Better Water Heaters

They showed up on time. Got it done quickly. Gave us advice on what to install. It was painless.

John (Johnny?) arrived toward the beginning of the promised two-hour window. He was friendly and professional. He did the servicing we had discussed and also gave me a quote for new water heater for when one is needed.

Adrian was very polite and efficient!

Robert came over and was very professional. He came over to look at repairing my water heater and said he could repair it, but said it would cost around $500. He suggested installing a new water with a 6 year warranty and said it would be $1400 all inclusive for the new system. Because I am an Angie's List member, I received a $40 discount. When he was doing the work, he seemed to be very knowledgeable about the system and to know what he was doing. Before I decided to move forward with Robert, I had called and searched a couple other companies and one company quoted $2300 for a new water heater. A second company I found offer a new water heater for $895, but after reading reviews on the company I found they added additional charges and decided to move forward with Better Water Heaters.

It wasn't very good. There were no additional charges beyond the big deal amount. When the technician came, he had no idea what he was here for. He was not even aware of the deals going on. We had to tell him what's going on and what needed to be done.

Adrian was really helpful and nice in explaining me the flushing process and potential issues we observed with the water coming out. He was very friendly, helpful and engaging individual which is great for starters when you are trying to understand what is going on. It was not a big job. So don't have a whole lot to describe. But in the end I was very happy with the overall experience.

It was fine. They were responsive and were here and when they said they would be. Apparently it costs a lot more to have that work done and I don’t feel like it would be worth more than what I paid. I feel the full price would be too high for the service because it was straightforward and easy to complete. Draining the hot water heater only took about 15 minutes. I know how old my water heater is and I didn’t want to replace it, but he did suggest considering replacing the unit to me.

He looked at it and said he could not update it. I asked him to put some bracing on it so it would not fall over in case of an earthquake. I think he did what I asked him to do, but I don’t feel he did anything for what the Big Deal was for.

They did an efficient job (no fuss, no mess).

We woke up on a Sunday morning to no hot water. Going down the Angie's list of "A" rated companies, Better Water Heaters answered the phone. Within 20 mins of my call, Adrian came to our rescue! Trying to first fix the thermastat, to no avail. A new Hot water heater was needed. I so appreciate that Adrian worked hard to save us money. The price for the Hot water heater was very resonable. I highly recommend them!

The whole operation, both heaters took no more than an hour, from what I remember. When he was done he told me that one water heater flush showed a lot of rust. He didn't venture any more info and the vibe was a bit that he was in a hurry. However, I, being also somewhat rushed that day, also failed to speak up with more questions, and so it is really my fault that I missed the opportunity to get some advice. Yet I can think of other service people we have had in the past who would have somehow seemed more welcoming of discussion. So this is my very minimal basis for giving him a B rather than a default A in responsiveness. After the heater was flushed, the water was rusty coming out of the faucet for a day or two, but seems OK since then. I had no idea if this is normal or not. Stands to reason if there had been a lot of rust in the heater that had been stirred up by the flush. I still think that, given the rust, the ideal service person would have suggested a repeated flushing to get all the rust out, even at additional cost, or if the problem were intractable, would have told me so, and would have told me how long to expect the wh to last, what to do with next wh purchase, if my brand was any good or had a bad rep, or if this were simply due to my own 5-year negligence in flushing it myself, etc. Again, my bad for not asking, but the A+++ guy quite likely would have asked for me.

Arrived promptly. Had the water heater and upgrade parts on hand. Explained what he had to due and did it in a professional manner.

Very responsive and courteous from get go. Adjusted time since I home care my husband. We had been experiencing 'knocking' sound for a while and it is attributed to glass lining since there was no debris/calcification drained. We are obviously in the category of getting the best buy for better rated water heaters, and to break this pattern we will need to upgrade in the near future. Our plumber had replaced the connections and redid one of the pipes into the wall (heat/water heater in kitchen closet) when we had a line leak. Next unit will need proper expander. I will call Better Water Heaters to review that installation as they are quite qualified and have a good crew.

Adrian was great.. He removed the old heater and gave me some time to remove old linoleum tiles from the floor around the old heater. After installing the new heater he stayed around and helped me replace an old leaky faucet for no additional charge.

It went fine. The installer was professional and courteous. The estimate was accurate. Everything was tidy when he finished. There was more water spillage during the removal than the installer anticipated, but that wouldn't have been an issue had we moved more of our things out of the area first.

Discovered our old water heater was leaking Monday night. Called Tuesday morning and they were able to send someone out Tuesday afternoon to check it out. After a discussion of options, decided to go with a tankless water heater. They could not install it until Thursday, so he installed a loaner tank so we could have hot water until it got installed. On Thursday he showed up at 9am, and was done by 1:30pm with the new system installed and tested. I have had no issues with the system since it was installed. The technician was very knowledgeable and helpful, answering all questions that I had about the system and installation process.

The guy on the phone was very informative. However, the guys that came out didn't seem to be that knowledgeable. There was a noise after the installation and they came out to try to fix it. They were quick and punctual as well.

I called a few water heater companies on Friday morning and Frans was the most friendly and helpful when I asked him 'newbie' questions. I asked if he could come out same day, to which he said yes. I also called other contractors and his prices were in line with other contractors. When i called Franz back a few hours later (round 11am), Frans told me that unfortunately he had booked up for the day and had a worker call in sick - so my appt was then the next morning. Obviously a bummer, but it was my fault for not calling back sooner. I received a call at 3pm same day and was told that if I wanted to have someone come out same day, that they could. Excellent! The worker arrived about an hour later and worked from 4:30-7pm and completed the work. I appreciated the extra time spent to help me get back up and running in less than 24 hours since the heater broke! The price I paid in the end was in line exactly with what had been discussed on the phone, and the work looks top notch and finally up to to code (we replaced a 21 year old heater...) I would recommend them!

They came promptly, cleaned the water heater and left.

Installation went very fast with no issues. Install completed in about an hour. Price for a 6 year warranty water heater. Installer informed me of PGE rebate for water heater. Overall very satisfied with installation.

Excellent work performed. Underestimated the amount of work required and showed up late morning, but stayed until 7 pm to get the job done. System works extremely well. The employees were highly qualified and professional.

EXCELLENT! I do not understand the recent "F" rating, as this company was great from our initial contact! We have home warranty contracts for our rental properties which covered most of the cost; we paid for upgrades & permit required by the City. From day one we were able to speak with them in a timely manner with regards to the entire process; from appt scheduling with our property manager to removal/installation/clean-up to how & when we would pay them (as we are in a different state from the serviced property). They were GREAT! They worked easily with us and their follow-up superb! Wonderful company, would hire them again in an instant and highly recommend!
