I contacted Bay Easy after another contractor provided me an estimate for this work and then never showed up to do the work. Ofer, the owner, came the morning after I contacted Bay Easy and reviewed the work I needed done. After his initial walk through of my place, he returned a few days later with a plumber and walked through the work needed. I was provided with an emailed estimated by that evening and the plumber returned the next morning to do the work. He and his crew were polite, prompt, and asked for my input multiple times during the work to ensure things were completed the way I wanted. The work was done in 2 days and everything was cleaned up well afterward (there was lots of sawing and some tile work to make big holes for the sinks). Bonus, I recently bought this house and didn't have replacement tiles for one of the bathroom' shower stall. Amazingly, they were able to reuse all the tiles (even the ones that had holes from previous faucets) and I didn't need to try to figure out the brand/color for replacement tiles! Ofer, the owner, returned the day after the work was complete to ensure everything was finished correctly.
Description of Work: Minor bathroom remodel. Installed new sinks and shower faucets. Plumbing and tile work were required since we were installing a new shower system with a diverter and multiple shower heads.

Our homeowners' insurance company had threatened to cancel our insurance, due to a lack of handrails on an exterior staircase. We called a few other construction contractors for estimates. One never returned the initial phone call; one set a date two days after he returned my call, but did not call to say he was going to be late until three hours after the scheduled time. Bay Easy Construction returned my call in 17 minutes from the initial e-mail. Ofer set an appointment for 12:00 noon, and arrived with his foreman Paul at our house ten minutes early. After completing the estimate for the railings, I asked them to take a look at a cracked rafter in the garage, and asked for an estimate on fixing it. They discovered three more cracked rafters, in addition to the one I had noticed. This changed the scope of my project, but Ofer gave me an estimate to fix the garage, along with adding the railings, that I thought was quite reasonable. I received the written estimate and contract via E-mail later the same day. I called Ofer to accept the estimate and schedule a date to begin work. He told me that they could start the next day at 9:00 am. Mike and John showed up at 8:50 am the next day, and began working on both projects. They worked continuously each day with a minimum of disruption to our household. They worked on both Saturday and Sunday, in order to get our project finished. On Monday and Tuesday, they were called to help with another project in the morning before starting work on our house. When they arrived about four hours later on Tuesday, they actually apologized for not getting our project done sooner! (Replacing the rafters is a lot of work all by itself; building a set of railings that involved drilling into concrete only added to the amount of work to be done.) Each day, they cleaned up the job site after work so that we could used our driveway. Plenty of nails and screws were used during this project; none ended up in our cars' tires. They always made sure we had safe access to essential areas of the house and garage. Mike and John always explained what they were doing, and why each step had to be accomplished the way they were doing it. They were experienced, talented craftsmen. The communication between all of the Bay Easy Construction people and me was outstanding. Ofer was very helpful in finding a way for me to pay for the project, as a tax payment and an expensive car repair the month before made it difficult to secure funding without borrowing money. The end result is my garage is no longer in danger of collapsing, and we have a beautiful set of railings around our stairs and driveway in only ten days. Bay Easy Construction is now my "go to" contractor for remodeling and repairing our home.
Description of Work: Installed railings along an elevated driveway and exterior stairs; replaced cracked rafters in a garage
I don't like being the first negative review for Bay Easy but my project with Ofer (the owner) was a complete nightmare! First off, when Ofer came to my house to give me an estimate I directly asked him if he used subcontractors. I specifically wanted a company that minimized subcontractors (there are contractors who really do employ their own crews). Ofer said he didn't use subcontractors and that the crew was "all his guys". That ended up being a lie because Ofer hired a subcontractor who in turn hired another subcontractor. The first level subcontractor/project manager that Ofer hired had a suspended license and was working illegally, which Ofer negligently failed to background check. This subcontractor was so lazy and constantly lied. He didn't order materials which significantly delayed my project. The original project also included countertops and the installation of three doors. However, since nothing was ordered, I ended up having to cut these items out of my project. Also, because the subcontractor/project manager did nothing, I ended up being the project manager for my own project! The whole point of hiring a general contractor is so that they do the project for you not that I do everything myself. Why would I pay Bay Easy a mark up to do nothing? Also, I found out later that I was being charged outrageous fees. For example, they ordered a door from Home Depot for $230 but tried to charge me $900 for it (material alone)! There was no way I was paying this. Always ask for receipts...it is your right as a homeowner. Now I wonder what else I was overcharged for that I didn't catch. I complained to Ofer mid way through the project about the subcontractor/project manager and Ofer assured me that he would take care of it. Ofer didn't fix the problem or pull the subcontractor off my project. Furthermore, after I signed the contract in late October and gave Ofer my first payment, I never saw Ofer again. He didn't come by the house to check on the progress, even when I complained about mismanagement and severe delays. If I spoke to Ofer, he was usually asking for money. Ofer promised that my project would be completed by Thanksgiving (4 weeks duration), but by mid December, I just couldn't handle all the inefficiencies and had to fire Bay Easy. Even after I terminated my contract with Bay Easy and paid in full, the subcontractor that Ofer hired was sending me threats and saying that he was going to put a lien on my house! My stress and anxiety levels were through the roof! Now I am left with no doors, finding new contractors, and trying to forget this traumatizing experience. Yes, it was that horrible! To be fair to Ofer, the subcontractor he hired caused a lot of problems, but at the end of the day Ofer is responsible. Bay Easy is his company. I do want to note that Cindy (office manager) was amazing at helping me terminate the contract and deal with the unprofessional antics of the subcontractor.

Please accept our sincere apology for the inconvenience you had experienced. We take full responsibility for hiring the wrong subcontractor due to our busy schedule at the time, believing he would provide you the high quality customer service and work as we usually perform. At Bay Easy Construction, we take pride in ensuring our customer satisfaction, unfortunately, it did not happen with you and we are deeply sorry for this. This subcontractor was a bad experience for you our valued customer and for us as well. As a testament to our strive for perfection, we have taken steps to ensure that this will never happen again by only using our own workers. As the owner, I'm willing to do everything I can to help you and compensate you in any way that will lighten your experience. As shown by our other reviewers, we are committed and enjoy providing the highest level of service to our customers.
We had multiple contractors look at our basement project. Some never provided a bid, some showed up intoxicated, others just never responded to emails or phone calls. We finally were able to get two valid bids on building out the basement. One of them from Bay Easy. We chose to work with Ofer and is crew because of may factors. They always showed up when they said they would, they made the bidding process easy, contracts were simple and detailed, and at no time did I feel anything was above their skill level. We started the project in early December with a completion goal of before Christmas. Day one the crew showed up and got straight to work. By the end of the day we already saw progress. At some point during each work day, I was contacted and provided a status update. Communication was frequent and thorough. Long story short, they nailed it (no pun intended). They transformed the room into something above and beyond what we expected. The jobsite was left clean and finished. During the final walkthrough, I was unable to find any part of the job that I was not totally satisfied with. The cost was a bit higher than the competing bid (~15%), but it was fair and within reason. I will be using Bay Easy Construction for future projects and recommending them to friends and family.
Description of Work: We had an unfinished basement that was accessed from the outside of the house. Bay Easy framed in all of the walls, hung sheetrock, textured, painted, and relocated the stairs so our access is now from the inside of the house.

My husband and I just bought our first house together and have plans to make it our own. It’s a modest 2b/2ba house originally built in the 60’s, which goes without saying the house needed some updating. The work we wanted done was no piece of cake: we needed to remove a load bearing wall separating the living room from the dining + kitchen, as well as remove a wonky wall in the kitchen that separated the actual kitchen from the dining space. Above this, we had plans to remodel the entire kitchen; new cabinets, new appliances, rewire electrical, convert our old electric stove to gas, etc. Clearly, this whole project would be no piece of cake. We really weren’t sure what the cost would be for this type of work, so we shopped around and requested a few quotes from other contractors, most of which came in way over our budget, which was disappointing. My husband and I thought we would have to reconsider the work we wanted done to due to our budget constraints seeing as the quotes we received were almost double what we budgeted out. When shopping around, we found Bay Easy Construction on Angie’s List and gave them a call (at like 9pm mind you!). Ofer immediately called us back and scheduled a time to check out our house. Right away Ofer saw the potential in our house and shared our vision of the work we wanted done, which felt great because the other contractors who gave us bids were obviously not excited about the work we needed to do and made us feel like what we wanted was impossible with our budget. Ofer was pumped to do the work and to see our house transform, and besides being very competitive with his offer, it really made us feel good knowing the guy we hired for the job was actually happy to do the work. Ofer and his crew began demo on our house almost immediately. They were fast, clean, careful, and respectful of our house (we have a small house, and a baby!). Like with most home construction and remodel, there are usually surprises which have to be dealt with, which Ofer and his crew handled amazingly. He and his team were always responsive to our requests and our questions, they made sure we approved everything before changes were made or work was done. It was clear they had our happiness in mind. I won’t lie to you, there were certainly some road blocks that came up along the remodel that ended up extending the timeline of the work. At the end of the day we preferred that Ofer and his crew work at a steady and comfortable pace in order to get things done carefully, rather than rush everything at the end just to meet some deadline. Quality work takes time, and we weren’t in this to rush things! Ofer has a serious passion in transforming homes, his energy is contagious and he really focuses on delivering for his clients, which as we’ve seen, is rare in this industry. Now that the work is done, my husband and I really feel like we gained a friend and we plan to do more work with Ofer in the future (hello master bedroom!). We’ve had our kitchen for almost two weeks now, and every day I just oogle over how beautiful it is and what great work Ofer and his crew did for us.

I contacted three companies from Angie’s List to quote for a downstairs remodel. We had schematic drawings from architects but no details for the work and no materials chosen. At this stage, we were only looking for a rough estimate and to get a feel for each company. All three companies from Angie’s List were impressive. It was not an easy decision. Ofer was very prompt to reply to my message. I arranged an appointment with him for the following week. He and his team arrived a few minutes early. He made some very thoughtful suggestions during our review of the property. Based on our meeting, I felt strongly that the quality of his work and his ability to manage his time would have been superb. He seems to work with a terrific team of people and they clearly has a lot of experience in this line of work. In the end, our final decision was based more on a personal recommendation for another contractor (outside of Angie’s List) that we discovered after our search had already begun.

It went very well, professionally and smooth. Second time I have used them and they are very good at what they do!
We recently performed a comprehensive remodel of our Union City home through Bay Easy Construction. My wife and I met with 5 different contractors before we ultimately went with Ofer since we felt he could best deliver on what we wanted at the right price. We felt very comfortable with Ofer and his designers from the very beginning. Since we were new at this, and the project was huge, we were still anxious and wondered if he could deliver on our remodeling goals?.and boy did Ofer and company deliver! The process was smooth and the result was absolutely beautiful. Hopefully we can get the pictures uploaded soon so you folks can have a look for yourself. During the initial visits, we appreciated how knowledgeable and patient Ofer was about the many questions we had. He was able to give us a ton of information on the pros and cons of both major and minor work items. On many occasions, Ofer was able to recognize what we wanted to achieve with the remodel without us having to tell him. For example, we really appreciated his suggestions on adding windows to the fireplace wall and replacing the aluminum tin on top of the pergola with a clear one. This tremendously increased the amount of natural light that came into the family room. At first we didn?t want to tell him the budget we were working with but since we started to feel comfortable with him, we decided this information will only help him get us what we wanted. He was able to take that and tell us upfront the estimated (and surprisingly accurate) cost of several different upgrades along with each of its pros and cons. This helped us narrow down the set of upgrades we could accomplish with our budget and that is what we used as a baseline to compare Bay Easy Construction with other contractors. At first, we were a bit bothered by his direct tone, but got used to it quickly and actually rather appreciated how frank he was about what was reasonable at what cost. One negative note is that I feel Ofer delayed the material selection. We could have used more time to pick the right materials and felt rushed in making our choices. I would recommend people to start the material selection sooner. Ofer?s crew was great to work with as well. I went over to the house many times to see how the guys were doing their work. Without saying, his crew performed the work with quality. For example the front entryway was slightly uneven from the previous floor that was there. Instead of cutting corners, they floated the floor properly even though they didn't really have to. His tile guy was super nice to work with. He went over tile patterns and spacing and was a pleasure to work with. As you will see in the pictures, the floor, kitchen, and shower tiles came out gorgeous. We felt that the guys did every upgrade thoughtfully and carefully. A minor example is when I watched one of his guys install the bathroom hardware. He took his time to align the towel bars and toilet paper holders perfectly. Minor, but we really appreciated this attention to detail. There were a couple of hiccups where Ofer?s crew installed the wrong toilets and vanity tops. Ofer ate the costs of replacing them without any question. At the end, every room came out beautiful. During the project, my wife and I changed our mind on a few things (we were just not in love with some of our initial selections). Ofer did not complain about any of the changes even though some changes required that he demolish some of what was already built. We really appreciated his attitude towards the changes. The quality of the materials he used was high and something we didn't have to ask for. He went above and beyond to meet our expectations on many levels. We will definitely use him again for any future projects.

I read several reviews before reaching out to Bay Easy construction and was particularly concerned by one reviewer who said Ofer was very abrasive or hard? But this was the furthest thing from the truth because my experience was incredibly professional and positive! After working with several businesses and reading many negative reviews, I strongly believe that there are just as many BAD OWNERS/CUSTOMERS, as there are Contractors. If I could give an employee of the year award, it would go to Natalia because when I told them that they were out-bid by another high rated Contractor, she took the initiative to see if she can work with Ofer to counter? How many employees and businesses would take the time to see if they could match or beat an offer, for a relatively small remodeling project in the City? No other Contractor even bothered to reply when I told them that I went with someone else? Fact: When Ofer and Natalia arrived at our store, they showed up 30mins early while every other Contractor came LATE! Fact: Ofer and Natalia took detailed notes describing all of the work needed as well as suggestions for improvements and potential hazards! Only 1 other Contractor was as prepared as these guys! Fact: Ofer has an accent and is upfront with everything. He doesn't sugarcoat what needs to be done and how long it could take. As a Customer, I can't be more thankful for someone who is straight up with me. This is NOT a Doll House, this is a Building that needs work in a City with complicated building codes, so anybody who wants their ego massaged and told delicately about suggestions, should probably hire someone else. I found out how difficult and stressful it is to navigate through the Dept of Building later on and am telling you honestly that someone like Ofer who has deep knowledge/experience with remodeling is imperative to get a Permit with the City. I received a very low bid from 2 Contractors who have only 1 review each. You might be thinking about going with these guys because it might seem like your receiving a deep discount but I didn't. I admire Bay Easy construction because they don't try to under-bid and give you a surprise over-run later on. Their estimates are well detailed and they stand by the bid they submit which was 2 days later! The fastest estimate among all other Contractors! This is a long review for someone I didn't end up using but they deserve all my praise and will be someone I will reach out to again! Feel free to contact me with any questions. Thank You
Description of Work: I reached out to a total of 15 Contractors because a majority of them did NOT reply or want to be bothered with a small business project in San Francisco. Not only did Natalia and Ofer reply immediately, they were professional from beginning to end. They came out from Walnut Creek to provide a very competitive estimate for our Project.

I was helping my elderly parents with their outdated bathrooms and making their master bathroom handicapped accessible for my Mother who has limited mobility. The owner, Ofer, and his crew did an exceptional job from start to finish. Beginning with consulting and working with my parents and myself with design options for the project. We then used their design plans and obtained three other bids, with theirs being just slightly more than the lowest bidder. With the positive initial impression and after checking with several of the references they provided, we elected to work with Bay Easy. During the remodels, they kept the work areas tidy and the guys were polite and professional in dealing with my parents. To our surprise, they finished slightly ahead of schedule and created limited discomfort and mess while working in the house. I would definitely use them again for remodeling needs and am pleased that I was able to help my parents (especially my Mom) out with their project.

The works was well done but the coordination with the permit inspectors was poor. Benicia is a small town the same inspector might come out three times the same day if you stage your project well and confer with them when they first come out. If you rely on the computer system and no human contact a small project can take a long time to complete as each step may take days. I think this company would do best with much larger projects than mine. That being, I was quite happy with the results and their staff was concerned and pleasant to communicate with.

I was originally a little disappointed with the final work product - the 3D drawing and how long it took them to deliver the drawing. However, I was impressed that the Owner called me to apologize for the delay and informated me that the Angies LIst deal caught them off guard with the response. The Owner then personally sent me a check to reimburse me. I thought this was very admirable and thus I would give them another shot when I have future work.

UPDATE - the owner called me to understand why I wrote the negative review. I provided him a copy of the email sent to me (which is noted below) and he apologized for the confusion and explained some issues with his back office staffing. He offered to work with me to get a design regardless of the angies deal. He sounded sincere and I may work with them moving forward. Updating my ratings as it can be hard to find good staff and mistakes happen. -- There was a lot of back and forth with scheduling for the design consult. That part was fine. Oddly, they showed up at my house after I had proposed a new date, but then did not confirm it with me and just showed up, sadly I was not home. Then a few weeks later they decided they no longer service San Francisco. Everyone was nice about the whole problem and apologetic, but ultimately I did not get what I paid for and had to seek refund with Angie's. I was ready to remodel my kitchen, so had they followed through, there could have been a potential $20k+ job for them. They still have not removed San Francisco from their service area on their Angie's list profile.

I don't believe there are any contractors in Pleasanton Valley that could accomplish what Ofer did in the timeframe we needed it. We were renting in the enrollment area of the school we wanted in Pleasanton Valley, so we were on a tight schedule.. we wanted the whole-house renovation done in 6 weeks. By 6 weeks, it was done, and we were able to move in, with just some fit-and-finish work left which was taken care of working around our family. Given how slow other contractors seemed to be, we were shocked. Our experience getting bids from contractors in the Pleasanton area before finding Bay Easy was horrible. There just seem to be many who lack a sense of urgency, are too "old school", don't follow up, are too ambivalent, etc. I am a professional executive and my time is every bit as important as anyone whom I hire to work in my home. I expect responsibility and accountability. Ofer was a pleasure to meet with from the first meeting. He has passion for his work, drives hard, always tries to be accommodating, and makes sure to get things done on time while offering innovative solutions. He can be a bit intense but I will say I MUCH PREFER THAT to contractors who tell me "it may take me a few days to get you an estimate because my computer is acting up" or otherwise just don't seem to care about my schedule. We've been in our home going on 3 months now and couldn't be happier, and all our neighbors think it's beautiful.
Description of Work: We bought a Monterey model (4 bed, 2.5 ba ~2100sqft) home in Birdland in Pleasanton that its major infrastructure such as water heater, roof, and AC unit maintained but otherwise was in total disrepair. Ofer and his crews came in and majorly renovated the whole home, including full remodel of Kitchen (including plumbing for gas range) and Bathrooms, complete interior paint, doors, molding, and some major construction work including moving walls in the master bath and conversion of laundry room to a mud room / office (including movement of washer dryer to garage along with gas line, etc). For those who know these homes in Pleasanton: you understand what a bad setup the Master Bath is before any renovation. Ofer's team came up with a very innovative solution by moving some walls that allowed for both the closet space my wife and I needed as well as a large, luxury style shower that for once in my life has a head high enough so I don't have to bend over! :) Also, the mud room solution was very innovative: it has allowed me to have the plenty of office space I need while providing the kids both a place to hang their backpacks coming in/out of garage as well as a tiled entry area from the garage door to the pool area when they come in dripping wet from the pool or the rain. Has worked out brilliantly. On the outside, the siding of the house was rotting. Solution? Stucco the front, and re-stucco the rest! It's beautiful. Here to, there was an innovative solution where Ofer used stucco construction around windows and the columns that we really like, and will be low maintenance. All windows were also replaced and new construction to code was done as needed. Bay Easy also took care of many details, such as putting in a new sub-panel where needed, connecting us with help for some large trees needing removal, ceiling fans etc.

I needed some work done in a one bath one bed condo. The job included painting the small bathroom, installing a medicine cabinet which I already have, and taking out the existing carpet and putting in engineered hardwood that is just shy of 600 sq ft. My estimate came out to $9,500! I thought that was an absurd amount of money but you can be the judge. I also thought Ofer, the contractor was too abrasive. He made me feel like the job was beneath him as he stated "i do big jobs, this is a small place. I am a contractor."

Response from Bay Easy Construction
Hello [Member Name Removed], I'm sorry that we could not meet your expectations. As we mentioned on the phone, there was more to the job than what you probably expected because of the damage that was previously done. This estimate of $9500 may have seemed expensive, as you had a budget of $7000, but there was so much more that needed to be completed in order for your needs to have been met. For example, on the surface, you needed a little paint, but in actuality, because of the damage from the neighbor up above, as you explained. We would have had to texturize, add primer, and then paint. Plus add and paint baseboards. You were already having work done in that bathroom from your HOA, which included all new drywall, so to just add paint over that wasn't an option. I also saw that there was no fan, and suggested that before they finished the drywall, that you should buy a fan and have them install that, trying to save you time and money later on. The other work, such as adding the medicine cabinet, removing the carpet and then installing new engineered hardwood floors, was priced as competitively as every other job that we do, as with other contractors in our area. Regarding the quote that you have on here, all I meant was that the bid was accurate, and that I do a lot of large jobs and with that experience comes the knowledge of finding the best price for each and every client. There is always more to the story, and there's always more work then the customer expects, We tried to make good with this client several times, but we were not able to help or please her, as we wanted. I hope that other readers on here do give me a chance and judge for themselves, as we do go above and beyond, and you get more than what you pay for! Again [Member Name Removed]- we are disappointed that we could not meet your needs and that you are feel our pricing was absurd. I truly hope that you find someone to complete your remodel under your budget and that you will love and enjoy it! Best of luck.

What better recommendation than putting our trust in Ofer from Bay Easy Construction to remodel our whole house while The contractor,Ofer, was working 350 miles away for the last year in San Fransisco. We found him to be very responsible, honest and take pride in his work. Since he is working in San Fransisco, he came only twice and made sure that his project manager will be at the site everyday. Tami and his designer were both very helpful. Ofer is a detail person and was in a constant communication with us. The project turned out beautifully.
Description of Work: Full kitchen remodeling (custom cabinets, backsplash, island, etc.) Also two bathrooms (Caesarstone countertops, new tiles, glass shower/bathtub doors, etc.) They also took care of all the plumbing and the electrical aspects. The inspection went very well fast by code with no problems.

After searching many companies, we finally decided to work with Bay Easy Construction company, and we couldn't be happier. The staff was helpful and patient. The quality of the materials was excellent. The price was reasonable. Their design ideas are fresh and always kept within the ideas of the client. In addition, they will do whatever necessary to make your project a reality and meet your expectations.

We just bought a house and want to remodel two bathrooms and the kitchen. Bay Easy ran a promotion of $49 consultation and 3D rendering of floor plan. Ofer and Hillary came to our house. They were both very professional and provided many good suggestions on what to do and various options. Although we did not end up using them as the contractor due to price, their design did help us decide on a couple of remodeling choices.

The contractor was overwhelmed with requests for the coupon deal, and was unable to fulfill in a quality manner. It is unclear to me exactly how Angies List and their customers manage this sort of thing, but clearly the process is broken. Honestly, I think the folks that run Bay Easy Construction are above board, and committed to doing quality work.
Description of Work: Provided 3D rendering of a bathroom remodel. I am getting a refund from Angies list.

We highly recommend Bay Easy Construction for their punctuality, professionalism, prices and GREAT WORK!!! We will definitely use them for our next project!
Description of Work: We had our backyard landscaped with new concrete, lights, waterfall and two beautiful gardens. My husband and I are thrilled with the outcome of our project. We expected our yard to look similar to our drawings, but Ofer and his team went above and beyond our expectations. The waterfall is beautiful! The concrete work is amazing! The color is perfect and the design is awesome. The yard lighting is placed in perfect locations to highlight our garden areas at night, as well as provide lighting for the patio area. Ofer and his team came to our site everyday and were punctual. Our home was treated with the upmost respect during construction, and the work site was cleaned and organized each night before the team left for the day. Ofer was very easy to work with. He listened to our wants and needs, and stayed on track. In addition to the professionalism that Bay Easy demonstrated on our project, the cost of our project came in less than we expected. THANK YOU for a job well done!!!!!

The kitchen design offered was uninspiring. I send the designer some comments and question but did not get a response from her. I guess that this is as much as I can expect for $50.
Description of Work: The provider did a 3 dimensional design of a kitchen renovation. My review only addresses this 3-d design since I have not hired the provider as a contractor.

I want to preface this review with saying I am in that 2% of people that are very anal. So it is very difficult to please me. I met with Ofer and his assistant Hilary on 3/13/2014 for an estimate of the project. They took measurements of the room and I showed Ofer exact pictures of what I would like built, as depicted in a home Improvement website. All 3 of us discussed every detail of the project from what it would be framed with, dimensions, materials used, and estimate of completion. I explained to Ofer that once they framed the soffit I needed time to complete the electrical work. This is because I would be wiring all of the recessed lighting. He couldn't have been cooler about this "no problem"! Another thing I explained to Ofer was that extreme care must be taken since brand new hardwood floors were installed recently and can't be damaged. He explained to me that they would put multiple layers of painters paper down, and "Ram Board" on-top it. Ram board is basically a heavy duty cardboard that's used to protect the floor area during construction and painting. If you drop something on ram board it will cushion it from denting the floor (well within reason). Ofer listened to every detail of what I would like constructed and from memory was able to walk through every intricate detail. If there was any ambiguity about how I wanted a particular item completed he asked me for clarification. I was very impressed with this! I knew right away that Ofer was extremely detailed, and had a high level of comfort that he would get this project completed with top-notch work. He is very easy going and willing to bend over backwards to do what it takes to ensure you're happy. Much to my surprise Ofer was able to offer me a bid for the work to be completed on the spot.Never in any dealings with OTHER contractors were they able to give me a bid on the spot, this usually takes days of lag time. He offered me a fair and highly competitive price for the work to be completed. I hired him for the job and he said he would be ready to start construction on the following Monday 3/17/2014. I couldn't believe how painless and fast this process was moving. Marco who was the foreman for the job, was introduced to me by Ofer. He would be the point man for every detail of this project. Marco and crew showed up on-time at 8:00am on 3/17/2014 and we discussed the project. They immediately started laying down multiple layers of painters paper and than ram board on-top of it. They were very careful as not to tape directly to the floor (masking tape can mar a newly finished floor). Marco and team than began building and framing the soffit. I couldn't believe how fast they worked without sacrificing quality of the job. They multiple times would check everything with a level before moving onto the next section, to ensure it was perfect. I know from experience that a lot of contractors do not really like you "watching and critiquing while they work", but Marco and crew invited it! If there was anything I had a question about along the way or wasn't happy about they fixed it on the spot. Marco and his crew would stay late to ensure they could complete the job in 3 days. Sure enough the job was completed on-time and exactly on budget with the original estimate. The finished Product is WOW!!! The Framing straight, the mouldings mitre edge is exactly 90 degrees with no gap! The edging they did where the new sheet rock of the soffit meets the ceiling, you can't even tell where where it was taped. It is blended perfectly. At the completion of work Ofer and Marco ensured that I was in every way 100% satisfied with the work. I was and I handed them the check. If you're looking for very high-end work with a precession fit and finish than I would look no further to Ofer and his crew. They will ensure that everything is right and you're 100% satisfied.
Description of Work: Bay Easy Construction Framed and sheet rocked a 18 1/2 inch soffit around the perimeter of a 560 square foot master bedroom. They installed recessed Can lighting in the soffit, created a lip on the soffit in which to place "cove" LED lighting. A Solid Red Oak trim was added around the lip to match the existing hardwood floor.
