Amberwood was very difficult to work with. Their front-end process of quoting and designing is broken. They would go weeks without responding to emails and voicemails. Getting the quote for my vanity took close to a month, even after I drove down to their shop to meet with them. Once I got the quote and OK'd the work, no one followed up until a month later when my general contractor happened to talk to them about another job and asked about mine. At that point they said my job had been put on hold, but didn't explain why. Once I assured them that I really did want the vanity, they said it would take 3 weeks to make it. The vanity was finally delivered 6 weeks later. I asked for cabinet pulls to be installed on the vanity because I wanted a certain type and the doors and drawers needed to be routed in order for the pulls to be flush. They gave me a quote on a less-expensive brand of pull. I asked for a quote on the more-expensive brand that I preferred. I never ended up getting a quote from them, but instead was told it would be very expensive. I purchased the pulls online myself, not very expensive, and drove them down to the shop to be installed. When the vanity was delivered, the door fronts were turned around and wrapped tightly against the frame of the cabinets. As a result, the handles pressed into the wood and made marks along the front of each cabinet. This could easily have been avoided. In addition there were dings on most of the drawer fronts and doors. I called customer support and they arranged for a technician to come to my house to make the repairs. He arrived on time, was very pleasant, and did an excellent job. The vanity itself was very well made and was exactly what I had ordered. The bad experience I had with the entire process means that I will not recommend Amberwood to anyone. I decided not to use them for my kitchen cabinets ($25K of work) because of how hard it was to get the vanity quote, and I will not use them for the other built-in bookcases that I need to have made (around $10K or work) due to how unpleasant the entire process of working with them was. My general contractor is considering other suppliers because I'm not the only one of his customers who has had a bad experience with Amberwood.

They were able to take my kind of crude drawing and turn it into the real thing and it came out exactly the way I wanted it to. First they did everything online. Then it was based on the talk I had with the receptionist on the phone. Then she gave us the estimates and it didn't take too long for them to get a bid to me. When they did it was reasonable for high end European cabinets. I got to use the wood and finish I wanted. I had the vanity and a couple of wall cabinets made. They turned out just they way I had thought in my mind. I am not a furniture designer but it turned out great. They took about 3 or 4 weeks to complete the job.
