to redo the pavers in my backyard. When I bought the house, the previous owners used three different stone materials/patterns which didn't mesh and which looked very dated. The project manager and designer for BD was Michael Martinez. I had two other bids for the job but ended up going with Michael because he was head and shoulders above the other two company reps (BD was the high bidder but you usually get what you pay for right). His explanation of the project was very detailed and well thought out. He provided several completed projects close to my house that I could visit to see BD's quality workmanship firsthand. The project was completed on time and on budget. The communication from Michael throughout the process was excellent with all questions fully answered in a timely fashion. Most importantly, there was a drainage problem in one area after project completion which was addressed and remedied quickly. I was then assured by Michael that if any future issues arose, they would be handled in the same manner. I would strongly recommend BD, and Michael in particular, for any hardscape project you may have.

All of the above! We just completed our 2nd project of stone work, synthetic grass and a putting green and a new driveway with Black Diamond! We are lucky to work with Michael Martinez the project manager. Michael has such a great vision. He understood what I was wanted and added his design touches, and was able to provide a competitive bid! At a great price! His workers are among the best! they work so hard and are really good at what they do! My 2 projects look fantastic! I would highly recommend Michael - his crew and Black Diamond for any stonework or yard project.

We were really happy with the job that Black Diamond, especially Michael Martinez, did with our back yard. He was very helpful and was easy to work with, most importantly quick and easy to contact about our questions or clarifications. He listened to what we wanted but was also very good at giving suggestions to what would work better. Although the project was small, we had a few complications that he and his crew were able to work through and make look seamless and great. He was great at helping us visualize the project. His crew work efficiently and fast and did a very professional job. If we have another project, we will for sure reach out to him and Black Diamond.

We moved into a new construction house and the back and side yards were unfinished. Daniel Parden, of Black Diamond, came in and transformed the space. He worked with us from concept to completion, was quick to action feedback, and ensured the project was executed perfectly. Daniel provided a caliber of service and integrity that way surpassed our expectations. We will be using Daniel and Black Diamond again.

I would like to provide a review on the quality of work by Lacy Valenzuela, Project Design Specialist with Black Diamond Paver Stones & Landscape, Inc. Lacy and her team did an incredible job of interpreting a very rough hand written diagram that I provided her with the vision and dream we had for our new backyard. It is a more intimate yard that includes a pergola, small water feature, storage building and landscape that suits this smaller space. Lacy took the time to listen to our desires and wishes for this space including thoughts about hardscape, barbecue area, plants and irrigation. She really listened to what we wanted the end product to look like and at the end of the day she provided us with exactly what we were looking for. Love my new walkways and driveway. And the job was done in only 4 days. I needed a handicap accessible ramp built in and they did a wonderful job! Chris Murray was our project manager and only a text or phone call away!

I had a contractor leave me with a very dangerous fall hazard in my yard and called Black Diamond to help solve the problem. I was lucky that they assigned Michael Martinez, who spent considerable time coming up with a plan to fix it. I was concerned about mixing existing stone with pavers, but thankfully it came out amazing. He made additional structural improvements along the way and didn't try to nickel and dime. Problem solved! After the job was completed and paid in full, Michael had my driveway power washed. That was totally unexpected as all other contractors have left me with black tire marks. I give Black Diamond 5 stars and am recommending Michael to my friends for a job done beyond my expectations!

Amazing work! These people are REALLY good at what they do. They were clean, professional, and went above and beyond! A+++ Ray was amazing - he did everything that he said he would and more, he was communicative (we received texts and email updates as well as personal phone calls to make sure we were happy with the process), professional, friendly, and caring. I can't say enough about how happy I am with they way they look. They were even caring enough to make sure that the surface was even with our ramp entry so my wheelchair would not "catch" when I rolled over it. Our job was a bit complicated, but they were efficient with their time and worked VERY hard! It was done in TWO days! I couldn't believe the transformation it such a SHORT period of time. I'm so pleased with the results! I HIGHLY recommend working with Ray and this company!

When we first moved into our home the backyard was a mess, with a retaining wall that was falling over and weeds everywhere. We knew we wanted a low maintenance yard but aside from that were not sure of what we wanted. We had a consultation with Lacy Valenzuela with Black Diamond and were impressed with her knowledge and creativity with what we could do with our backyard. She had a lot of ideas and came up with a design that we loved. The difference is incredible. It turned out better than we imagined. We are now enjoying our backyard. It is finally a peaceful space that we love spending time in. We could not be happier and will definitely hire Lacy again when we are ready to fix up our front yard. My experience with Black Diamond has been great. Their prices are fair, and the scheduling was quick, especially since we had our yard done during the busiest time of year. Lacy Valenzuela was our Project Design Specialist and all around contact with the company, and she was absolutely amazing. She came over every time we needed her and was endlessly available by email, phone or text very seriously every day, all day - even on weekends. She was extremely sweet, kind, and respectful, very clearly cared about and listened to what we wanted, and completely flexible when I requested changes to various plans throughout the process. She readily gave us experienced advice and suggestions on what to do with our yard based on our taste, but never tried to push us into something we didn't want to pay for. And, perhaps most importantly, in the end she delivered exactly what she promised at exactly the price she promised. She was just an awesome lady in general and I was so happy to have worked with her and Black Diamond on our yard project. We certainly plan on working with them for our future projects, and highly recommend them to anyone else!

After three prior bids, from the beginning, I felt I would have, in all areas, a fault free installation, The work, under the direction of Alex Navarro, disappointed. Alex invited my participation every step of the way to guarantee that I got what I wanted. Communication is the key to a this successful installation.

We recently met with Peter Callahan of Black Diamond Landscaping to address our backyard project we've been thinking about for a few years now. Not being the creative types, we didn't have a vision or even know where to start. Peter was able to make suggestions and come up with a design that was beautiful, functional, and within our budget. 5 Stars from us.

I had my entire front yard done in Dec 2018 and am THRILLED with the results! Lacy 916-990-7051 was my project designer & she did an amazing design! I had artificial grass & pavers put in with 20 plants & 1 tree. Lacy went to Green acres Nursery with me and together we chose the plants. The price was VERY reasonable. She was always easy to reach by a call or text. In the future I will choose them to do my backyard!

The project we had done through Black Diamond led by Michael Martinez as designer/consultant/ project manager was done down in a very thorough, professional, and timely manner. Helping us to see and imagine the possibilities went a long way in us being completely satisfied with the final outcome. He along with his crew led by Irving did a great job!
