I called the company after receiving what was a very high quote from another Angie's list electrician for this work. Ted answered the phone from another job and offered to come out to our house to provide a free estimate that same day. He arrived within the next couple of hours and provided a verbal quote that was more than 50% lower than the quote from the other electrician. Later that evening he sent a written quote by email that was yet another $50 lower. He offered to come out to do the work in two days as he had an opening in his schedule. Ted and his cousin Telli arrived exactly at the time he promised (9am) and they completed the work by the early afternoon. They were courteous and informative and did a fabulous job, even adding in a conduit into the panel for connecting the Solar Panel inverters that are being installed this week. I highly recommend Apollo to anyone in need of electrical work. We definitely plan to call Ted for any and all future electrical work as we continue our renovations.

The job went well and came in at the quoted price. Ted brought two other helpers (family relations) to speed the job along. The new wiring was installed with a minimum of holes in the wall. Ted and his helpers were pleasant to work with.

Amazingly, Ted was able to get me in the same day. He called to see if he could be there early. Arrived on time and was friendly and educational. Then he was in the attic and fixed the problem in no time at all. I couldn't have asked for better communication and service!

Apollo Electric is fantastic. Ted is extremely responsive via phone, text message and email. His pricing was about half of another contractor I called. He was super patient explaining the options for the upgrades. He was punctual, hard-working, and did a perfect job. We are so pleased with his work, and will call him again for more services in the future. A+ all the way.

Unlike several of the other electricians I called, Ted with Apollo Electric called me right back almost immediately. I quickly explained what I needed and he said he'd stop by that evening. Once he understood the scope, he knew how much time it would take and that he could fit me into his schedule. He gave me a quote and a start day later that same week. On the start day they showed up when they said they would and went right to work. They cleaned everything up at the end of the day and were ready to pull wire the next morning. When I looked the work over that evening it was very neat and cleanly done and the wire pull went without a hitch the next morning. When the city came for my electrical rough inspection later the next week they found no issues with the conduit and commented that it was well strapped and routed. I was very pleased with the work.

It was so refreshing. Ted showed up on time to give me a quote. The quote was detailed and accurate. I have a couple of installation challenges that Ted easily resolved. Ted showed up when promised. Cleaned up after himself. Finished the job on time and in budget. He as a pleasure to work with. I am an Apollo customer for life.

We turned off breaker to install a new light switch on wall. When breaker switch was flipped back on, power did not come on. Called Apollo and left message which they promptly responded to. Explained the problem and they suggested we send them a picture of the breaker panel so they could better analyze what the problem might be and give a more accurate price and time estimate. Again, they called back promptly with estimates. They came within a few hours, fixed the problem, and estimates were spot on. Would definitely use them again for any electrical jobs.

We have prior experience with Ted - he did wiring for our new kitchen last year - and we love working with him. He sent a quote on the same day, told us when he is available and came exactly as scheduled. He completed the rough electrical work in one day as promised, and came back when our remodel was completed to do the final work, which took all of one hour or so. He and his assistant clean everything up at the end of the day and are very responsive with questions and open to small changes on the spot when needed. When we did the kitchen job a couple of months ago we had several electricians give us bids, and they were all within the same range, so his pricing is fair as far as we can tell. This time we just wanted to work with him because of prior good experience.

I requested three estimates for this job.The estimate from Apollo was within $100 of the cheapest estimate. The quality of service is very good, however. I decided Apollo was the best value of the three. Ted is thorough, attentive, and easy to work with. He doesn't try to cut corners. After the initial estimate, Ted worked with me via email to finalize the project plan. He accommodated a minor change request. Ted anticipated a potential issue with the conduit routing which might not have passed inspection. We discussed and I elected to make the call to city building office to get an answer to the question. Afterwards, Ted took over the rest of the planning. I never had to deal with the city inspector or PG&E for the service line extension. It was all taken care of. The job was completed in two phases on two different days. The total time they spent on site was approximately 8-10 hours. I wasn't home the whole time. While here they acted professionally. I didn't disturb me any more than necessary and I didn't observe any uncivilized behavior. They didn't cause any damage or leave a mess behind. I don't think this job presented any unique challenges to Apollo so I can't say how they might handle major, unforeseen problems. But, overall, they fully met my expectations. I am happy to recommend them to others.

It went very well, as I would expect from a professional. See above for details.
Description of Work: We kept blowing breakers in our work shed, especially when we turned on space heaters. I called on Monday. Ted was out to take a look within the hour. We explained what we wanted, and he explained what he could do. He did the work Tuesday. Ted replaced all the very old electrical outlets with new GFCI outlets and added four new dedicated circuits, labeling all by number to match numbers in the breaker box. After the work was done, he cleaned up the area, then explained to us what was done. Now we can have four space heaters going, plus all the equipment we use and never blow a breaker. Next time I need an electrician, I'll call Apollo.

Apollo Electric Rocks! Half the power in my house went out on Sunday afternoon. Along with the power went my heat and it was 32 degrees overnight. We were pretty sure we had a problem with a circuit breaker. I called Apollo first thing Monday morning and talked to Ted. After explaining my situation, he told me he could be over in about two hours, after he completed a scheduled job. He came earlier than expected. I got a phone call about 15 minutes before he arrived, letting me know he was on his way. He and his partner were polite and optimistic when they arrived. They took a look at my circuit breakers and determined that indeed I had a bad main circuit breaker. They were able to fix it quickly and I had my power and heat back on! Ted was professional and friendly. He explained what had gone wrong and why. I had called other electrical places and they told it would be a week before they could send someone out. Ted understood my desperate situation and came that very morning. I would recommend him highly and have noted Apollo as my new go-to electricians.

Our renter came home at 8pm to no power - Ted arrived within a half hour. He had to go under the house to fix the issue, and found a faulty wiring installation. Rates are extremely reasonable, even for emergency, after-hours service. We've also used Apollo for other electrical work around the house - 220 installation for an appliance, and addition of a couple of electrical outlets.

Ted's mastery and skill as an electrician enabled him to accomplish this task in a very short period of time for the amount of work that was required with no errors. Ted was responsive, answered all my questions, and demonstrated exceptional knowledge of his trade. My favorite trait of Ted?s is his attention to detail and the fact that he takes pride in his work. In all jobs it is the little details that make a big difference in the end result and Ted sweats the details. Having hired trades people, including electricians, in the past for various home improvements and renovations. Ted & Apollo Electric stands at the top of my list as one of the best I have worked with. Ted was not the first electrician I tried to hire for this job. The first nameless electrician, while initially responsive and visiting the job site, failed to return my phone calls or even provide the promised estimate. The information he gave me about the job was wrong and had I hired him would have proved a very costly error. I am thankful I found Ted on Angie?s list and strongly recommend him for any job requiring an EXPERT electrician! He clearly deserves the high ratings he gets from his clients.

Ted did a great job. Fixed the issue in a cost effective manner. Discussed what was wrong and options to fix.
Description of Work: Several outlets had no power. Needed to be debugged and fixed. Ted quickly diagnosed the issue and discussed the options to fix it. He ran new cable to the bad junction box and replaced some non standard wiring that ran to two of the plugs. He had all the parts he needed on this truck and quickly fixed the issue.

Ted installed a hanging light in our daughter's room, and an outside light on the back wall of the house. he also changed a couple fixtures in our house. He was EXTREMELY professional and took care to clean up any mess he made. He was also true to his word with his quote regarding what wiring was already available for the outside light and only charged us for necessary work. We have now found an electrician we can call upon for all of our electrical needs!!

I asked 3 electricians for quotes to install a 240V outlet in our garage for a car charger. Ted was the first to respond, come by to look at the site, and provide a quote. His price was reasonable, and he appeared professional and competent. This was confirmed when he came to do the work. He and his assistant came on time, worked efficiently, did a nice and clean install, and cleaned up before they left. He even installed the charging station on the wall, which strictly speaking was not part of the job. I couldn't ask for anything more. If I need an electrician, I will definitely call Ted again.

My walls were open for drastic plumbing replacement issues. I noticed electrical Romex cable in wall was charred black indicating severe overload. Called Ted Bakelis of Apolllo Electric. I gave Ted a map of the detailed electric circuit distribution for all lights and outlets in the house, demonstrating the extreme imbalance in loading on the various circuits. First Ted said that the charred wire was do to my Zinco circuit breaker panel. Zinco is notorious for circuit breakers that don't, so a circuit overload will just heat the wires until they char, and eventually burn. Many house fires have been started by their faulty breakers. So first Ted insisted on replacing the circuit breaker panel. Two other electricians that also bid the job also refused to start any work until that panel was replaced. After the panel was replaced, Ted did extensive re-wiring of the house to balance the loads on the circuits while also adding the 17 new canned ceiling lights, four ceiling fans and 11 new outlets in the house. With perhaps a dozen new circuits being added, Ted said it made sense to just add a 50 amp sub-panel in the garage to reduce the length of wire runs to new circuits in that vicinity. Ted also added I think four extra circuits off of the circuit breaker panel that just came to an accessible point in the house one could use as the starting point for any other new circuits one might want to add in the future, but would not have to try to fish wires into the new circuit breaker panel. As we went along I was continually adding new tasks as they became apparent, and Ted was very good about making suggestions for changes or improvements as they occurred to him as well. So the project grew to more than double the original estimate as we found other things that made sense to do at the time. Best to do it all at one time so Ted could work it all out in his head. I happen to love Ted's style of twisting wires together before they go into a wire nut. That is the way it was always done until modern electricians got lazy and now inspectors let them just jab multiple wires into a wire nut and hope that encourages the wires to stay together. I have done lots of wiring myself on a previous house and I think twisting wires together should be mandatory. That is reason enough alone to hire Ted! Ted was very professional yet easy to work with, even a pleasant fellow to have around while his is doing his work. His prices are not cheap but definitely competitive, and you can not deny that he delivers very good quality and value for your money. You also can rest assured that the job has been done well and to code and beyond. After the extensive work that Ted did in my house, I have a very good feeling for his strong work ethic to give the customer the very best job possible. Ted gets my highest Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval, and I am a particularly fussy retired electrical engineer. Ted will quietly agree to that I am sure.
