They promised the world. Their employees were not responsible and I believe that they stole from me. I would never use them again or recommend them. They also damaged some of my belongings.
Description of Work: I used them for moving.

Some parts of it were very good. I had a claim that I made with them for two things that were damaged. One was the top of a television cabinet and the other was a very large mirror that was cracked. There were actually four things that were broken but we didn't even claim for two of them. One was the top of a marble table that we knew was cracked before the move, so we didn't even claim that but I listed it and told them that we weren't holding them responsible for it since it was cracked earlier and had broken during the move. The other thing was a set of Thunderbird glasses that were very poorly packaged. They were etched and there is no way they can be replaced. One out of a set of eight or ten was broken and there is no way it can be replaced, so we didn't even claim it, but I listed it anyway. The other two things needed to be repaired. They had the original listing of everything in the move but they wrote back to me and said that I had not provided enough information, so they were disallowing the claim. I was working from a copy that the moving man who drove the truck gave me, and he had turned in all the original papers to Beacons, and for them to say that I hadn't given them enough information was ridiculous. I would take issue to that. Their local man in Orlando that scheduled the move was excellent but it was very poorly handled at this end when it came to our claims for things that were obviously broken by them. They had been responsible for the packing and moving. They did a good job on getting the move here and the truck was here almost at the same time we were. I drove my sister up from Florida and they were here the next morning to unload to her new condominium. The move itself was fine and they were very punctual, and it wasn’t as expensive as I thought it would be. I had thought that it would be really twice as much. Their packers left a lot to be desired since some things were packed well while others were not. I had to call them a month later after making the claim to find out what they were doing with it and they told me that it sometimes takes three months to answer a claim, which is ridiculous. We had everything repaired on our own and moved on but I have no intention of using them again and I will tell anybody else that asks me about this.
Description of Work: I used Beacons Van Lines to move my sister's belongings here from Orlando. They moved all her boxes, wardrobes and furniture.
