Aly's Tree Trimming Pruning & Yard Clean-Up

They bought small grinding equipment to ground out the root of a mature, fast growing privet and ash tree. They cut the trees into logs and cleaned all the leaves and shavings from the property. They came with a team of about 12 people who worked well together and knew how to get the job done. They were finished in about three hours and left the property clean. This project went extremely well.

Aly's quoted work to tree several trees and bushes around my home. They were very professional, explained everything, and pointed out that they use trained arborists. I was interested in using them but received competitive quote from Johnson's Tree Service for exactly the same work and Aly's was 50% more expensive. We told Aly's we were interested in using them but they'd need to get at least closer to Johnson's but declined to do more than a 10% discount. My wife went back to Johnson's and worked her charm and got them to discount an extra 20%.

We have hired them twice. The boss/estimator was very professional, the time he showed up, the detailed documents at your hands. The price he gave me was also reasonable. The workers did beautiful job, nice an clean. They were late for the appointment at the 2nd job, but the owner did reschedule to the following morning to have the job done.

I had Aly's come out and provide a quote on Sunday based on the great reviews here on Angie's List. I asked them to try to fit me in this week and they showed up today (Monday) with a crew of five or six people. They were very professional and very knowledgable. They were here form 9am to 6pm and the yard looks amazing. This was a fairly neglected yard that needed a lot of love and they worked some magic. I'm shocked at the difference. The pile of trimmings was massive and they hauled all of it away and cleaned the entire yard. By far the best experience I have ever had with landscaping service and I would highly recommend them to anyone. Amazing crew and amazing service. I will continue to use them going forward.

The crew did an amazing job on the giant date palm tree in the backyard. The important part is the man in the tree with the chain saw. He's an artist! (I told him so!) He started off with a real mess, years of neglect, fronds practically touching the ground and a few hours later, we have a perfectly carved pineapple crowned great looking palm tree. Looks like the Tommy Bahama tree now! I wish I could post before and after pictures to really show you what they did. Additionally, they coordinated with the neighbor to ensure they could enter her yard to pick up fronds that fell on her side of the fence. They moved patio furniture out of the way, and returned it when complete. They cleaned up the mess, totally spic and span! Friendly, professional crew. Highly recommend Aly's.

They gave us a written detailed estimate. I felt that they knew what to do and how to do it. The workers were friendly and polite. They were on time and they finished the work on time. They did not ask to be paid until we were completely satisfied with the work. The trees were beautiful - much nicer than I expected. They are truly talented and professional about how to prune trees They cleaned up completely = and left the property looking neat and tidy.

I used Aly's two years ago and they did an excellant job then as they did today. I highly recommend them and would definitely use them in the future.

After we had been given the estimate and decided to use Aly's, we suggested a date for service and there was no problem in scheduling. The crew arrived within 15 minutes of the promised time. There were 4 workers, so while two of them were attacking the willow, the other two were manuevering the stump tool in place. The stump took the longest time, so while that was still going on, the first two men were trimming the citrus and putting branches through the chopper. The crew worked efficiently and spent time at the end cleaning up any debris and swept the porch. They were done at noon as promised. We are quite satisfied with the work.

This is the 3rd time we've used Aly's services, the second time they've tamed our "Jack's Beanstalk" of a wisteria vine, and I could not be happier. I called for an estimate. Aly came out the next day. And his 4-member crew came the following day to do the work. They were in and out in less than 3 hours and they took all of the mess with them. We had intended to do the weeding ourselves (and it was a LOT of weeding), but the add-on cost to have it done when the trimming and pruning was done was too reasonable to pass up!

I did not hire this company.

I got quotes from 3 companies on Angies list. They were all fairly similar in price. I decided to go with Aly's because I liked that: They figured out where to come and see the tree and leave the quote without making me call them with the address (which was in all the Angie's list messages, but both the other companies made me call to tell them the address); The information that they left with the quote included license & certification. When I talked to them on the phone it was easy to understand them. The only hitch was I emailed the authorization form back and they didn't get it and didn't call to say they hadn't gotten it, so they didn't show up on the originally scheduled day. When I called to ask about that they rescheduled. They came right on time on the new day. They were completely done with removing it and cleaning up in an hour. You can not tell now that there was a tree there. My neighbors that were awake when it happened were pretty impressed at how quickly and thoroughly they did it. Next door neighbor slept right through it - it wasn't very loud. (Tree was in front of house)

I phoned Aly on Wednesday at 10 am, and he was able to meet me at my home by 1pm that same day. We discussed the work needed, and he itemized everything and left an estimate for consideration. Work was scheduled for the next day, in the afternoon. Niño was in charge of the crew of four people who arrived at 2pm. I showed him the work that Aly had agreed to do. He was very professional and easy to talk to. He estimated the work would take 2 hours which was correct. All work was done in a professional and careful manner. I have used Aly twice, and I can enthusiastically recommend this company,

Removing the tree went well. They were fast and cleaned up. They also replace a tree.

Receiveda prompt call back, schedule was setup withou fuss.They caled me a couple of hours early, inquiring if they could start early - which they did and completed it as planned within the 3 hours they estimated. All debris cleanup was handled and once they left, you could not tell that they were even there. Will definitely use them again.

Aly's Tree Service was by far the most amazing service I have ever encountered. They didn't hesitate to come on a Sunday (I wanted my husband to be home) and they brought THE WHOLE CREW. I mean, there were multiple trucks and approximately 15 people who came to our house to get the job done. They removed one very large tree, ground 4 stumps, and pruned two trees, all within an hour or so. Even though that was amazing in and of itself, they worked impeccably well together, and being a small business owner myself, I can really appreciate their effective and efficient manner. I was so happy with their work that I made them cookies! Aly's Tree Service is simply the best, and I will use them for ANY of my tree needs in the future.

Very prompt, and gave detailed explanations. The person who cleaned up left more twigs and debris behind than I was happy about, but the trees looked great.

After a non response experience from another tree company, I called Aly. He came out quickly and gave me separate quotes for the 3 things I wanted to do. The quote was a little higher than a previous quote I had gotten. I asked what he could do if I did all 3 jobs at once and he said he would give me 10% off. This brought the job price down below the previous quote. The only thing that came as a surprise was the dump fee. He didn't include that in the original estimates. He told me after we agreed on a price and then tacked on the dump fee. He did, however round the total price down so that it was even. So I saved about 30% off the dump fee. I called Aly and he sent his crew out the next day to do the job. Aly was not among them. They came basically on time and went right to work. There were 5 guys. I oversaw the juniper & root removal cause I needed them to be careful about sprinkler water pipes. They were careful. I did have to point out roots they were missing cause the crew was a little more into easy rather than good. But, Frank, the foreman was great. He went right to work on the holly tree and had it down to the stump in no time. The other guys hauled away stuff and put it in the chipper. Then Frank took the root grinder machine in and took out the holly tree root. The crew took out all the debris and even took a garbage can full of extra dirt for me that I had nowhere to put at Frank's direction. Frank was amazing. He definitely went the extra mile for me. He did 1/2 the job himself. The rest of the crew was a little more lackadaisical about helping, but Frank just kept going and did everything, at times without help. He did need to direct the crew a lot. One of the guys started to trim the tree behind the Holly that was now exposed. It needed shaping. the one downfall was this guys was not good at trimming. He trimmed in weird places. More of, (let me do this easy not good) So, I had to direct him and tell him where to cut. Example. When trimming, you always cut down the the nearest branch joint. He was just trimming randomly anywhere.. nowhere near the junctions. I kept directing cause he really didn't have a clue how to trim, but then Frank stepped in and took over and did it right. They swept and Frank used a blower to clean up and left it in good condition. So, Aly's crew did a good job because of Frank. without him, I don't think it would have been as good. I like Aly, a nice guy. He is actually a real Arborist and that is great. I just think he needs to train his crew. If he imparts some of his experience & knowledge to the crew, they will be much better. I will use Aly's tree service again in the future as long as Frank is there to run the job.

We were happy with Aly's tree service in 2012 so we hired them again to trim our fig and tangerine tree in 2013. I couldn't be more disappointed with the service they provided in May 2013. When I called to schedule the estimate I told Aly that I have a huge tangerine tree that I need to have picked because I can't reach the top branches, even with a ladder. When he came out to give the estimate I told him again that I needed to have the tangerine tree picked. My number one objective was to have the tangerine tree picked. I would not have hired him just to prune the trees because I just had them pruned last year. I mentioned that I was a little disappointed to pick it so early because some of the fruit was not yet sweet. He suggested that he leave some of the low hanging fruit on the tree so that I could pick it later in the season once it's ripened more. I couldn't have been more clear about what I wanted, using the term "pick" repeatedly. He wrote on the estimate form that they would pick "some fruit." I didn't pay much attention to what he wrote because we had a very clear conversation about how I wanted the fruit picked because I was not able to pick it myself and that my primary reason for hiring him was to remove the tangerines from the tree. When he arrived to do the work I wasn't yet home so when I arrived after they had been working for two hours I remarked that the fruit still needed to be removed from the tangerine tree. They had trimmed the tree and separated the fruit from the branches that had been removed, but they still left a lot of fruit on the tree, not just on low branches. When I asked him to remove the rest he told me that to pick the tree would be an extra $150 and he pointed out that on his estimate he only wrote "some" fruit which means that he was not going to remove it all. I told him how disappointed I was because I had specifically hired him to remove the fruit. Therefore, the one thing I hired him to do, which was to remove all the tangerines that I cannot reach, did not get done because I refused to pay the additional amount since I felt that it was dishonest of him not to provide the service that we had clearly agreed he would provide. Now I must hire someone else to pick the tangerine tree, after paying him $310 for the orange tree and $510 overall. If you use Aly I suggest making sure the work order estimate says exactly what you want, with no abbreviations because his word can clearly not be trusted. Additionally, we scheduled them to arrive at 10am on Sunday morning. When my husband got home at 9:37 they had already arrived and let themselves into our back yard through the driveway gate to begin working. I cannot believe that they felt they had the right to let themselves onto our property without us being home. Fortunately we had not left our dogs in the backyard that morning otherwise they would have gotten out. Furthermore, the day Aly came to give the estimate he had told me in the morning that he was very busy and probably couldn't make it that day, but would call if he could come. Instead of calling he just showed up at my front door. I find both showing up without calling and letting themselves onto our property earlier than we discussed to be extremely unprofessional. I gave them a C for punctuality because of how disrespectful of our property they were when they arrived early. I gave them a C on price because $310 is not a good price for trimming a tangerine tree. He did not charge us a dump fee even though he took away materials.

I contacted Aly's to give me an estimate on the work and they provide a quick response although they provided an estimate to remove rather than trim the Liquid Amber tree in the front yard. I called them back and they quickly provided a revised written estimate of $550 which was less than the $600 charged by an other service several years ago. In their estimate they provided copies of licenses, proof of liability insurance and some certificates. I elected to have them do the work and they showed up with crew that included a bucket truck and wood chipper. I happened to be home the day of the work, I met with the foreman (forgot his name, Robby maybe) and went over the work to be done. Everything seemed in order and they started the work. They did a great job with the trimming of the Liquid Amber and removal of the privets. I told the foreman I hoped to plant something where the privets were and he made sure to grind those stumps fully to allow the ground to be leveled and to to make sure they don't come back as they are somewhat invasive. The stump grinder is a pretty interesting machine, it's like a huge chain saw and shoots a ton of wood chips as it grinds up the stump. It make a little bit of a mess but he used a piece of plywood to limit the spray. When they were complete they removed all the debris and used a blower to get rid of any small chips and branch fragments. They did an excellent job cleaning up. The only damage found (weeks later while trimming) was a smaller shrub had some broken branches most likely from a branch falling on it. Overall a very professional job, I will use them again

I contact Aly's for a quote. His office was very responsive and scheduled an appointment for the estimate quickly. He came out to the house and looked at our trees, and gave us a quote. We were also glad to learn that he also could arrange for gardening services. Aly's price was higher than what we were quoted by another service, so we did not end up going with him. However, Aly was professional and seemed knowledgeable. We really debated whether to use him despite the higher price because of his professionalism and knowledge.

It was a good experience and I was happy with the job they did.

Aly's team have been trimming our palms for a couple of years now and they consistently perform excellent work and provide excellent customer service. Aly and his team have never damaged our property and they always do an excellent job on the cleanup. They also take the time to get to artistic effect of the pruning process right. This is the second time I have used this company and they once again, did a stellar job. They came out within a day of my call to provide an estimate. Joseph was professional, polite and answered all of my many questions. He provided an estimate immediately and we scheduled the work within a few days. Four men came out and the work was completed quicker than the original estimate. They did a fantastic job and completely cleaned up the entire work area before they left. I will continue to use this company throughout the years as they are so easy to work with, do an exemplary job and charge a reasonable amount for the work being performed.
