After our pool was finished they installed the pavers. They worked on and off due to my schedule cause there was a death in my family. I did not expect them to put in secondary pavers around the pool as an edging. They had to remove it because I did not like it. Between my husband, me, the day to day workers, and the designer things got confused. We had to compromise.

We met with Kia Sabet, Senior Design Consultant, of Black Diamond to discuss paving our driveway and walkway. This was a free consultation. Kia was very friendly, listened intently to what we wanted and designed a pleasing and functional walkway and driveway. Kia's goal was to make us happy, and we are very happy with the end result. Also, want to give credit to the work crew headed by Santos. They were very hard working. They finished ahead of schedule. Santos was friendly and very conscientious about his work and answering our questions.

Overall we were very satisfied with the work. The pavers are attractive and should be maintenance free. The prep work and installation were done in a professional and neat manner. The only problem: initially they patched the area between the pavers and the street, and reinforcing the berm, with an asphalt preparation that never hardened sufficiently. When I pointed this out, they had the team dig out all the asphalt, and replace it with concrete at their expense. It now looks fine and seems to be very durable.

I had a wasteland at the right side of my property, where the ground was uneven and was covered in pebbles, white rock and dirt. I asked my Neighbor who she had contracted with to do her Patio remodel. She told me "Black Diamond".? I contacted them and made an appointment for their Design Representative to call on me and give me a free design and bid for my side yard.? George Heropoulos called and looked at the "problem".? He took measurements and photos and said he would call the next week for an appointment to show me the design and bid price. I accepted the bid he presented and signed the Contract on June 30, 2014. The work commenced on July 29, 2014 by Hector, the Foreman and his two crew members.? The carefully removed a Japanese Maple tree and three Azalea bushes that I wanted to keep. The also removed some Birch tree roots that were the size of small tree limbs. The temperatures that the crew were dealing with were in the 90's. They worked solid from 7:30am through 4:30pm with a break for lunch. NO heavy machinery was used, all manual labor,? The complete job took them 4.5 days to complete. Hector also built me a gate on that side so I could exit on either side of the property. I was very pleased with the result.

I sent bid requests to five paver firms. Black Diamond had the best bud but also best communication. The sane 3 guys came every day for Dix days and did a wonderful job.

We bailed after getting the exorbitantly expensive quote.

Can't tell you how it went, they never got back to me.

Black Diamond Paver Stones and Landscape are working on a job for us now. We went them because we saw their flyer, and then we liked the pavers and designs that they had, and they had also sent us a landscaper out it out, who actually helped us to put together a landscaping design, the other companies we got from quotes could not do that. It was really helpful to have a landscaper kind of help us figure out.

Fantastic! It was installed exactly as requested. They finished quickly and it looks great.

No question that communication between the workers, the foremen and the home office staff was just about non existent. I ended up being my own job foreman and it was a struggle. Fortunately, most of those people are no longer with the company ( Feb. 2014 ) . I'm not going to go through all the details but suffice it to say that the finished paver job is quite nice and I have gotten lots of compliments on it. I am very happy with the paver job. The landscaping job is really pretty simple but it has been a disaster from the get go. It is still not finished, but that is my fault. I don't want that crew on my property again. I know that Black Diamond is capable of finishing satisfactorily and it is up to me. Together we will get it done shortly. I will finalize this review when that is accomplished. Very professional and responsive from start to finish. Sales person/designer Elton was very knowledgeable, super responsive over both email and telephone, and very engaged with the project from start through completion. Definitely made sure everything happened as planned. Quote was 25%+ higher than others, but more inclusive, generally more professional-feeling. Work done at a very high level - required some engagement and feedback throughout, but Elton and crew were quick to adjust and make everything right. Roger (owner) checked in, offered to do substantial rework if something didn't turn out right (but it did). Definitely plan to work with again. Have a pending quote for an outdoor kitchen build - granite top, BBQ/refrigerator, with gas/electric and foundation.

Very professional and responsive. Answered all our questions and got back to us quickly. The quote was competitive. Our only concern was that they would not quote on the entire project. We wanted gas and electric run to our proposed outdoor kitchen and they were unwilling or unable to quote this part of the project. We did not want to have to hire two sub-contractors and get stuck with trying to co-ordinate schedules so we decided to move forward with someone else.

While my initial interaction with the estimator was not favorable, the owner followed up with me and went out of his way to address my questions and needs. I have rarely seen this type of follow-up and professionalism from a contractor. On this basis alone, I would have a high level of confidence Black Diamond, knowing that the ownership is engaged and very intereted in assuring customer satisfaction.

I think they did a good job and the material was good. They did bring all of their materials over on pallets, put them on our curbstone, and left it around after the job was complete for a longer time than I expected. The only thing I didn’t like is how they purchased their material from John Deer. I didn’t appreciate that John Deer sent us a letter that began with ‘This is not a lean on your house, but...’ They mentioned a regulation that they passed in the legislature and it would put us in a bine if they did something wrong. Luckily, they did what they said they were going to do and the paving was a good job.

Overall, ok. The actual work performed by the crew installing the pavers was EXCELLENT. Extremely professional, cooperative and hard working! Beautiful work layout and design. Would highly recommend based on the crews work (lead worker named Saul) and on the selection of pavers. We went with a cobblestone look and couldn't be happier. We feel like we have a brand new house! However, it was difficult to work with the sales rep whose name I will keep anonymous. Our agreed upon work based on our contract was not always done. We notified the working crew each time we noticed something being done (or not done) differently than what we agreed to, and they were happy to comply to our requests as long as it was ok'd by our sales rep and their foreman. In the end, all the work was performed, but not without significant stress on our part. It appears the sales rep did not share exactly what we agreed upon to the working crew. Also, permits were not pulled on time or at all...we were cited by our City. In the end, we had to pull a permit on our own (sketch our own drawing, fill out the paperwork) when we feel the sales rep should have taken care of it. The sales rep went from being very responsive to our questions to MIA once the work was paid for. We spoke with the President of the company to resolve outstanding issues after our sales rep did not respond to our contacts. The President, along with the foreman in the end were apologetic and resolved all of our issues. Perhaps it was just a fluke? The workers, pavers and outcome were wonderful in the end though! We would recommend but be sure your agreed upon contract is clear and that it is passed onto the crew!
